I'd like to toss out the idea of using any JGTC or Super GT car tuned to 590PP. Except for power the GT500 cars are virtually identical to the GT300 cars. It would give a much wider variety of cars to choose from.

I ran a number of laps with GT500 cars at 590PP and my lap times were within my margin of error of my times in the GT300 cars.

I like the idea, it will stir things up a bit. 👍

Count me in again. And I'll give the Asparadrink RX7 a try. I also have a few friends that want to try it.

Since the waiting list is growing we need to run 2 rooms. Easy enough to combine results from both races.

I suppose that qualifies as me volunteering to run the second room.

I'm still wainting for the schedule of another race i want to do, but if it doesn't conflict with this one i'm in.

Probably using the Arta again.

And again another track i'm not used to race. Need to practice my braking point to turn 1. Really tricky. :sly:

I am in the same boat. I addef a few kg of ballast and start moving a bit forward until it would rotate around that corner a bit better.

Oki guys, I updated the first post with this weeks event and registrations.

I don't think it's time for two rooms, that would just make this "another race", we'll stick with max 16 racers. The more races you have participated in, the higher are you chances of getting a spot in the next.

As we saw last week there were a few drivers who didn't really qualify to race with us, but still they slipped in. This is solved by only sharing the room privately (drivers should add me as friend on psn), but if we have free spots we can't know how the new drivers will behave until after race start = it could be a disaster.
My suggestion is that all new driver will be put on the waiting list, no mater if there is spots open or not.
These driver then do a 10 lap race and if they behave they will be granted spots according to their race results.

This will take some extra time and management, but will also give us a tighter group and eliminates the risk of getting a race crashed by some prick.

Comments?

Race the B-Main, and top 3 transfer to the A-Main.

But as you mentioned, if they behave. Punt your way to a top 3 (or whatever the number turns out to be) and you will guarantee you NEVER get in the group.

We will need a race steward with a mic to run the qualifier. To issue warnings or eject drivers if necessary.

So what is our take on allowing non GT300 cars into the race? Are we going to go with any car that makes 590pp to race? My reason for questioning this is becuase last night I was playing around with an Acura NSX-R LM prototype that I de-tuned down to 590pp and I was able to knock 3.3sec off my best Garaiya time. And that was without any real tuning or practice, did it on my 3rd lap with this car.

I like the idea of having a larger pool of cars to choose from but I don't want to loose the focus of what these races are about, and that is a GT300 race.

So what do you guys think? GT300 only? GT300 and GT500 only? or any car that makes allowable PP?

ZyBeR this is your gig so I don't want to overstep my bounds here but I would like to know which way were going here so I can find a car I like and get some windshield time with it before Sunday. Not that this really matters becuse I'll probabaly get smoked again this weekend.

Personally I think we keep it as GT300's only. We are getting close races and the positioning is basically down to driver skill. We are having people in the same cars finishing in the top 3 and in the bottom half so I think we've got it pretty much how it was meant to be now.

I think we could include any car that falls in to the 355 HP and 1100 kg stock such as touring cars for a bit of variety. I have noticed that i am getting very close times in gt300 class cars versus detuning 600+ HP cars. Although considering we started with a gt300 class race we should probably stick with them unless the general consensus is otherwise.

Looks like we've reached consensus on 590PP.

As to what cars are allowed...

My vote is any car that qualifies under the old rules, plus any car that is specifically JGTC or SUPER GT. These are theoretically the same cars, with only horsepower differences. Some of the GT300 cars are called JGTC, some are called SUPER GT. The same is true of GT500.

We do need to nail this down so we can tune for Sunday's race.

I agree with Jay, JGTC & SuperGT cars only, there are plenty to choose from. 590pp sounds fine also, are we keeping race-medium tires?

Racing mediums at 590 pp and limiting to jgtc and super gt cars sounds like the best plan. Should be some nice close races.

Well it's a casual series with no points or standings so there's really nothing to lose by opening it up to all JGTC/SUPER GT cars. If we find that it imbalances the field then we make adjustments. The PP feature is new and we're all learning together.

Sorry again for being inactive guys, back in Barcelona for work.. Looks like the general consensus is SuperGT cars with <=590pp.

I say, let's give those rules a try for this Sundays race, if they turn out not so good as hoped we have at least learnt a lesson and can adjust for the better until next race.

I guess it depends on the car.The RX7 should run in the 41-42 range and the IS350 is 1-2 sec slower.

Haha, looks like I've got some work to do. I'm way off the pace at the moment.

Id like to join in as well, sounds like fun.
Though I am not too familiar with with the gt300 class, i'll have somethin ready.

Same here. My charming and thoughtful wife bought me an dfgt today for my birthday and it is taking sometime to get use to. I can't get below 1.47 with it and am still 2 seconded faster with the ds3.

I ran a 41 today in the Arta and in a JGTC NSX. I feel I left at least a second on the table so I predict 40s for the faster guys. Maybe even a 39.

It takes time to get used to driving with a wheel, but eventually you'll beat your DS3 times.

Ok just to clarify.
any GT300 or GT500 car is eligable, as long as it has a max of 590pp.
HP and weight are not a factor as long as it makes the 590pp limit.
Tires are still Racing hards or mediums.
Is this correct? Are we all in agreement (for now) on this?

Butch,
JGTC NSX is just the name of the Acura NSX that was designed for the JGTC race series. JGTC, SuperGT, GT300, GT500 are all interchangable names for the race series that is run in Japan.

One small but important point. The tires are racing medium only, unless I've completely misunderstood.
