Standard Skyline R32. It was too slow on the straights for FR beginner challenge so I ended up getting the premium supra and spent 40k on upgrades lol. R32 is a good handling car though.

My true first car was a Honda Civic, but a few races later I sold it and bought what I'd consider my first car, a Ford Focus ST, which has now been upgraded to the max!
*Hugs my baby Ford Focus ST*

I started GT4 with a '85 Nissan RX7... was a good starting vehicle... you could make it give over 400hp, and that was enough for a long time..
Will probably look for something similar when I start playing...

my 1st car when i was 17 was an AE86 and thats what i started with in this game and quickly moved onto a bmw z4M when i got the 80k.

I Started with something a little more Modest than some people-
The Toyota MR-S '99

But it's got great handling character, the engine sounds nice and it's Great in the hands of a B-Spec driver. Should respond well to tuning too. Makes me want the JGTC version >: )

It's main advantage I think is it's small size, it lets the somewhat nervous B-Spec driver overtake more willingly!

W.Blackburn just rules in it. (Loving those Random Names, too!)

Just like this, except I can't have the roof down! xD

I have a nissan silvia I have now fitted with a massive wing and a turbo so it's good for 250bhp but It's still got a lot left to give.

I started with a red '94 Mitsubishi FTO which I used once (I would've got a lovely Black Evo 3 ,but my driver level was 0),then I did special events and got a Focus ST which was great then I bought the cheap supercar the 06 Z06 and race modded it to pretty much GT1 speed.

started out with a Honda Civic type R new from the dealer.

tried to get a deal on a used but only one that fit my budget and HP I was looking for was Integra Type R but you needed to be a LvL 2...

So I opted for the Civic.

good starter car I guess.

i started with the 98 Lexus IS200. i almost settled for a civic, luckily the Lexus was the last car on the list and i new it had the best potential out of the selection i had. i wanted that supercharged MR-2 but i think it was a couple of dollars to much.

Got my self a Mitsubishi FTO GR '97 for 12.000. Very easy to drive and will win you a bunch of events in the beginner and amateur classes. After that you have earned enough cash to buy something decent and fast.

This may not be my starting car if i cant afford it but it definately what i want to start with.
You can afford it! It's that same car I started with, Civic Type R (EK) '97.

Golded the first few races on the first run, with the stock car. Then I had to tune it up a bit, racing tires, stage 2 engine, ended up with a ±50K$ that kicks ass!

Got myself the FTO 97'. Havent had a chance to take it for a spin yet. Intending on wearing out the rubber on this baby tonight.

I went for the '97 FTO in Burgundy Red , it's good enough to get you going , added a wing , gave the engine an overhaul and upgraded the suspension. Even the bspec driver can win using it (once he reached level 4)

i bought a eunos roadster to start with. i hate buying used.

but speaking of which i have a weird question:

****the beginner a-spec races require some classic cars. where on earth am i supposed to buy them??****

I bought myself the Toyota Starlet from the Used Car dealer. Not the greatest, but I love the way it needs the smallest amount of power to spin up the inside wheel when you accelerate out of a corner!

Just bought the game. Wanted to start with a cliosport but it's not there?. Looked through the cars and there's hardly any! Maybe about 100 in the dealers part?. Where are all the cars guys ? Am I missing something

I was VERY pleased to find a little 83' Levin GT-APEX(AE86) in the used car lot for around 14,000.

It now has a stage 2 turbo, close ratio 5 speed, sport suspension, Engine stage 2, and full intake/exhaust.

Blasting through the amateur events with it. Though, I have to grab a big margin in the corners and block like hell on long straits.

Ya, for some reason my cars always fail on the straights in beginner events. I would basically gain like 3-4 second lead in sectors filled with corners, but by the end of a long straight, half the field is ahead of me again :(

Keep checking the used car lot. I bought a 69' Isuzu Bellet (which is surprisingly quick and fun to drive) for around 20k. It can run in both the Japanese classics and world classic events

My first 3 were these,

1. Go-Kart
2. Ford Mustang Cobra R '2000
2-b. McLaren MP4

Bought the McLaren at the same time as the Cobra R, but I don't drive the Mustang (yet). I bought it fearing it will disappear from the used lot. And it's funny, a second one popped up, so I was dead wrong. LOL^_^

First car was a Black Starlet Glanza for just over 10k... which left a good amount of cash to get the engine revving higher, and accelerating quickly. Have done the first 6 races easily with it now, 864kg, 200hp (can't find where to change to kw) and with suspension and gearbox done it drives awesomely! :)

Started with a Mini 1.3i '98 in Hawaiian Blue. Spent all night adding extras to it for the rally courses, it's a fantastic little machine - practically a Mini ERA.

Haven't bought anything else yet, I plan on maxing it out with all the modifications available before I do. It's brilliant fun, sounds like a modded Mini and more importantly it drives like a Mini.

It's a shame the body styling can't be changed, or the rims - but on the other hand it's a deceptive looking little thing :D

...btw, where did you get this? Is it just a timing of finding it in used cars? I have a Copper Fire coloured 81 Mini City in RL. :) Inlaws have a 2000 model 40th ani model, and a '68 Cooper. :) I wanted that as a first car sooo bad. :(

Mine is the mighty Micra 12 SR, now with CF bonnet, Racing exhaust, various engine, drive train and suspension mods and it has added up to 144bhp and ~870KG :D. And one hell of a noise!!!
