Is there any standard cars that you can put a carbon hood on? and if not then they should definitely add it in the next update.

No, there are not.
This wont happen next update because it would require lots and lots of texturing for each car (due to the pattern of the carbon) which will take way too much time.

Quoting myself from the other thread...
Wouldn't you rather PD spend their time on converting Standards into Premiums (with the ability to change carbon hoods) instead of wasting their time trying to make Standards more attractive? :odd:

They should just step away from Standards altogether.

That's a disappointment, well at least they allow you to change and color the rims of most standard cars but it would be nice to add spoilers to some standard cars and I wish they added descent cockpits for all standard cars that cost more than 4 million credits because since they cost so much, it would be nice to see a descent looking cockpit for the Ford GT40, 2D Race Car, 88C-V Race Car, R92CP Race Car, Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car, etc...

Like I said, PD should stop taking short cuts regarding Standard cars and just go Premium.

If you're gonna do it, do it right.

To the best of my knowledge you can't put a carbon hood on any standard model...although some standards do come with a carbon hood:

Isuzu Bellet 1600 GT-R!
Nissan BNR34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nur (Don't quote me).

Thats the only 2 I know of personally...I'm sure there is more out there though.;)

Nah, the Isuzu doesn't have a carbon hood, just a black one IIRC.

They should stop focusing on standard cars and just focus on premium cars and update the engine sounds of current premiums.

You know how long it would take them to convert every standard car to a premium. They will need to look at 800 cars and model the interior, keep in mind that I don't know how they model the premium cars. Unless you mean if they would of remove the idea of standard cars since the game was in development and just focused on premiums. I would rather have 500 or more premiums than having 800 standard cars with only 200 premiums. The standard cars are not fun to drive since they have a blacked out cockpits. I also think that there is way too many Japanese premium cars like Nissan, Toyota, etc. There is not enough of other country manufactures, it would be nice to have more premium Volkswagen, Volvo, Aston martin, Maserati, etc...

Yes, they are fun to drive. The black cockpits are pretty to look at? NO. But the cars are hella fun to drive, and even the black cockpit added more fun to them.

V-Spec II N1, close enough. :p Here's a pic of it from GT4.

It only comes in white, but I wonder if you can repaint it in GT5... 💡

Well I guess in Gran Turismo 6 they might only focus on premium cars and improve the engine sounds but for now we will have to deal GT5 and not saying its a bad game but a little disappointing that they put 800 standards and most of them imported from GT4 when they could of just added more premiums and forget the standard cars.

Also its a pretty damn shame they did not focus on premiums considering the premiums look so gorgeous and no other game comes close in my opinion to the visual look of the exterior and interior of the premium cars in GT5.

Haha thanks for the corection mate.;)👍

Yeah I wonder if you can change the color...would look real nice in the Bayside Blue with a decent set of Gold Rims.:D

I think the standard cars come in one piece. Like, there are no separate panels. The illusion of panels are just the lines. This is just my theory. But, if they were in separate pieces, I think PD would be able to implement carbon fiber easy.

There are tons of videos that show how to make carbon fiber in Forza. I know, I know this isnt Forza. But what they are essentially doing is making a skin, saving it and then pasting it onto any body panel they want.

If it does turn out that the standards in GT5 are one piece, it would be harder to do because you would have to modify each and every model. Instead of telling the game to make this specific part of the car into the new carbon fiber skin.

Don't forget the Toyota Sprinter Trueno from Initial D, and the Carbon R (for those that just want to be extreme about carbon, lol)

Yes you can, trust me ;)

I'd like more customization on standards for sure. But start with more rims and less doofy looking spoilers. 80s grocery getters should not have giant GT wings but should have some kind of downforce options on some that don't look like utter insanity.

On the usual ranting by the usual people about the usual thing, I'd rather have a bazillion 'ugly' cars, then a few pretty ones I don't really care about. The only premiums I drive are the race car premiums, and a couple of the kei-car premiums, and infact, of all the premiums I drive, more then half came from DLC.

If PD only focused on premiums, I'd have a garage of like...five cars. Not six hundred and five.

Also I'd lose out on cars I've actually owned and driven for obscure exotic cars and license pandering :nervous:

one of the custom S2000s have a carbon hood. It might be the Amuse one, not sure without checking. But I know it usually comes in a dark color that makes it so you can't really tell it's a carbon hood, but I recently got one in the used dealership that was silver instead of really dark blue so I finally noticed it had a carbon hood. I'm posting from my PS3, so I can't check while I'm posting this to see if it's paintable and keeps the hood.

:nervous: How could you forget the AE86 S.Shigeno Ver.? That comes with carbon hood too.

Ahhhh soo true...what was I thinking...I love that car! I have like 3 in my Garage haha!:D:tup:

Ae86 just looks black, I don't know that it's carbon.

Wish the "I hate standards" crybabies would knock it off already. They are in the game, get over it. Most of the cars I drive are standards, and I don't ever really notice it. Guess I'm more worried about racing instead of looking pretty...

500 premiums would be nice, I'll agree with that. Most standards were as simple as porting them over though, so why not have them?
