Here's a question I haven't seen. Will the chrome cars form the collectors edition be in the garage once we start the game or will we just have the availability to buy them?

As far as I know there is no official information on this yet, but my guess is they'll be in your garage, just as I think the stealth cars will be. I could be wrong ofcourse.

The classic coffee can exhaust! I agree, also I think they will be since its a Japanese gaming company.

Isn't US cars one of the most clean emission cars in the world while Japan has less regulations for emission?

I'm pretty sure US is behind Japan on the cleanliness of the atmosphere. Cars even have to have their engines replaced after a certain amount of mileage to keep them clean. Something like 30,000km.

Otherwise, there are 'fart cans' and there are exhausts. I don't want to get TOO off topic, but exhausts like Buddy Club Spec 2, Spoon N1, (youtube it) and others are specifically made for imports and as ricey as they may sound to people who aren't into imports, sound as good to me as whatever you like to you.

Nice to see a lot of Honda love !

My old EK4 Civic VTi had a Integra Type-R motor in it had 210bhp so was pretty quick and had a Buddyclub Pro-spec exhaust so it wasnt quiet - all exhausts that make the most power on hondas are genarally the loudest ones (which is a bad thing but cant be helped).

I'll try getting a EK9 Civic type-r as a first purchase (if only we had engine swaps like forza i'd slap a ITR motor in there - just need to stroke the thing) but to be honest my first cars will most likely be the licence test cars.

👍

I never liked the Honda Civics and other cheap imports; every single smoking, drinking teenager and their little sister have fartcan Honda Civics, and it bothers the hair off me when they smoke and screech their way out of the school parking lot every single time. The piddly little engines shouting to the point your ears hurt, and the drivers sitting low in the seat with their hand on top of the wheel because they're cool, and yet they still get outrun by mobility chairs. I don't even think the Hondas sound all that good, to be honest. I'd prefer my Focus, thanks.

Only in the U.S :sly:

He's canadian.
I agree with what he said though singling out the CIVIC when almost any cheap car kids get their hands on can end up the same way, even his Focus, isn't fair.

If it sounded like I singled out the Civic, it was unintentional. They have done it with every car you can think of, Dodge Neon included. I just notice the Civic hatch being stuck with a coffee can more than any other car here; perhaps it's because I dislike them so much that I notice them more. I haven't seen it done to a Focus, yet, but I know it's been done. Other cars I've seen include Preludes and beater Nissans.

Sorry for making it sound like I'm singling out the Civic, which, by the way, didn't drive too badly when I used it in FM3. I just don't like the sound.

Back on topic: I also want to see if I can get a ridiculous car, like the Daihatsu Midget, and try to win a few races in that. Could make for some laughs.

Adorable.

And, if we get the standard $15,000 to buy a car with at the beginning, I should be able to afford it brand new.

I shall start with a basic everyday car, Ford Fiesta would be nice, or a Vauxhall Corsa if there in. A Civic sounds like a good start car too.

What about the $35,000.00 we got in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue?
I wonder if we will be getting that much.

But if the 2011 Mazda2 makes it in the game, I'm going K-Cupping!

I'm changing my answer from earlier. I will have to see what I'm dealing with, probably a used 4 wheel drive thou that way no extra car purchase needed to rally. I keep my first car to the very end : ).

I hope you are right my friend!

You're not alone. They aren't good sounding cars. They are fun to throw around the track though.

I hope not, thats too much! :guilty: ill have my EG6 or whichever i go for baught and upgraded to a descent spec before i have even turned a wheel :indiff:

i want to have to fight for it! i want to lose money if i really mess up!

That is too much, with 35k and GT5's car selection, you would almost never need to drive those bottom feeder autos.

In GT3, I bought the Suzuki Alto, in GT4 it was the Honda Beat. So, most likely another kei car. Probably the Suzuki Cappuccino.

That game had expensive cars in it. It seems foolish to give us that much at the start. It would be a lot more fun to start with low funds and earn the rest.

With GT4, I transfered cash from GT3 as well the gold trophies for bronze trophies. I wont be doing that this time. I'm going to purchase the fastest car I can with the money they give me and build it up from there.

Thats just ignorant saying all Civics arent good sounding cars just because you have heard a few with cheap fart cans.....

Or to say they are cheap - an EK9 will set you back anywhere between £4000 - £8000 in the UK dependant on age or condition, hardly cheap.

Ever heard the term 'stereotype'

Anyone who has been in a Honda with a high revving VTEC engine, the first thing they say is "listen to that engine !!"

Heres some examples....

Before you say "wait thats an integra" - most guys with any sense swaps this motors to their civics.

My friends car

My old Integra Type-R engined Civic with a buddyclub exhaust (yes its loud but it gave me good gains in power).

And an EK9 vs an EP3

Best GT5 starter cars you could ask for :)

The focus is the American attempt to fit in with that "ricer" image as are many. It's a class that has alot of $$$ in it. Also it's all in what you like yourself, every generation has had thier own trend cars you think every person in the 70's loved seeing a LOUD rumbling V8... I doubt it. I love all cars love the rumble of the V's and the high rpm whine of the smaller inlines don't blame the car for peoples personalities.

Well said mate....

Truer words never spoken !

Something European for me! I started GT4 and GT3 with Japanese motors so I reckon it's time to change and move on :) unless I don't have enough credits at the start!
