In case you think that's a definite typo and should have read "travels", travails is a word that fits there. In this context it would be like saying "We follow the (Struggles/Trials/Efforts) of..."

Sounds okay 👍

There was some stuff leaked from the set also... such as this...

... so safe to say there's a desert planet as setting...

Second resistance trailer dropped also.

CASSIAN ANDOR LIVE-ACTION SERIES ANNOUNCED

Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced today that Lucasfilm is in development on a second Star Wars live-action series for Disney+, the Company’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service. The series, which will go into production next year, follows the adventures of rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor. “Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” said Luna. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”

The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. A release date for the series has not yet been announced. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for the latest updates.

Cassian was a great character in Rogue One. Not afraid to do the wrong thing for the right cause. As long as K2SO is in it too - IMO one of the best SW characters in the whole franchise, it could well be a great series.

However in my opinion the Actor made it great. It often is disappointing to see another actor take over a (voice) role then the original.

edit: only just read that the orginal actor is taking over the role. Sorry for the fail.

I bet we'll see how the two of them came to be.

Considering who it is created by, my expectations are higher for Resistance than Episode IX. After Clone Wars and what Rebels became, I will give Dave Filoni the benefit of the doubt.

Filoni is generally on point, but lets not forget, neither TCW or Rebels were well received initially - so I doubt this is going to be a fan hit from the first episode. It's also worth considering that with the live action series coming and the final Clone Wars series, this might be targeted at a slightly younger audience - which of course will displease a large number of the more vocal 'fans'.

Both Clone Wars and Rebels took some time to find their stride. I expect Resistance will not be different. Unlike the vocal fans, I do not view all things Star Wars through rose tinted nostalgia glasses and have adjusted my expectations accordingly.

I am just about caught up on Star Wars Resistance; I think I am an episode or two behind the latest episode. Much like The Clone Wars and Rebels, Resistance has taken its time to find its stride. However, with the last few episodes that I have watched, there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel to move towards. I hope Resistance continues to improve and build into something greater like The Clone Wars and Rebels eventually did.

I've got a few episodes to catch up on somehow. I have to say, while I don't mind the premise, looks, or plots of Resistance, I do find Kaz really annoying. I know the program is aimed at younger kids that might look up to Kaz, or feel like they can identify with him, but as an adult, all I do is question why the hell anyone would trust him to do anything. It doesn't ruin it for me, but like with Rebels, I find Kaz (and Ezra) to be some of the least likable things about the series. Overall I like it though, there's aspects of it that remind me of the old 'Droids' cartoons.

I hold the same opinion on Kaz, both in annoyingness and least likable. I do not remember Ezra being as annoying early on in Rebels. I may also be misremembering because I do not recall the early episodes of Rebels as well. However, Rebels had more involvement of other characters within each episode and that likely offset some of the annoyingness. Fortunately, Resistance has recently started to involve more of the cast on a more than brief basis and is starting to get past the introduction of the story they are trying to tell.

Episode 9 panel is on now... I'm assuming it'll finish with the trailer drop... 29 mins from now.

THE RISE OF SKYWALKER...

So Palpatine is coming back and Rey is probably a Skywalker then? Fair enough, it'll just follow the Return of the Jedi formula and that's ok by me.

I'm guessing having the "we'll always be with you" voiceover coincide with Leia's onscreen appearance was pretty much required for the trailer editor.

What an unexpected title for what Disney is calling the end of the Skywalker saga.

The Rise of Skywalker.

To give him his dues, he must be knocking on sixty now? Things don’t work quite the way they used to. I bet he used the force :dopey:

It won't be ... but ... this could be a massive tie-in to what what they do next with Films. Skywalker isn't just a surname in certain parts of the universe.

Oh yeah? I haven't kept up with what is and isn't canon since the Disneyfying of the universe, but interesting...

The recent Thrawn Alliances book reveals that to his species (from the unknown regions), Skywalkers were force sensitive navigators. Given that a lot of the canon set after the Original Trilogy deals with Palpatine looking beyond the edge of the outer rim there could be a link... and I mean, where did Smee Skywalker get her surname...?

Like I say, it won't be that, it'll just be something about Rey... but they could make all kinds of links with the rest of Canon that would make more sense of the title.

It’s just a shame none of these will undo how much of an awful film the last one was.

The scene just before that laugh kicks in...

Death Star wreckage?

Also...

With regards to the new subtitle, perhaps it's reference to a new term being created to describe force-sensitive individuals, in the same way that Jedi and Sith were thrown around. Luke decreed that the Jedi had to end, and his claim of being the last after fighting Ben (albeit not in person) was perhaps the final chapter for the Jedi as a cult. True, they weren’t outright evil like the Sith, but their rules and actions played a role in the creation of events laden with heavy repercussions – they effectively helped to create Vader, and Luke ultimately sent Ben down the route of the Dark Side.

“Skywalker” could be seen as a new philosophy to aspire to. If Rey is the first of a new order who can bring true balance to the force and bridge the divide created by the Jedi and Sith over thousands of years, it could be a good thing for the galaxy at large.

I didnt dislike episode 8 as much as most people did. I will wait to see how it will fit in the trilogy. I do dislike the the new title, because it spoils the plot. I dont see how Rey isnt a skywalker now. Or is it a red herring?
