Saleen S7!
(Though I'm sure if I spent a little more time adjusting the settings, my opinion would change but as of right now, in 'stock' form, it's not all that and a bag of chips!:D)

I was disappointed in the S7s sound. It sounds like a Viper. :dunce: Where's the 7Liter V8 at?

Good: The EK9, for an FF it has great handling.
Bad: Ford GT, is it me or does this thing refuse to slow down?

AMEN to that! I totally agree with everything you say. Everybody hates the EK9 but it does have great handling. And the Ford GT, I bought because I thought it was so good but it doesnt want to stop from gear 6-1...
 
I didn't think the AC Cobra would be any good because my Shelby in GT3 wasn't too fast. I took one out on the ring in GT4 and beat an Aston Martin DB7. Very fast car and fun to drive.

One car I can't stand is the TVR Speed Twelve, I haven't done any modifications yet but in stock form it doesn't handle very well. The constant spinning of the rear wheels also keep it from accelerating as fast, which it would be very good at.
 
I will have to say my 2 favourite cars are the Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept and the Caterham 7.....extremely fun cars and they both sound fantastic once fully tuned.

However the car the surprised me the most was The Camaro LM Edition....a fantastic drive of a car. I like the way the FR caracteristics of this car allow you accelerate out of a corner. Going too fast? No problem just take your foot off the gas for a bit and then accelerate and the power from the rear wheels literally turns the car into the corner. It's brilliant.

I actually got mine to manage about 75 km/ph downhill at the ring....which was quite fun, and looks ecxellent on the replay.Especially if you fast forward it with the L3 button and turn your TV to black and white. aaaah...nostalgia. :)
 
I was really looking forward to the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI DTM car, basically for its looks. Got it, and then took it out for a spin around 'the ring'.. ..and the car is wonderful! Its just as fast as I want it to be and handles like a dream. Very pleasantly surprised by it. Lovely car! 👍

I have to agree with most people about the Ford GT's breakes though.. Albeit I haven't tried to upgrade them yet, so... :indiff:

All in all, fantastic game and I'm having a blast with the endurances!

Oh hell yes, that car is quite the little speed demon fully upgraded.


The Good:
Skylines Skylines SKYLINES! OH THE SHEER AMOUNT OF BLOODY SKYLINES!
woot to Nissan in general, very very good representation in GT4.
More Euro cars! Finally no more 90-5-5 ratio of Japanese vs US/EU.
New mode Driving Missions! Gotta love this.
Trucks!
More classic and used cars then you could imagine...I spend $100K's money buying up used cars.
Better BMW representation.
More things to do.

Alot more but I'll spare it for another post.

The Bad:
The shaky camera.
The penalties when the computer car hits you or you hit the computer car.
No GTO/3000GT representation...only a few used ones? Screw that ****.
No multi-colored Zonda.
The brakes need to be tweaked on a few cars.
Haven't seen any of the car I own in real life yet: '98 200SX SE-R. = (
Autosave can't be COMPLETELY turned off...good idea bad implimentation.
Obvious bias towards Japanese cars again, this time it's more subtle.
No Rover saloons or coupes...and no MG ZT! That car is freaking awsome...how can you not have that in.
No Carrera GT equivalent? Not even a fake RUF tuned one? Such a beautiful car not to be in here in some form or fashion.
Needs more organized used car lots, if there's a duplicate car model put them together in a seperate menu instead of just putting them all in one long ass menu.
Engine noise and soundtrack needs work...
Endurance races that require you to race for more than 4 hours...this is the reason why you grab a cheat device or Bspec it. Rediculous time required on some endurance races.
No Shelby GT500?
No STR-10 Dodge Ram?
No Nissan Titan or Armada?
Or the new Frontier?
Again, no Nissan Maximas or Altimas.
No Toyota Camry.
Not enough VW's.
DMC is an American company...but the bloody car was made in Ireland...so put the company in the EU section...and at least either offer an authentic year or 2 model years.
There's more minor stuff...but I'll keep it to myself.

The Ugly:
Jay Leno's Tank Car...slow, too long, and just stupid. There are much more interesting "specialty" cars top put in like for one "Eleanor" from Gone in 60 seconds with Nicolas Cage.
 
