The problem is that the release date is getting closer and closer to a bunch of other releases like Shift, Forza, Dirt and GT. An August release means a September release for NA. If GT is a december release, I'm probably more likely to wait for that. Of course if they release it early and it isn't ready they will have ruined their reputation especially after what happened with FC.
 
I'd be happy to buy it alongside GT, and i'd sooner buy it before shift/dirt/forza and whatever else shows up....

Obviously GT will take up alot of time, but i love the "feel" of FC and SCC is a must buy.
 
Who knows when GT5 will be out. If it is December, then the other big questions is: what will be like. If it is the be-all & end-all of racing games, with damage, weather, time-of-day, full online functionality, hundreds of cars, scores of tracks, great physics, great FFB etc. etc. then SCC won't stand much of a chance. But if it's lacking in some of these areas, there may still be room for SCC...
 
Even if GT 5 is the greatest thing since sliced bread I'll probably still buy SCC.
 
System 3's website says August. My bet is September. I can't tell you why, but since yesterday my hopes for SCC got a BIG boost :)

Just kidding. Actually I know what the reason is too. But unfortunately I can't tell you either. :) But suffice to say, I think I'll probably buy SCC as well.

just downloaded SCC beta. Have to say very dissapointed. I was expecting it to look so much better than FC. Anyway, played it for about an hour and had some good races online. Need to find 1 second from somewhere to set a good time at Spa and good to see increased penalties for corner cutting!

My feelings exactly. I'm perfectly comfortable with the way FC looks, but in order to justify putting out a new game, there really need to be some significant improvements over FC: a lot of new tracks? a lot of new cars? much improved graphics? I just don't see this in SCC. I don't know how different the final game might be from the beta, but at this point the graphics, while less "artificial" in colour than FC, are not what I would consider significantly improved.
 
I honestly didnt think it looked so bad... then again... I didnt play FC either... Im hoping to go pick it up today... PAL release was scheduled for today... unless it got moved back... ??
 
Yeah, it's been moved back. It was August 28th for quite a while and their website still shows August 28th but I've seen more than one post in the last 24hrs from somebody contacted by their retailer that it won't be shipping until early September. So I'm guessing it's rolled yet again.

Release dates get pushed back and shuffled on a regular basis. But this is a joke and a half. You expect to hear that it's slipped from quarter 1 to quarter 2. And maybe again from quarter 2 to quarter 3. But before SCC even had a name, they were talking about a Jan/Feb release. Since then I've heard at least 10 different dates mentioned. One would think that 8 days before the alleged release they'd be able to get a handle on it.
 
Well I know of someone that received and email today from GAME saying it was delayed until 4th September and then, a couple of hours later, he got another email from GAME saying it's the 28th August.

Could it be a correction email?
 
I'll go ahead and buy a copy, eventually, simply because I feel sorry for Eutechnyx and System 3 getting stomped by GT5 and to a lesser extent Forza 3. I pray though that they've tweaked out that FM2 handling, and the driver views don't blow, or I doubt I'll race it much at all.

By the way, I googled earlier in the week and there's still no news about SCC being released in the States.
 
Well I'm grateful that I got a Beta trial of SCC, at least now I know NOT to pay full price for this game. I'll prob pick it up when its cheap enough.

Maybe the full game will reveal something not evident in the Beta, but at this point I just don't see a compelling reason to buy SCC if you already have FC. :indiff:
 
This game looks and sounds horrible in my opinion. I have a feeling it's the kind of game no one rember in 2 or 3 years.

I do, I think SCC is a good leap forward in terms of physics/FFB, overall polish, online play with an assortment of new cars/tracks. Sure its not the numbers of some other games, but the quality, I feel, is there.

In saying that, i probably won't be picking up the game just due to the timing of it. Too many games I want coming out in the next few months I don't have time to play them, and with 2 Gran Turismo titles due this year, other racing titles are getting the backseat. Which sucks because both SCC and NFS:Shift look great and if GT wasn't coming, I would pick them both up without blinking an eye, but I know if I do, I just won't have the time to put into them to justify the purchase...

I'm getting it as it's got that instant Race apeal, no mucking about with all the whistles and bells of GT5 and Forza, just jump in and race. Don't get me wrong I Love bothe the GT and Forza games but theres definatly a place for flat out track racing, especialy the online side of it. I've been in the Beta for a while so I can't really say anything specific but expect a lot of people raving when they get there hands on it!

Yeah matey, I was the one slightly drunk at the back who then had a storming race and finished in 3rd when we did the 7 lap spa race in the rain........I blame the alcohol, LOL. I really need to hit it hard to get back up to speed but I'm waiting for the full release to really give it the time it deserves.

Just looked at your gamertag! 1.54's at nurenburgh was seriously flying! I did jump out your way on one race but you were without coms so wasn't sure if you could here me. Fantastic racing, with a few silly moments but overall a good night though you were so far up the road you probubley missed most of it after you passed us all on the first lap LOL

Oh yeah your not called Dawn then?................ROLF
