Hi Bullie77,

Rather than rehash everything all over again, I suggest you have a look here:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=119867&page=6

Start from post 118 down and read on from there. The back and forth exchange should give you answers to some of your questions. But I'm not sure about the McLaren always skidding to the left. I can't say I've ever recalled that particular issue. Many of the cars get very 'loose' under braking, darting one way or the other. But if it's happening the same way every time in different spots, it's kind of odd.

Does anyone besides me love driving in the rain? Ever since I did it the first time and did well, I absolutely lovin it. I've gotten to the point to where I'll intentionally get on the throttle too early just to drift out of some corners, its that much fun.

👍 Thanks for the help, I'll give it a look

bullie, do you have any news about the release of SCC in our country? Still nothing from FNAC, only interesting information is that the game will cost 49,99 € (at least that's what was on display in the store guy's computer). He said FNAC-Chiado ordered five copies but didn't know when they would be available for sale.

I have a quick question because I can´t find any answer in the SCC manual...

Whats that number mean on the right side of your hotlap?

For example 1:22:455 (8)

ok I have the game( I have chosen between shift and SCC......) 👍
I hope to have now also the leisure time to play it....:ouch:
and to be able to make some video 💡

see you online next time :)

ciao ciao 👍

...and to be able to make some video 💡

Now THIS I'm looking forward to. I've really been pushing the guys at Eutechnyx to patch in the ability to SAVE replays both for off-line and more importantly for on-line races. It would be so much easier to record and edit video if you could save them. And just think how much fun it would be so save the replays from some of our on-line events.

Anybody who thinks this is a good idea might want to wander over to Eutechnyx and give them a shout. :) Please.

Yeah that would be amazing. Say you had 8 people racing, and they all send their replays to someone to edit them together to do a proper highlight show of the race.

Damn, as soon as I have the PS3 again I have to practice for my F1 CE tournament. I'm locked in a desperate struggle for supremacy with last year's WC runner up, Kakundoo. I can't afford to show up to races without practicing or I'll get trounced. You can follow our battle here

Also here's my individual race reports:

Bahrain

Sepang

Melbourne

Imola

It's funny, after playing SCC for just a couple of hours, I was so rusty at F1 CE. Now I know how Luca Badoer must have felt.

I received both Supercar Challenge and Need for Speed: Shift within a few days of each other. Going back and forth between them is a bit difficult because they require very different driving styles. They each do some things particularly well and fall short in other areas. I think I was pleasantly surprised by SCC because from my experience with Ferrari Challenge and as a Beta Tester for this game, my expectations were a bit low. And I was surprised to find that they made many little tweaks and improvements which make a significant difference in the game play. At least to me. Shift, on the other hand, was hyped to the point that it could have been the holy grail on a platter and I would have been disappointed. So I think my pre-game expectations have ultimately contributed significantly to my feelings on the games now.

I love playing shift because the sound and game play is so raw and in your face. Taking the Elise out for a few laps of the ring or Spa is a visual and audio feast and I can't get enough. Yesterday I went back to SCC for the first time in a few days. It took me 3-4 laps to really adjust my driving style. Everything felt so cold, so clinical in comparison to Shift. But last night after running a few challenge rounds, I've ultimately come to the conclusion that SCC really offers the better 'racing' experience.

There, I said it. :) For the rest of you who have both, what do you think?

I wish could have the full game and not just this Demo I've been playing. Its been enjoyable, but its made me want the full thing every time I play it.

I bought it this lunch time. It's not an easy game to find on sale. I'm just trying out the Tutorial section and learning how to spin an MC12 at Monza!

Hi everyone, I wanted to register to say that in answer to jjaisli`s post I think SCC is greater than Shift by a huge margin. SCC is an exciting game to play and a deep game. Shift is well marketed, but perhaps it is only so popular because of the lack of good driving games on the PS3. Who knows? As has been said, it really is caught between the sim and arcade camps. It is neither realistic nor a lot of fun, to me, and doesn`t know what it wants to be. It`s a shame that SCC couldn`t have taken some sales off Shift if this desire for a racing game is there. If people played SCC I`m sure a lot of them would prefer it. It`s not perfect by any means and is quite cold until you get to the driving part, but the driving is just so much superior to Shift in every way that I wouldn`t know where to start or finish my post :)

Wait a minute--I thought online for F1CE ended in May...

US servers only, or so I read somewhere. You guys don't have a GP, no point in online F1 gaming :sly:

... humm ... I'm just joking, ok? 💡

Yeah, unfortunately the NTSC servers have been shut down, but a few of their old racers like Zeroduck and Hemiata have picked up PAL copies of it and are still playing away.

Well, I had very limited seat time with F1:CE and was only playing for a month when I learned the on-line was shutting down. So I didn't bother much with it after that. And to be honest, I enjoyed hot lapping the Lotus 72 or Cooper Climax more than the modern F1 cars anyway. Go figure.

@ Mario. Judging by this fine reply of yours, I'm guessing you've already made up your mind before turning a wheel in SCC. ;)

Modern F1 cars can't compare to old F1 cars when we're talking about gaming. That's why the most successful F1 game in history is GP Legends.

Yes, my mind is made up. I'll be playing SCC when it is available here.

Ok, so here goes. And as a disclaimer this is my opinion.

