Hi. Has this wheel been on sale around Black Friday in the past? How much has it gone for? I've read this is the only confirmed wheel so far to have PlayStation 4 support. Is this true? Thanks.

T500RS Commonly goes on sale on Black Friday around the ballpark of $375-$400. To my knowledge, the T500 hasn't been confirmed for PS4 yet.

I got mine last year for 350 from amazon (directly).

It hasn't been confirmed. In fact, there's an FAQ somewhere that states old wheel are not supported by Sony, but developers can support legacy wheel if they're willing to do drivers themselves. I would not buy with the expectation it'll have widespread support on PS4. Consider yourself lucky if it happens, but don't expect it.

Edit: Although if the Thrustmaster TX drivers being rolled into the T500 drivers on PC is an indication (and it appears as though this has happened), maybe there's nothing to worry about concerning backwards compatability. Still, it's complete speculation as of this date and nobody can be held responsible if they find a way to lock these things out.

So, has anyone actually tried connecting the T500RS (or any other wheel, for that matter), to the PS4 to at least check that it's recognized?

The wheel calibrates but the system doesn't respond to any button inputs. Evolution Studios (DriveClub) have confirmed the T500 will be compatible with DriveClub.

Knowing this, now I'm happy GT6 is coming out on the PS3. At least I can extract some joy out of my wheel for about one more year (or until I get fed up with it)..

Guys, if you see any deals on the T500 post in this thread!! Slickdeals shows this wheel went on sale at Amazon on 11/22 of last year.

Old wheels are not working, not even recognized by the system. I tried a DFGT, a G25 and a Fanatec Porsche. I plugged them into the ps4 through usb and start the system.. they don't even calibrate and don't work even in the menu. I mean they are not recognized, like nothing is connected.
So i tried to start NFS for ps4 to see if it depends on the game but off course they still don't work. If you turn down the controller it says you nothing plugged into player 1 port.
So at the moment they don't work at all. Off course this is an insane let down for me as DFGT owner and racing game fan.

ps: i do not have ps4 and all the wheels, we ( as a group of player) tried our wheels on one ps4 of a friend

Which makes sense considering the PS4 FAQ states that only Move controllers will be backwards compatible and USB peripherals will not (although they stated developers could implement their own drivers if they wished to make certain wheels compatible with their game).

The real wild card is going to be just what the TX is. There's a little evidence out there that hints the Thrustmaster TX could be using the Thrustmaster T500 drivers on PC (albeit updated drivers). If this turns out to be true, Thrustmaster could very easily make a PS4 branded TX model. And if that were to happen, the Thrustmaster TX would be officially supported. And IF it were using the same drivers as the T500, it COULD drag the T500 along with it in terms of game support.

Thrustmaster T500 RS
Regarding upward compatibility of the “T500 RS – PS3” racing wheel with PS4 racing games:
This decision is upon each game developer and will therefore vary from racing game to racing game.
In the event of upward compatibility with PS4 racing games, the T500 RS – PS3 racing wheel will only be recognized in the game, and not in the console’s menus. Please note that the “SHARE” and “PS” functions will not work on the wheel in PS4 racing games.

you're welcome, maybe they will be supported in future. right now logitech wheels are not supported. It has been released project cars supported wheel list few days agoand logitech wheels can't be used on ps4. The list however is said to not be the final list so maybe there is still hope.
