dj thanks for put my country flag in the results

Hey no prob, but looking at the replay I just wanna let you know that you have room for some cleaner racing LOL. I know you got a lot of lag but try to be a little bit more careful when you race.

A little bit of contact happens but your replay suggest that you can stand to be a little less aggressive.

DJ sorry for the bad things , my intention was not to be aggressive I remember a collission at the end of the straight but for misscalculation , Ill be more clean

I think we should do some practice runs and check out these shortcuts and see how bad they are. I'm generally against penalties because I feel they are inconsistent and having cars run through other cars just feels silly but if circumstances call for them we will put them in place.

As for this weeks race thats exactly what I want to do. If we can figure out what time works best to get the time change effect that would be awesome. Also we need to determine the number of laps. I want at least 45 minutes of racing.

As for next season the 2nd race will be a 500PP RM battle which you can use any RM car you want (as long as its 500PP). I would also like to do some more one or two make RM races. Remember to add your suggestions to the Suggestions thread in our websites forum.

I remember racing online once where the host encouraged shortcuts--there are at least 3 corners where you can gain a lot of time (even more so than Monza's 2nd chicane) because those corners all lead onto long straights. I agree about the ghosting, but with this track, I think we should enforce penalties (do look at replay is too much work).

Let's run some practice together this week and figure out the time change thing. I think we just have to work on the start time and the time change ratio (I forget the exact terms).

Sounds good snoopy, i'll look out for you when i'm on my ps3. Assuming the kids let go of it at all...damn easter vacation has them home alllll week!

But that would run counter to my anti-apple philosophy!!! I'm getting them a Wii sometime soon hopefully so that way i can keep them off my PS3 LOL

DJ, I prefer Apple stuff because I get tired of fixing my MS machines...

Here are some more ideas for Season 2:

NSX v Ferrari (not sure which one, need to make sure evenly matched)
Honda designed to NSX to be a Ferrari beater, and succeed in many ways to make the Ferraris we have today more driveable and reliable

GT-R v LF-A
I would rather pit the GT-R against the 911 Turbo (or maybe a RUF?), but we do not have that car. So the next best thing is the LF-A

Here are some more ideas for Season 2 (edited):

Honda/Acura NSX v Ferrari [TBD] (not sure which one, need to make sure evenly matched)
Honda designed to NSX to be a Ferrari beater, and succeed in many ways to make the Ferraris we have today more driveable and reliable

Nissan GT-R v RUF CTR2 (closest thing to a 911 Turbo)

Lexus IS-F v BMW M3

sprint races (a series of 10 lap races with reverse grid order)

Hey guys I was practicing today and was running 4:16/4:17s in my M5. I was able to squeeze 6 laps before my tires were shot. That last lap was pretty hairy though! The bumpy nature of the track likes to unsettle the car and make it slide a LOT. Dj if you're still undecided on laps it looks like 11 should stick you in that 45-50 minute range. Oh and if nobody minds me asking how is everyone getting 550pp? Getting rid of weight or adding power? I went the weight route and stripped my BMW of all the weight I could.

Since I'm already babbling I found some a useful thread on here about time progression (would post link but I'm on an iPhone). If you set it at 1, one real second equals a second in game, set it at 60 and 1 real second equals 60 in game seconds. Basically if we want a 50/50 day/night split (I think thats what someone said they were going for) we should start and end at the same time. So I figure if we average 256 seconds/lap (4:16) and we do 11 laps, that will be 2816 real seconds. We want to cover 86,400 in game seconds (one full day) so 86,400/2816 equals 30.681, so ideally a time progression of 31 would be appropriate. Sorry if you already had it figured out, just thought I'd share!

All those numbers......head hurts...LOL Wow, thanks for doing the math cheeze! Math is one thing I am NOT good at and I really appreciate your work. As for laps I was also thinking 11 laps would be a good idea as well. 45 minutes is what were aiming for and I think 11 laps plus pit would be right around there.

As for meeting the limit, i'm not to sure on the beemer but I went weight reduction on the Benz. Gonna try the beemer out tonight.

No problem! Now I'm just going to feel really stupid if it turns out to horribly off the mark hahaha!

That track sure is pretty at night. As much as I like fire works, it's going to be tough to keep my eyes on the road. I do tend to get drowsy, when driving at night. I think I better chug a Red Bull during my pit stop.

The lag was getting to me last week. My times were a lot slower during the race, than during practice. My fastest lap in the race was 1:31.8. Right after we finished, I got in my lounge and my first 2 laps were in the 1:29's. I don't mind unplugging my mic during the race. About all I ever say during a race is "sorry" anyway. Turning the chat quality down is a good idea, DJ.

Good work, Cheeseburger!

Yep. Same story here.

Okay I have decided that 11 laps should just about do it. So be prepared for an 11 lap race. Also this course has many areas where people can cut chicanes. To combat cutting we will be using STRONG penalties in this race.

On corners that don't assign penalties feel free to drive through them however you feel but please do not cause any collisions with other racers that may be driving a correct driving line.

We're gonna depend on the old Honor System here fellas so don't let me down!

As for turning the headsets off lets try to see what turning down the quality of the voice chat does first. I don't want you guys missing the sound of my voice you know! LMAO:gtpflag:

DJ, roadrash and I did a test. Start time at 15:00 and time progression at 20 should be just the right split between day/night.

Driving line should be off. Some drivers only look at that at night, not traffic, which causes late braking and wrecks.

Well the penalties will be on so hopefully the cars can go "ghost" and avoid collisions. If everybody feels better with the line off though let me know and we'll go from there.

DJ, yes roadrash and I did 12 laps. Time change worked out good.

As for shortcuts, I vote to use honor system (and replay) so that no shortcuts allowed. Even with penalties on it is possible.

I vote for driving line off too.

I think forcing the driving line off will cause more wrecks than on. due to drivers that use it and are practicing with it wont know where they're braking zones are. this really isnt a hard core league and changing assists for the last race isn't a good idea. and if it is going to be turned off members should be notified asap.

After reading Roadrash's post, I now agree that driving line should be at the discretion of the player.

DJ, I think we can bump it up 1 lap to 12 laps.

yes 12 laps would be good. the way we ran the time progression last night we'll get a nice transition from light to dark to light again. it will give the feeling of a 24 hour race. also i strongly discourage track cutting. in my experience racing online people that cut usually end up wrecking themselves or someone else. I think most of the people in our league are honest clean drivers that dont need to cut corners

Done and done. Also i think its a good idea to leave the driving line up to the discretion of the racer.

I'm at the mall with my fiancée shopping for maternity clothes sooooo it looks like I won't be on anytime soon. If anybody on here is not busy I would suggest practicing with Snoopy and the other guys. It will really help u to get faster
