Standard cars that looks premium

Examples of premiums that aren't so premium
Pagani Zonda R (it has some low-res textures both interior and exterior)
NASCARS (those even have jaggies on some parts of the body and interiors
Ferrari 330 p4 (beautifully modeled on the outside, almost 2D background interior
SLR Mclaren (looks good but look up while being on the interior view, what the hell is all that mess?

PD. The premium challenger '70 has the worst interior modeling from all premiums.

Seriously? I mean those are your examples of cars being 'not so Premium'? You have high standards my friend, far too high I think, can't see anything really wrong with those cars and believe me, I'm a sucker for detail.

Oh, now I just remembered that the Aventador has one big flaw, the steering wheel logo is corrupted, I took a picture inside the car with the glitch method. Some cars also have no pedals ( blanks ).

I think the Nissan Silvia S14 K's Aero looks almost premium

Yes I do, I'm studying Industrial design, especially automotive, that means I understand about proportions, perspective, textures, lightning, etc., yes I can sketch cars like Foose,

To my eyes
Premiums are the standard this generation and standards are the standard of PS1 generation (not even PS2, GT4 models were better)

May I also point out that the illumination and reflections of the envirorment to the car are all wrong in GT5?

Do you want to continue?..

Nah, I get it :D, I didn't want to suggest they're flawless, just that these particular examples you mentioned don't bother me as much regarding inconsistency than some other examples where I think it's more clear they cut some corners perhaps.
And I'm not blind, I can see the textures or overall interior modelling of the 330 P4 you mentioned aren't of the same quality as for example the XJ13 as you're not alone in having studied industrial design. ;)

The Viper Concept was originally in GT3, looks like a pretty great standard. Yet the CLK-DTM that first appeared In GT3 looks bad..
So, I think it depends on
1)The vinyls/decals making some worse than others (obviously)
2)Then, obviously, the complexity of the car shape and design affects how distictively we perceive the imperfections.

Yeah the quality of the textures used can make even a premium look sub standard. For example my 787b. Absolutely beautiful and flawless when looked upon from the outside and most of the inside. But if you look at the left wheel arch from the cockpit view you will see the blurred number texture which kinda detracts just a tad from the overall polished nature of the model.

On topic: Id say some of the Ford GT standards look very good. I really like the original GT40 and the newer Gulf model even though they are standard. I really wish the Premium Ford GT's came with the wheels of the 05 Gulf standard model. None of the wheels you can select for the premium GT's suit the car. But thats another issue.

Probably the only one that can even be close to be said to being near Premium quality is the Caterham. Otherwise, there's pretty much just nothing.

I think that the Plymouth prowler is closer to premium due to the moving dials.

The GSX/R looks pretty good in cockpit view... hey at least you can see the interior instead of a half-assed blacked out view.

Is there any worst premium in GT5 ? If there is, How does the worst looking premium compared to the best standard ?

I have to agree with the rest. the C5 Corvette even has a hole in the steering wheel if looked from the outside in photo mode.

The M5 used to look really ruugh on v1.00. Along the way it has seen many improvements, including the glitched tachometer and the misplaced front brake calipers. But it still has some issue in the interior such as unidimmentional floating emblems and simbols (that's the only way I can explain it). Check the horn simbols in the steering wheel.

The Nissan GTR R32 didn't really had a fully modeled interior. All it's instruments were like a low res cardboard stuck in the dashboard. The Fairlady Z32 had the same problem but it was fixed along the way.

Jd say there are some standard premiums though. Look at the Toyota GT-86 concept 2... IT HAS NO INSIDES!

Only because the actual car only has no interior, it's a concept car.

I like the Aston Martin Vanquish, from the outside you can see the interior but very faintly, looks great.

No standard car "looks" premium, in fact there's none that are even remotely close to looking premium. There are however certain standard cars that look a lot better compared to others and some standards that look fairly good from a distance but there's not a single one that can be seriously compared to even the worst premium in the game.

Plymouth prowler?

FGT?
It even has a cockpit view of a premium car

Did you compare the cockpit with the Ferrari f2007 or 2010 you would find the fgt has a standard looking cockpit.

Plymouth prowler?

Nope, take it for a spin, go to the replay and then photo mode and you will see drawn-on door handles, fuel cap, rear lights, grille and seams, extremely jaggy rear wheel arches and wing mirrors and also the cockpit view while being better than most standards just isn't up to premium. In a nutshell, the Prowler isn't even close to being premium and there's no point saying don't look so close at it because that's the whole point of having premium cars.

If you mean in terms of it being more than a usual standard car's black silhouette cockpit then yes. If you think it's anywhere near premium then you need your eyes tested.

Well, I'm talking about the including of the dashboard. Only few standard cars have the dashboard. Of course, it is nothing like those of premium cars.

Both Chapparals? Both cars look rather special I think.

Yet it has a feature no other standard has, that makes it sub normal in that respect.

Sub normal but not premium.

It seems like some people think that the only difference between standards and premiums is the interior. If you can't tell a standard car from a premium just by looking at the exterior, then I'm not sure what to say. There's a huge difference in modelling and textures. Just because that concept GT-R doesn't have an interior doesn't make it a standard car, and the added cockpits in some standards are nice but it doesn't make those cars premium.

My IS300 Sport Cross doesn't look very bad, for a standard. :) The BMW 320i Touring Car looks great for a standard. The Mitsubishi Evo series looks great, whether it's standard or premium... (yes, all ten are in, and they all look okay)