I was very disappointed by the Saleen S7 when I drove it in the super license test. I was expecting that car so much and it turns out to handle like a 70's muscle car. :guilty:

And as someone already mentionned, the brakes on the Ford GT ain't worth ****. they are worse than the ones on the original model, like if Ford decided to use vintage brakes for fun.
 
I was pleasantly surprised by the ginetta G4 and the Chaparral 2d. I am usually not a old car or a small car fan, but these two are a blast. I ran the 2d stock(even added weight to it) and won the dream car championship easily.

Lister Storm (they seemed to have fixed the handling)
MGF '97 (for a cheap used car it is great at the beginning of the game)

Bad:
Cizetta (what a piece of...)
Zonda (PD didn't fix the brakes again. This car can't stop)

ya it brakes horrible but the lemans race version is sweet the car brakes awsome

I was very suprised to see the Cizette in GT4. I have a few original car mags where they were tested. The designer of the Diablo left Lamborghini to create his own car (like the front of the Cizetta wasn't obvious).
IIRC - the reviews of the Cizetta were not great - not very many were made.

Suprisingly, I like the Zonda. I have the brake booster pushed forward, squeels shudders a bit on hard braking but they work.

The zonda lm race car is sick i love that car brakes amazingly
 
dunno if it's been mentioned but I just bought a Buick Special and it handles well above my expectations!! being a big american car didn't think it would turn at all!
 
A few more I've found...

Good:
Audi Nuvolari Quattro - Fast as hell and handles great.
MG TF-160 - This little thing is a pleasure to drive. Amazing handling for an FF car.

Bad:
Cizetta - Pretty sad when an Italian supercar handles worse than my real-life '87 Buick Lesabre with busted shocks... Does this car understeer this badly in real life, I wonder? I ran this thing at Monaco and would still bounce off the walls at the chicane and hairpins after slowing to <15mph... It's almost as bad as that dragster from GT3.
 
I really like the handling of the DTM cars. The big LM cars a too nervous but with a 600 BHP GT-One you can not win the top races. I did not try all of the LM cars, maybe i will buy a Pescarolo, I heard of it being quite nice to drive.
 
The Cizeta C16V is about as close as you'll get to seeing some exotic Italian machinery in GT4 that resembles a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. But damn... it's horrible to race with! Even the AI racers screw up with the Cizeta in stock form. It looks like a Lamborghini from the front, a Ferrari Testarossa from the sides, but when it's all said and done, you'll wish you could have played any racing game with a Ferrari or Lamborghini. I just used this car to win La Festa Italiano. Got a much better car that I eventually took to Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (or in the game, Deutsche Touring Car Meisterschaft) and won it all.

In terms of good surprise cars, my pick is the BMW M5. How many PRODUCTION CARS have seven gears and a great top speed? Even with a few modifications in the BMW Race Championship featuring M-Class cars, this 499hp BMW M5 really kicks ass. If you dislike Chris Bangle's design of this machine, then just like most American cars, if you don't like its outside, you may just like its inside. The motor, that is. I'd recommend the BMW M5 in the Club "M" Championship. While expensive, it's all business.

In terms of other surprises, I was surprised at PD's attempt at getting in Le Mans. Past GT gamers may remember all the "LM Race Car" cars included in past games. Honda Del Sol LM (one of the worst Gran Turismo cars EVER), Nissan 350Z Concept LM, Honda S2000 LM Race Car, Camaro Race Car, Mitsubishi FTO LM Race Car... and now there's a Le Mans track to put them to the test. It's available in two versions to meet the needs of different racing types alike.

So, there you have my surprises. Need I say more?
 
Mine's Skyline N1

Woah! The sound is very nice! The gearing is near perfection!

Just AWESOME! A must buy! I did the Nurb 10 laps before even realising that a hour went past!
 
Two other bad surprises I found: Ruf CTR Yellow Bird: handles like a soap bar in a bath, really dont' know what the hype's all about. And the MB SL600 R129. The gears are so badly staged, you're always 1 gear too high or 1 gear too low, the engine runs in low RPM (4000-5000) and altough it has 500hp, I don't feel any power from that V12.
 
