The BTCC's Most Memorable Racing Era.. The Super Touring Era.. Now in Gran Turismo 6!

In 1990, the British Touring Car Championship moved into a new Era of cars called Class 2 (soon to be known as Super Touring). Cars were allowed to have a maximum engine size of 2.0L in size and had to be based on a family car (such as the Renault Laguna, Vauxhall Vectra, etc.); and because the cars were so equal, it allowed tough, exiting, close racing! However, due to the spiraling costs of these Super Tourers - they left the BTCC at the end of the 2000 Season (although they remained in the Swedish Touring Car Championship until the end of the 2002 Season).

Therefore, the STCC is designed to bring back that exciting, close racing.. All from the comfort of your home!

------------------------------
Rules & Regulations
This Series follows the GTPlanet OLR Rules for acceptable conduct in racing. These rules must be followed at all times!

Pre-Race Procedure: Before Race 1 Qualifying takes place, a Regulations Check shall take place. When your cars are called to the track; stay in the Pit Lane Until Green Flag is given. When you've been placed in Pit Lane - you are not allowed to leave the track to change your setup. This will result in penalization from Race 1. The only circumstance we shall allow you off track for is if you are to Disconnect from the Lounge and have just rejoined. After Race 1, you are allowed to make setup changes in the 10 minute period we have before Race 2 Regulation Checks. Once those checks are complete, stay in the pit lane until the Race Counter has reached 0. Failure to stay in Pit Lane will result in a 10 second time penalty for Race 2.
Qualifying: Before the 15 minute Qualifying Session, a Regulation Check of the cars shall take place. When you enter the Pit Lane - you are NOT ALLOWED to enter the track until the 'Green Flag' is given and everyone is on track. Entering track before Qualifying Starts will result in Disqualification and a Race 1 Penalty of 10 Positions. During the Qualifying, rules still must be followed at all times. When on the Flying Lap (you can have as many Flying Laps as you'd like); do not breach the track limits and be mindful that other drivers around you may also be on a flying lap. On the Off-Laps; keep off the racing line and even pull off the track when faster cars are approaching. When you've finished the Qualifying Laps - return to the Pits and put the game onto Pause. Failure to follow these rules could result in a Race 1 Penalty or even Penalization from the Race 1 results...

Start Procedure: When the timer starts for the race, please do not start acting like a youth in a stolen Datsun. If in the Pits, remain in the pits or if you're on track - please do not starting doing donuts, etc. In the unlikely circumstance that on the race start, someone becomes stuck on the grid and is unable to move - a Red Flag shall be called. Then, a manual grid shall be performed with a Rolling Start.

Pit Stops: During the Mandatory Pit Stop in Race 2; only a tire change is required. When entering the track boundaries again - keep to within the Pit Line and merge back into the race; not causing people to have to dive out of your way.

Track Limits: Depending on the track, these limits will vary and certain corners shall be highlighted in the thread. However, if you breach the track limits more than 3 consecutive times during a race - you will receive a 10 second time penalty which will be added to your time at the end of the race. However, two wheels off the track are allowed - but no more...

ABS: In STCC, we use the ABS to help keep the racing clean and fair. Therefore, drivers not using this mandatory safety device shall be disqualified from that round...

Bump Drafting: Bump Drafting is legal - but you must not risk a crash by doing so. Accidents caused by Bump Drafting will result in severe consequences...

Rage Quitting/Deliberate Retirement: Due to the Reverse Grid for Race 2 - we do not allow purposeful retirements or rage quitting in Race 1. Drivers who do this will cause a Manual Grid to be created - where they will be put at the back of the grid (depending on how early on in the race they left (if there was more than 1 'Retirement'). However, disconnects do not class as 'Deliberate Retirement'.

Collision Procedure: If involved in a collision with another driver (which causes them to loose positions); you must slow down in order to let them retake the position. Failure to do so will result in a switch of positions at the end of the race.

Hybrid Cars: Hybrid (Hacked) Cars are prohibited in this event. If we have good enough suspicions that you're using one of these cars (from being extremely low to the ground - or flying past the other drivers at 300mph) - then you will be permanently banned from any of our future leagues.

Race Chat: Chatting during a race is forbidden in the STCC due to it causing too much of a distraction. If you've arrived late and missed Race 1 - please do not start trying to chat with other users of the lounge. Chatting during races will result in penalization...

------------------------------
Stewarding System & Penalties

The Stewards in STCC are Scaniabebe, V8-Johnboy & SkengD...

If you would like to raise a point about a racing incident; please PM any of our Stewards who will then forward the complaint on to our group discussion. We will only address incidents that have been sent by PM or noticed by ourselves. Please DO NOT address and incidences with the other drivers involved - please leave this to the Stewards.

Time Penalties: During the Qualifying Session, we are unable to save a replay so therefore have our hands tied when it comes to giving time penalties during the Qualifying Period. Therefore, if we receive several complaints and have good suspicions of a driver's action - you shall receive a Race 1 Penalty or even a Warning! In the Feature Race, if you do not pit during the Pit Window - then a 10 Second Time Penalty shall be given. Failure to pit at all during the Race will result in a 60 Second Time Penalty.

Warnings: If warned for your driving; either 1 or 2 points (depending on the severity of the offense) shall be awarded to your license. It is possible to receive more than 1 warning per night, or per race!

One Race Ban: Once 8 Penalty Points have been received; the driver shall be banned from attending the next race event and shall not be welcome in the lounge on the evening. If you receive 8 Penalty Points on the last event of the Season - you're One Race Ban will carry over to the next STCC Season.

Full Season Ban: Once 16 Penalty Points have been received on the driver's license, the driver shall be banned for the rest of the Season. Therefore, shall be not welcome in any events until the start of the following STCC Season. If the driver decides to return in a future Season, he/she shall be closely monitored for Driving Standards.

New Drivers/'Newbies': If a driver is making his debut to the STCC Series and accumulates 4 or more points in his debut event - he shall be put onto a probation where if he collects anymore points on his Racing License - he shall be permanently banned from any future STCC events...

Off Track Behavior: Behavior off the track is just as important as on track. Therefore, penalties or penalization will occur if aggressive/threatening/offensive/disrespectful messages are sent. Drivers who are being targeted are allowed to notify a member of the Stewarding Team who shall investigate the incident further. If messages sent are severe enough; action will then be passed over to the GTPlanet Staff who will take necessary actions!

All Drivers are welcome to appeal any penalties given to them if a reasonable explanation can be provided. Not all penalties are fairly awarded but others will still stand and remain unchanged. Appeals can only be made 24 hours after the Penalties have been provided and results have been published. If your appeal is successful, the Points Tables as well as Race Results will be updated.

New News: Volvo, Toyota and BMW all are possible contenders for competing in the first Season of the STCC.. Check the first post for Specifications..

Any test data for those cars Scania?:)

Well we did get some data for the Peugeot, Nissan, Ford, Alfa, Honda and Renault about a month ago and some changes did need to be made! But I'm going to restart the testing program with a very clever idea! :P

That's why it says "Provisional" in the Car List!

Ok mate and i see your using racing tyres do you plan on launching this with the racing tyre bug still in place? Thinking about your race 2 that is.

We'll have to see how things plan out.. And I will be planning on doing some full distance runs at the Season's Tracks... To see how things go (we may go for just 1 mandatory pit stop or maybe even 2 if needed).

Well, saying the Touring Cars are the only real form of Motor Racing I enjoy these days - you can see why!

Well; first three cars down at Brands Hatch Indy.. All within 0.3 of each other - hopefully not too much tweaking will have to be done! Let's just hope this closeness goes over to the other tracks too!
