Just got this game Monday on sale from Origin! (PC). Oh my I'm having a lot of fun! I used to play the original Battlefront and Battlefront II on my PS2 when they game out for hours and hours and hours. So I have a feeling that I'll have a similar addiction with this game. I've never been very good at multiplayer first person shooters so I was a little bit disappointed that the fun co-op and solo player modes from the original 2 are gone. I know this is basically just a Star Wars branded version of the Battlefield series (Which there is nothing wrong with as I've loved playing Battlefield since the comedic Battlefield Bad Company), but for some reason it possesses graphics that are much better than the Battlefield series, along with some awesome sounds, and of course all of the cool Star Wars guns and weapons! Anyway, I'm looking forward to playing many hours of this game, as well as looking forward to the kind of expansion packs that EA put out, as the expansion packs for the Battlefield series are often high dollar, but highly fun.

Glad you're having fun! Right now is a good time to buy the game (Don't bother with the season pass). Things have been significantly improved with the recent update. If you ever need advice, just ask us! One YouTube channel I suggest you try is Otaku (Loud intro warning. Turn your volume down). He's posted a bunch of weapon and hero/villain guides. Some of the information is now incorrect due to weapon rebalancing, but for the most part, it's still relevant. Symthic.com provides detailed information about all of the weapons available to you as a soldier and hero/villain. It's definitely worth checking out. Finally, I can't recommend enough that you use headphones while playing. Everything from the blasters, to soldiers calling for your attention, to the sound of a Thermal Imploder (Dubstep grenade ) annihilating everyone in a hallway add so much to the game. Have fun!

I had the match of my life last night. It wasn't my highest kill count ever, but in a Blast match I had 11 kills and not a single death at the Hoth Ice Caves. I couldn't believe I didn't die once!

Which blaster and cards were you using? Just curious.

Interesting read-up about how the sound for the Thermal Imploder was created: http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/news/sounds-of-star-wars-battlefront-part-1?sf44298314=1

Personally, I love sound it produces, but it's terrifying when you hear the countdown beeping noise if you're inside a tight corridor, thinking you're half a second away from being annihilated.

The sound really reminds me of the Seismic Charges that Jango Fett used in Attack of the Clones. Those things sounded awesome too!

Does anyone know if you can use your bubble shield and control a deployable turret, or any turret that doesn't offer protection?

I think it's great that they actually sampled the Seismic Charges and programmed all the game sounds to mute right before detonation, just like in Episode II.

I've been using EE-3, Jump Pack, Grenade Launcher and Scan Pulse.

I think yes. I see it done all the time.

My best combo for the last few weeks: Shotgun, Impact Grenade, Scan Pulse & Jump Pack.

However, for the Battle of Jakku I use the pulse cannon rifle instead of the impact grenade.

Looks like I'll be leveling up this weekend with double XP going on.

I'm level 49 at the moment, so I can finally get that Shadow Trooper at 50 and double XP should make it easy.👍

Dan
Don't forget Twi'lek. ;)

For the Rebels I'm happy using that green dude with the big head.

Edit: Reached level 50 today, seemed to be having a lot of lag issues as I'd be shooting guys but they weren't getting hurt.

So I saw this dude on Twitch (stlthybear) and he had a count of 99 Scan Pulse cards and it would never come down no matter how many times he used them... Is it a hack? or can you buy more than 99 but it just won't show the actual number?

BTW, he is beyond insane. I'm talking consistently 45-50 kills and like 4 deaths.

He's likely purchased more than 99 charges. I think you can have up to 1,000 so it won't go down for a long time.

Different topic now: I'd like to see the Bowcaster return to it's original power, but only if it is a powerup/battle pickup meaning you can't spawn with it. I think this will help balance the weapon since it needs to be extremely powerful (For example, look at Chewie in The Force Awakens; Just one shot blows away any storm trooper), but can't be over-used.

Kind of hard to see but that's 43 kills and 14 deaths. Walker assault on Endor with jump pack, homing shot, ion shots and the EE-3

I remember in the beta on Hoth if you jumped in the ATAT a few times especially on the final uplinks you could get over 100 kills it was ridiculous

The EE-3 is one of the most popular blasters but the fire rate is what kills me. I stick with the T-21 or the E-11 or the shotgun.

Oh and how do you get to drive the AT-AT?

You operate the AT-AT like any other vehicle; you walk into a blue icon with an image of the AT-AT inside it.

If you want two extremely accurate weapons, I can't recommend enough using the E-11 or A280C.

Do any of you play Battlefront through Origin on the PC? Looking for some guys to play with as I'm not the greatest player myself and seem to get paired with players even worse than I am. Just become an absolute slaughter for the other team all of the time. My origin account is shintastic48

Please send a request and send me a message letting me know that you're from GTP and what your GTP username is so I know for when I'm talking to you guys here :)

Hey guys, just to let you know, a new patch is out. Lots of important changes, like AT-AT health being increased on Endor and A-Wings having properly modeled hitboxes. Plus, new things have been added, like twilight versions of several maps. All of the details are right here.

Finally, check out these user-made screenshots from the /r/StarWarsBattlefront subreddit.

I enjoy the new map. It's something different, but it still fits the theme. Can't wait for the DLCs to start being released.

Does anybody know what emote makes the character shout "Someone crack open a blast door!"? I keep hearing other people use it, and I crack up every time I hear it, but I can't figure out which one it is.

I have it. :D
I believe it's the one called "smell".

Btw, does anyone have server issues when joining a party of 3 or more? Every time one of us tries to search for a game the server all of a sudden cannot find a single game. However if I leave the group then the issue stops

Why the title change to this thread? Hasn't Lucas lost all right to call the thing his own now that Disney have it? Let alone as a result of what he did with the second three films...;)

The title has been changed loads of times, not sure what's wrong with just: Star Wars: Battlefront

@Dan

Are you going to buy the DLC when it drops? I don't really want to but I know I probably will when I see how epic the new maps look

It depends. The first thing they need to do with these expansions is make the maps free for everyone to use. If they don't, then they're shooting themselves in the foot by dividing up the already somewhat dwindling playerbase. On PS4, things are going relatively strong. Playercount is smaller on XBOX One, but it's at a critical state on PC. Next, if they want people to buy the season pass, the price needs to be permanently slashed in half. There is zero justification in paying almost the same price as the base game for just a pass which includes barely anything worthwhile at the moment. Even in other games where there's more content in the base experience, they don't charge players nearly as much. Battlefront is lacking stuff from the beginning, there's no doubting that.

Yep, I wanted to buy it, but no where near enough content to justify the price tag.
