I had the SSR for a long time but I never tried it, so I took it for the pick up events and it looks really nice, like a premium ! So which other standards you think look premium ?

Some cars are more standard than others, but there isn't one capable of being compared with premiums in terms of quality, details, etc.

To me, the Veyron and the Countach models look "premium" on the outside.

I imagine they "are" premium, but they had no time to finish the interior and did not want to enable premium damage until the cars were fully premium.

They are still modeled as one solid piece, so no. Other than having better texture definition than your average Standard, neither are functionally any different (and the Countach 25th Anniversary has some really jagged textures, too).

R8 LMS can look really good even without editing a photo. That chrome grill and detailed lights, it could be a premium just not enough time to finish the interior.

None. Any car model looks good from far enough away. No Standard model holds up when very close.

This has been talked about.

The prowler has an interior, does that mean it's actually a premium? No.

It's a premium without an interior, as is one of the GTR's I believe (or was in prologue)

Until you focus on the wheelarches or headlights, I think the Caterham, Tank Car and perhaps the Prowler are the more thoroughly detailed Standards, probably because they're open wheel or partly open wheel (and open top) and maybe that's the reason you couldn't use them in GT4's races.

I'll agree some Standard cars look far better than others (and even then you'll need to squint your eyes a bit) but that has also something to do with a lot looking very bad (by which I mean looking far worse than they did in GT4).

What ive always wondered is why some standards have manual transmission animations for the driver even though theres no gearknob/peddle shifter anywhere. Like the open cockpit standard lmp cars have peddle shift animarions and the countach 25th aniversary has a gearknob animation but not cars like the Toyota 7.

Honestly, no standard looks like a premium. No matter how you paint it, or what wheels you choose. They all look like one huge brick of clay.

The open wheelers might have some detail to them, but just get slightly close with the camera and you'll notice how terrible they are as well. No exceptions.

The Veyron, XFR and R8 LM might look a bit better because of their bright paint and softer textures, but they are still WAY inferior than the worst looking Premium.

Only the steering wheel, dashboard and door panels have premium finish. Look right and you'll see the low res textures on the seats.

It's strange, but it almost seems like if this car was an experiment from PD. Probably what standard interiors were meant to be, or how they would implement detailed interiors in the rest of standards in the future.

It's strange, but it almost seems like if this car was an experiment from PD. Probably what standard interiors were meant to be, or how they would implement detailed interiors in the rest of standards in the future.

Maybe it's a 'forced' experiment, since they decided to put in the Prowler without its roof up (as opposed to a lot of cars which were open top in GT4 but have their roofs up as Standard) before adding 'cockpits' to Standard cars.
Maybe the initially modelled interior of the Prowler was that bad (even worse than the poor textures of the Caterham and Tank Car) that they had to remodel it quickly as a black cut out wasn't an option.

Yes there is, the Corvette Z06 (C5) ’04 is pretty rough compared with any other Premium car, although that appears to be the modelling itself which seems a bit off, it doesn't have jagged edges or blocky textures but looks like a Premium-method prototype, the interior but especially the exterior.

There's no comparison between "the worst looking p" and the "best looking standard" but between premiums, some are more premium than others, examples, Ferrari F40 (posibly the best modeled car in the game) and the Lamborghini Aventador.

Examples of premiums that aren't so premium
Pagani Zonda R (it has some low-res textures both interior and exterior)
NASCARS (those even have jaggies on some parts of the body and interiors
Ferrari 330 p4 (beautifully modeled on the outside, almost 2D background interior
SLR Mclaren (looks good but look up while being on the interior view, what the hell is all that mess?

PD. The premium challenger '70 has the worst interior modeling from all premiums.

To clarify, the Premium C5 Corvette looks worse from a modeling standpoint than the Standard does from some angles (the textures are far better, but the mesh is really messy looking; with a lot of body panels not looking "right"). Go to the Laguna Seca endurance race (because they both tend to show up there) and compare them and you'll see. The Premium ultimately does look better, but it is a lot closer than it probably should be.


The R32 Skyline has a really basic interior too, with all the gauges looking like stickers rather than real gauges.