Sorry guys, this game is dull. I've had it on rental for about 2 weeks now, everytime I go on and play it I find myself bored after half a race. It lacks any of the excitement and thrills that a normal racing game provide. Heck, even GT5P (which even I thought was boring at times) seems like a exciting action packed game compared to this. Which is what I can't understand. Ferrari Challenge I found enjoyable, I played that quite a bit and even got round to almost completing it, my only gripe with it was that it was only Ferrari's. When I heard about SCC I thought, "Great! Not all Ferrari's this time! This should be awesome!" so how come when I play it, I find it more boring than Ferrari Challenge? One thing which I've found immediately is that the AI seem to stick to the the racing line like glue and don't seem to do anything...well...interesting. I'm really not impressed with this game at all, and the interior view on some of the cars is ghastly. The graphics aren't improved much compared to FC either, seriously I swear I had more fun on the Beta than this, and thats saying something.

I will give this game one more chance, but I highly doubt my opinion will be changing.

In my opinion, the single defining aspect of Ferrari Challenge, and why it was a hit with me personally, was the strong, tight knit community which formed around the on-line play. Being able to select the track, the conditions, the number of laps, the car and having voice chat in race and in the lobby made it ideal for mini tournaments. I think at this point, the sense of on-line community is still missing from Supercar Challenge as people are busy building up their off-line experience, myself included. And the fact that it was released just before a power house like NFS Shift didn't do them any favors.

To me, racing against the AI will always be dull. And SCC, like FC, is rather cold and clinical in it's approach to driving. Going from Shift, which is very alive with it's shaking and jarring and in-your-face, style, really highlights just how 'stale' Supercar Challenge can be. And I think Shift gives one a much better sensation of being in the car and feeling the speed. It's very engrossing. But I think in the end, we're all looking for cars that perform and react and drive on the screen as close to how they do in real life as the developers can make them. And from that perspective, SCC has it beat, hands down.

What I would suggest Speedster502, would be to return the game and rent it again in about a month's time and start racing on-line. I'm guessing by then more people will be on-line. Currently, there are a lot of people who downloaded the public beta and the lobbies are dominated by only those two tracks. There's nothing wrong with Spa. But in my opinion, it's a lot more interesting in say, the 348 Challenge, than it is in the DB9R.

So GT5 is delayed until March next year....in Japan. GT4 was released in Europe 3 months after the Japan release, so by that logic it won't be till June until I have a copy of Gran Turismo 5 in my hands.

In which case, perhaps SCC's proverbial bacon has been saved. Hopefully this news will give SCC a chance to thrive and not get squashed in between the bohemoths of EA and Sony as looked like being the case.

I was wondering how I was going to fit SCC in between my F1 CE tournament and GT coming out by Christmas, but that's old news now. Unlike the GT diehards, I'm quietly content to have SCC to keep me going till then, I might even pick up a copy of Shift if the demo is good. Seems pretty amazing that even F1 2010, a game which has been delayed for the best part of a year, could well be out in Europe before GT5 though. Unlike most people here, I'm more of an F1 fan than a car/all round motorsport fan really. In which case, I might not even feel the need to buy GT5 for some time.

Sorry, I realise this has rambled slightly off topic :dunce: but hopefully we can build an SCC community to rival that of FC now at least.

We'd stand a better chance if System 3 was actually interested in selling the game. Still no word on a North American (NTSC) release, still not available in Scandinavian countries, still not available in Portugal...

I remember reading you once joking about how difficult it is to find copies of System 3 games. When I went into GAME to pick up a copy, they said that they were all sold out of the 4 copies they had been sent for its release. 4 copies? Someone else said on this forum somewhere that one store only had one copy ordered in. One copy!

I have made the first turns with SCC,I find it good even if with many defects inherited by FC ....
nevertheless the game and' best than I hoped .
I have tried shift from a friend but he has not sincerely struck me :indiff:

with surprise I have tried the setup of SCC , even if and' limited in the options the changes are felt in track :) ,interesting.

System 3 had to have more' courage and the product would perhaps have been best ,also the marketing had to be best .
I have tried to make drift with the very amusing F365 👍 I will try' to make some video :)

bye 👍

Hi pino, so you can setup the cars for any mode? or is it like FC where you had (very limited) setup options and only in Challenge mode?

PS - btw, and not SCC related, do you have Superstars V8?

Hi pino, so you can setup the cars for any mode? or is it like FC where you had (very limited) setup options and only in Challenge mode?

Yes, as far as i'm aware the set up changes will apply to every mode, but i've yet to try it online to see if there's a difference. However the set up options are rather limited. The only ones you can finely tune are ride height (front and rear), camber and toe. The rest like dampers, anti roll bars etc. are either just soft or hard. Still with all the cars and their various different handling characteristics, I really feel that this is enough. It'd be a bit over whelming if you could absolutely fine tune everything. The only time i've enjoyed fine tuning cars is in F1 CE, but then there are only 11 different cars to tune, so it seemed manageable to me. Just my humble opinion of course.

I'd say I visited every game shop here in Dublin couple of weeks ago. One of them told me that each store had only been given 3 copies or something.

About the car setups - You have a limited car setup which is only editable from the main menu. So if you're online, you have to quit the lobby etc. and go back to the main menu. That's even if the setups make a difference in online play - not sure. I havn't bothered with the setups because the one thing I wanted to do is soften the suspension on 333SP and some other cars, but the softest setting is the default already.