Mentioned quite a few times, but is really a well kept secret: The '62 Buick is 100% Pure Ownage. :bowdown: So far, the tally goes about 5 endurance race wins in this single car. The 1970 Crarger R/T is very suprising in the handling deparment for weighing in at 3600 lbs. Found the Amuse CarbonR to be fun...and I managed to find the only Skyline they did not idolize: the 1962(?) with, like, 65 hp. :lol: The Chevrolet SS Concept is a complete blast, with brakes that will damn near rip your head off. The 1988 Camaro handles incredibly well...too bad it didn't have power to back it up. :( The Trial Celica is amazing, but by popular consensous, it sucks. Dunno what that is about, it rocks. :confused:

On the other side of the street, well...the Option Stream Z sucks. Entirely. My beloved Superbird does pretty well at the high speed stuff (228 mph), but turning? Forget it. My Chapparal 2D...well let's say a 3-speed auto can cut it only so far. The Saleen...ugh. Ahh! The 'rebadged Holden' even with 30 more horses is still about 15 mph slower, but I suppose it could serve as the factory drift car look-alike. The 1886 rides should go 150! (j/k ;)) The HSR-II concept should handle a lot better than it does, especially with all that cool active-aero technology. The R390 road car--it still only goes 160. WTH, it was made to go 200. Oh well, can't have it all, I suppose.

Another surprise is the Nissan GT-R Concept LM Race Car. While it's a concept machine modded out to be a race car, let me ask you. Can you get away with saying this thing accelerates like an F1 car? If you can ignore its looks, the machine accelerates and goes through gears like an F1 machine... only faster, but not at the top speed of an F1 racer. In terms of handling, it's probably better with Racing Mediums or Super Softs. Other than that, handling is not very good. I don't really like that Skyline concept from Gran Turismo Concept and GT4, but if the LM Race Car concept of this machine is any indication, Toyota and Honda may have a tough time trying to beat Nissan in Super GT (formerly the JGTC).

A car I recently got in the game was the BMW M3 GTR Race Car. I remember seeing that exact same BMW race in the American Le Mans Series and simply taking it to Porsche. It's a great shame that they are not as active in GT from what I've seen. Only BMW race cars I see in sportscar racing is the Prototype Technology Group BMWs in Rolex Sports Cars.

One last surprise- the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR. Beautiful car. Fast car. Capable car. But as we say in the sports reporters' world, "can't win the big one." Unless you have skill and tuning at your side, you'll have a tough time in the big leauge races in GT4. I liked it a lot until it just didn't really perform very well. If Gran Turismo had different types of race winners (for example, Prototype, GT1, GT2, etc.) I'd probably win with it, but don't expect to beat a Nissan R92CP with it in a 15-lap race at Grand Valley.
 
Good surprises:

Audi R8 LM Race Car '01: Ha, this car is fast as lightning with good enough handling albeit not as fast as the Red and Blue Nissan R92CP (because the R92CP's speed is more than 270+ MPH). Just put a stage 4 turbo kit in it and the R8 will run like the wind in any given straightaways.

Toyota Minolta 88-CV Race Car '89: Just as fast. Also, the cool factor is very high and this car can be easily obtained after winning the El Capitan endurance race.

Bad surprises:

Audi McLaren Quattro Concept Car: While the looks of the car is great and it has a high top speed, it quickly shows it bad side; the braking is horrible and it understeers with egregious results. PD should be put to shame for ruining a beautiful, fast-as-hell car by marring its performance with such sorely bad braking and uber-horrible handling.

Jet Black Nissan R92CP Race Car '92: Although this car is very fast and has decent enough handling, at the fifth gear, it suddenly stops to about 237-238 MPH and won't go any further while on straightaways. Compared to the original Red and Blue version of the R92CP, the Red and Blue version blows the Jet Black version out of the water by far more superior top speed (about more than 270+ MPH).

Congrats, PD. You've released a game with a few... no, wait, several unfixed bugs 👎 :grumpy:
