It takes years of practice.... It takes a long time to get used to the body positioning needed for various tricks, let alone the foot work... Just keep trying...

I've just started skating again a few days ago after like a 2 year break, I got my kickfips back but im not rly getting any clearance from the ground. I also re-learnt a gap at my local skatepark but I still need to get it smoothly. Hopefully within the next week I can get a few photos as I gradually progress and learn all my tricks again. I landed a kickflip on my first proper skate yesterday so I should learn it all again pretty quickly. I also dropped in all the ramps at my local skatepark too.

You americans, canadians etc. are so lucky! You have really nice skateparks with well looked after ramps. The yall get burnt down at my local one and the ramps are covered in crappy graffiti and big holes. It's dangerous and looks really bad. If we had a nice, well looked after park then i'd probably skate vert instead of street.

The parks down here arnt so bad. We have the southern hemispheres biggest perminant half pipe. My local park is no where near as good, but its still great fun to skate on.

IMO skateparks in England cant compare to anything america, canada, australia etc. have ot offer. Noone looks after the ramps and they just get sprayed/drawn all over or burnt down. The garffiti really ruins the looks of the ramps too, especially when they have been resurfaced. The halfpipe and grind boxes at my local park have been burnt down now and I thik the city council have just given up on it all completely. Preferably i'd like to have the grind box back since I used it sooo much but even just resurfacing the ramps that are left would be nice. I just dont see why those stupid "graffers" have ot go and ruin the looks of them.
I went to a skatepark down by the marina today which only has like 2 ramps but has a couple of nice rails and after skating my way through some baggage checkpoints (labour conference this week i think) and letting the police scavenge through by bag only to find a helmet I finally got to the park to find out they've pulled all the ramps out of the ground and torn them apart so they can host some stupid sand sculpting festval. It's really ruined my day. Im going street skating wiht some friends in a bit if the rain holds out on us, its looking grim now though. Im os psyched for skating right now and theres nothng I can do with it.

Heres some pictures of my local park, these pictures are fair old now, but, they're still good.

And my local to my dads house, which has the southern hemispheres biggest perminant half pipe. I go there a fair bit too. I can't drop in the half pipe, I'm too wussy, but I can get cabout 3in from the top starting from the bottom.:dopey:

My park really sucks, but it's the ebst place to skate around town... :indiff:
Yeah...like 50 square :p
They should make it bigger. The parking lot is taking up to much space and almost nobody parks there anyway.

Haha, when i made my rally stage in the WTDC it went right past your house

Scary. The Level looks so small from the air.

cool, I forgot to take pics fo the level today. Im going karting tomorrow if its dry though so I wont get to skate then.
This is pretty much a basic summary of my skate today, I posted it on the Thrasher boards so i'll just copy and paste it:

Had a pretty fun street skate today, it started off with a line ive been working on which consisted of a FS 180 off a ledge followed by I nice smooth kickflip. There was a pavement gap at the end of my line but I dont have enough confidence with my ollie yet for me to be able to do that, i'm hoping ot have it byt the end of next week if we go back there.
Then after a stop by home ot pick up food it was off to the beach where I ollied over this crappy jagged piece of cement on the end of a 2ft or so high wall which was followed by the drop.
Then I found a slightly smaller ledge whichI ollied off, then kickflipped and then ollied back up again. Pretty simple stuff but I enjoyed it and thats what skating's about.

Yes indeed... Skating isn't necessarily about landing the most difficult tricks... It's about having a good time... Sometimes I go to my local park (I'll have pictures posted of it soon) and just rip around the park, not doing any tricks at all, just because sometimes I'm in the mood to do that... Sometimes I feel like working on a certain line(s) and perfecting technical tricks... It all depends on my mood...

BTW, as soon as I can get my girlfriend to take a picture (she gets scared watching me skate) I will have a pic of me ollieing a big gap in a town nearby... It's a parking lot take-off over a small curb, down a large dirt hill (7' or 8' wide, 8' high) to the sidewalk below, and then off into oncoming traffic (d
on't worry, I'll have her watch for cars)... I'll post up a picture of my previous attempt (which I landed), tonight or tomorrow... I want to get a better picture of it though... You'll see why...

;)

Sounds awesome, im looking forward ot seeing it!
I'm pretty pleased with my flips today as I was always nervous about landing in primo and falling flat on me arse. But I just try to mimic my technique every time and I land pretty much every one I try, sometimes they come out really nice.
I'd like to see a pic or video of me doing one because its really hard to see how high it is.
It doesnt feel very high but you dont really pay attention to that kinda thing when doing flips. I want to try and get more pics of myself skating pretty soon because I always like ot look at myself skating, I always manage to impress myself no matter how big or small I go.

Im not sure what trick I should og on to learn now i've learnt kickflips again. Anyy suggestions? nothing to complicated though.

I walked down to the park this morning ot get some pics, unfortunately half way back home I deleted like 5 of them so I only got a few for now.
I did have a prime example of the graffiti crap I mentioned before though, on one of the quarter pipes someone has sprayed "DOPE S**T" in huge yellow letters on it. What is wrong with people now days.
I'll get more pics of the park when I next go skating there, i'm go karting today so ill have to try and get some during next week. for now heres some of the flat banks and a obstructed camel hump. You can still see the poor ramp condition though.

Mam that looks good. I'd give my left ass cheek to have stuff like that in brighton. Tomorrow I think im just gonna session ollies off and up ledges and flat ground kickflips down the beach for a bit. There's some fun stuff there. If im pretty lucky i may be able to get some pics if I go skatign wiht a mate after he finishes school but I doubt it. I'll try and get more pics of the local park tomorrow, just noticed that yo ucan see the dodgy graffiti on the quarter pipe in one of those pics.

Thanks guys... I'll have some better pics of the gap (durring the day), and some pics of my local skate park soon...

;)

Woa, real nice pics!
@vtec_guy: Your park does look more ghetto than mine, but theres more to ride. We have like, a small qp, and a bank. 👎 But theres a decent half-pipe near Zsolt (Cosmic) that I yet have to ride. :D

More pics! 👍

A new park is being built just 50km away from me!

To make ya'll jealous, I'll post some pics. :p

Yeah...a ''decent half pipe''.

And I just realized how much our city sucks when it comes to skateboard and cycling/mountainbike activities.
