Those are ITB's for an AE101. Looks the same(minus the air filter) to me.:odd:

I have no experience with ITB's, or carburetors, though, so I really wouldn't know. I was just guessing because they looked a lot like them to me.

They could be, i don't know... I'm not even sure if these things had Fuel Injection (hence the need for a throttle body) or not...

...If it had a suspension system ultimately set towards road racing instead of drifting, it could probably be a pretty quick little car... As it stands, it's just a showy car...

what the hell is an ITB? :odd: :odd: :odd:

and, from that statement, punk rock, I may assume you dont like drifting, unlike the rest of this forum???? *-*

Individual Throttle Body.

I don't like drifting. It's kind of fun to do in GT3, and stuff, but other than that... it's not for me.

That says something about injector size for the 4A-GELU. I also just noticed next to Misc. it says Indiv. Throttle, VVT - whatever that means.

I don't hate it all that much, it can look quite impressive, but all the 13 year olds running around the place really piss me off about it...

haha, yeah, every ricy kid here seems to think that Japanese car = drifting. or any car, for that matter. saw the latest user registered name? Skyline-drifter or something... so, well...

Cano, what you've got to do, is go to your SCCA sponsored track on an open day, and watch the honda kids trying to ebrake around the corners, you'll never see anything more funny in your life, I gaurentee it.

I don't mind watching it, mind you, especially the crazy Japanese videos, but i'm not one to go and brag about how fast & fun drifting is, like some members here, because that's a load of BS...

Yeah, anyways, besides GT3, and watching an occasional group of crazy Japanese guys, I don't care much for drifting. I probably have less than 10 drifting videos on my computer.

That's not a replica, it's missing "Fujiwara Tofu Shop" on the side. And that's a normal 4A-GEU, not a 4A-GELU. it's just a normal panda trueno

No, I'm afraid you're wrong. The Trueno in Initial D only has the logo on the right hand side of the car, as does this one:)

Be that as it may it still lacks the 4AGELU, and even if it was trying to emulate the original engine that was in it, the original engine wasn't blue/yellow

It's not trying to be a carbon copy of the Initial D Trueno, just a visual nod to it hence the number plate and tofu shop sticker. The fact that they've made it look similar to the car in the cartoon is down to it's popularity at the moment.

And the 1985 AE86 from Initial D only had 1 Racing seat. Anywho i'm bored, and did you notice alot of the time in Initial D they spelled Trueno wrong on the car, they splled it Toreno alot of the time.

I didn't notice, I'm not keen on the cartoon to be honest. But the misspelling of words in anime happens a lot, 'Bony' TVs and the like:lol:

Addressing the issue of misspellings in anime:
The Japanese language system relies on letter pairings to form their basic alphabet.

A Ka Sa Ta Ha Ma Ra Wa
I Ki Shi Chi Hi Mi Ri Wo
E Ke Se Te He Me Re
O Ko So To Ho Mo Ro
U Ku Su Tsu Hu Mu Ru

That's a rough construct of the most basic Japanese pairings as per un-accented hiragana.... Logically, TuReNo would be an obvious mutation of Trueno, since Trueno cannot be written in Hiragana, nor Katakana.

My name transforms to
Tahiru Nuri, or Maikeru Torezu with their alphabet.

That's only in the "Modified Hepburn" system of romanising Kana, Michael... :D But it is the most commonly used form - although my friend from Shizuoka uses the most bizarre Romaji you've ever seen. My own name would be written Andoryuu Ebansu in the modified Hepburn.

I'd suggest the most obvious "mutation" of Trueno, going on the pronunciation alone, would be To-Ru-E-No. But in terms of conversion of the written word, I'd agree entriely with you.

Just to add the remaining Romaji

The only Romanised letters than can appear singularly are A, E, I, O, U, N, M.

There is also a Na sequence - Na, Ni, No, Ne, Nu
The Ka sequence modifies to Ga, Gi, Go, Ge, Gu
The Sa sequence modifies to Za, Ji, Zo, Ze, Zu
The Ta sequence modifies to Da, Ji, Do, De, Zu
The Ha sequence modifies to Ba, Bi, Bo, Be, Bu - and also to Pa, Pi, Po, Pe, Pu.

You can add Ya, Yu and Yo characters to any _i character to form the third set of syllables:
Kya, Kyu, Kyo (Ki +)
Sha, Shu, Sho (Shi +)
Cha, Chu, Cho (Chi +)
Nya, Nyu, Nyo (Ni +)
Hya, Hyu, Hyo (Hi +)
Mya, Myu, Myo (Mi +)
Rya, Ryu, Ryo (Ri +)
Gya, Gyu, Gyo (Gi +)
Ja, Ju, Jo (Ji +)
Bya, Byu, Byo (Bi +)
Pya, Pyu, Pyo (Pi +)

Wow... I think that ends today's lesson :D

Edit : Actually, now I come to think of it, Trueno CAN be written in Romaji/Hiragana (I assume Hiragana - if not, where the hell did they adopt it from?). For some words where the characters just don't get it - often Chinese names - they'll add a modifier to the beginning of some characters. By placing a small "tsu" ahead of the Ru - so it reads tsu-RU-E-NO - you can add a singular "T" to the beginning of the pronunciation.

I took Japanese for 3 years.. Good catch on the Na line, completely forgot about that.

However, this experience was much like class all over again, thanks for the flashback Famine. I believe this dilemma is why the AE86 is simply called Hachi-Roku instead of forcing people to attempt to say "Trueno". Similar attempts on my behalf to introduce some of my family members to the letter L have ended in comedic circumstances.

On the subject of hiragana: Hiragana was created by the Japanese after their decision to become a true island empire and cut their ties with the Chinese, from whom they received their first kana "kanji". Hiragana is the style most used by poets and women in Japan. Newspapers are printed in katakana and kanji.

Lol, See the thing is you see that 6 letter word on the front of the car. It says "Trueno" just like every other "Trueno" ever made. I know it was just a goof on the animations part, because I watched the series on my computer. I'll be glad to find a pic of it spelled Toreno just gimmie a minute or 2.
