They are the same but just that they dont have a lot of details has in interior and you can't turn the high and low beams. Oh yeah all the standard cars that are in GT5 were just imported from GT4 that's why they look different.

My question was about car damage and dirt..is it necesary to do car maintenance and service.. Because I don't notice the any changes

Well I think the car wash makes a slight difference in a car's appearance. Engine overhauls, oil changes and restoring the body rigidity effect the performance. Visible car damage disappears when you leave a track but the body rigidity is effected.

Washes also have a tiny effect on top speed and accleration, albeit minimal.

that effect was present in gt4 as well. a gt-one toyota could lose up to 5mph off its top speed, granted your taking 5mph off of 320+mph so that still minimal if you ask me. I just do it bc i'm ocd like that (yes, i'm like that with my real car).

Some standard cars were made just for this game ... It's a minority, but a couple were.

Yeah like the Jaguar XKR '10 and the Bugatti Veryon. Basically PD didn't have enough time to make them premium.

Well some are GT PSP ports too, like the bugatti, but the XFR '10 is a new to the game car I think.

I think it depends on your level in the game.

Lol..I didn't know that..now I going to wash all my cars, even if they don't look dirty, I nevet see the diference between a clean car or dirty one..do I have to buy a bigger TV to see the dirt on the car?! :)

Wrong wrong wrong. There is NO link between levels and damage. The physics are the same between standard and premium as well.

The definition between the standard cars and the premium ones are basically the same in reference to that they neither receive physical scratches (only slight change in appearance) and the operation itself... however, those classifies as standards as opposed to genuine premiums have quite less detail both in exterior and interior compared to those recognized as premium cars and are impossible to change the view to the one from the cockpit for the detailed features...

And besides the differences in outlook, there are some disadvantages in usage of the cars. Being unable to proceed to a phototravel section with a standard car is just one example of those faults.

Incorrect. No Standard models were created for GT5. None.

The differences between Standard and Premium aren't just that one has a cockpit and the other doesn't, and it isn't about modeling damage, either. The Standard models are also built from far, far, far fewer polygons, consequently being less detailed externally, and in the case of the older models also had poorer textures. If PD were going to create a model for GT5, even if they didn't bother with modeling the interior there's still no reason not to properly model the exterior, or for not using higher-resolution textures. No development time is saved by creating lower-resolution textures and basically no time is saved by skimping on some polygons.

Not all Standards were ported from previous console releases. Some were from PSP. Ones created for PSP still were not created for GT5.

Well until now where I stand corrected I presumed the Veyron was just for GT5; however I just recently discovered that it was an Add-on for GT PSP. :dopey:

Still, at least my main argument still stands that PD didn't have enough time.
