This is reason enough for me to get a 360..soon as i have the funds.

You ain't lyin'. As outspoken as I've been against the Xbox360 on some boards (though not here, as we're actually civilized around here, and such things aren't needed), this game is officially a system-seller for me. Within the next few weeks, I'll be buying myself a 360 Premium.

You guys said the controls were adjustable... does it allow for gas/brake on the right stick?

I'll have to check on the new demo, but chances are, it'll be able to do that.

why the hell is a multi-platform game the system seller suddenly?!

TDU will come for PC in november, with much improved controls as well.

That's the one I'm getting, DFP all the way. And you never know, there might be some mods for it on the PC version eventually as well.

Fixed it for you. ;) I may buy a PC version after I build a computer.

The Ninja is fast. I have no idea why a guy kept wanting revenge when i would beat him bady in his F430 every race.

Its cool but i wish the physics were next gen like the graphics. It feels like a PC game for some reason. Weak sound, ps1 driving physics but I still would buy it.

The physics are not near as bad as you say. The physics are actually quite good. Remember, this is not a sim. It's an arcade/sim racer hybrid. The sound is not perfect, but it is definately not weak.

Sorry if I offended you but I can have my opinion. It could be just me but it doesnt change how I feel. I already said I would buy the game meaning the sound is a minor factor but not that good. THe bike handling just doesnt feel right.

I wasn't saying your opinion didn't matter. I was just stating how I felt (and a majority of others). Sorry If I offended. The bike handling is a tad twitchy, but it seems fine after you get used to it. 👍

I don't know if this is fact, but isn't TD:U developed for the X360 and then ported onto other platforms?

I'm pretty sure that's how it is.

The demo has problems, when trying to find a friend in free roam.

Man, the Marketplace servers must be really busy right now. I've been downloading the new demo for almost an hour now and I'm at 50%.

what the difference? it will be released for the PC, not only for the 'box. therefore i don't understand why its supposed to be a system-seller (except if someone has an old pc of course.)

and the PC version won't be a simple port either, it will at least feature support all sorts of racing controllers

thats true. the problem is, however, not the handling per se, but specifically that of the bikes. bikes work different than cars in reality and that hasn't been taken care of in TDU. mostly for the fact that bikes aren't even supposed to play a big role in TDU. if it were real on this account, you could blow away every 300k supercar on your 12k bike. in the final game, the bikes will only be available very late in the game as a kind of gimmick.

Indeed, but the handling of the cars isn't particularly "convincing," either, so it doesn't surprise me that the bikes feel a little weird.

Xbox 360 premium : 399 $

i haven't played any x360 game on the PC yet, TDU will be my first, but the devs say that the requirements for TDU will be similar to oblivion which came out on the 'box as well as on the PC and that recommends a geforce 6800 type of card which these days cost nothing (if you can find one.) a 7600 however goes for about 100€.
you should be able to get a system that plays those games decently for 500 maybe.

i built myself a new system thats a bit over the recommendations for oblivion a year ago for around 900, but back then prices for the parts i got were higher and i was going for quality (my pc doesn't tend to overheat like the 'box does;) despite the fact that i built it myself without any prior experience)

XB360 premium 300 pounds, my graphics card that can and does display similar graphics to the 360, 120 pounds.

First of all I don't want to start a "console vs PC" topic in here, but I'd still like to reply...

Ok, would you agree, that a graphics card alone doesn't play games ? And that while TDU might run on a 120 pounds card and let's say a 500 EUR /400 pounds system, other games like rainbow six vegas, lost planet, call of duty 3 etc WON'T run on it ? Of course a PC can do more, but fact is, that you won't get a decent PC for the money of a 360, and let's face it. The triple core 360 has not reached its maximum potentil yet, so ....

Yes, but I already had the PC. My simple point is this, it is stupid to say consoles are better than PC's because of price, at the end of the dxay I've had my PC for 4 years, I've spent 120 pounds on it, and it can still play the latest games in maximum detail and I assure you, Rainbow six: Vegas and Call of Duty 3 will run on my PC. Now not long ago I spent over 300 pounds on an XB360 a spare pad and a charge kit. And my XB360 is getting less use than my already hardly used PS2.

What is best will come down to the individual, for me it's the PC for you it doesn't seem to be. To try and argue with someone else that that isn't as good because it costrs xxx is moot, everyones opinion of is xxx worth xxx is different. I could have spent more on my PC than I have and I'd still think it was by far worth it. At the end of the day I need a PC anyway weather its going to be used for games or not, so paying to upgrade it once every 3 or 4 years is no skin off my back.

sound 20€
mainb. 80€
dvd 20€
graphcard 120€
case 60€
hdd 50€
power 50€
keyb.+mouse 30€
cpu 60€
cooler 20€
ram 40€
=550€ to get a pc that has the >recommended< specifications to play oblivion and you can do lots of other things with it.
and all from alternate.de which doesn't always have the very best prices.

at the time of release, consoles often seem to be extremely cheap compared to PCs that have the same power, but PCs quickly catch up, you can't deny that.

I played this demo for 3 hours straight last night.
This new demo is absolutely awesome!!!!! For those that dont know what your missing or dont know how to find friends pay attention! I simply cant comprehend how much is in this one game. Seems impossible.

1. You can make rooms, invite your friends in and play a free roam
2. You just just drive around and still run into friends in this huge online world. There were well over 1,000 people on yesterday. However you will only see 8 at a time. As I was driving around I ran into at least 3-4 of my friends. Just by driving in free roam.
3. THEN if you find someone you can invite them to a race. Anyone around can join this race. NOW COMES THE AWESOME PART! You can literally make any race track you want. ANYTHING, ANYWHERE!! Simply amazing!
4. Here is another cool part. You can lock onto your friends in free roam so you never loose them. Click twice real fast to the left on the D pad when you see your friend. All the visible racers will appear to the left. At that point you just lock onto your friends name by clicking right on the D pad. After that you will never loose him. You can lock onto multiple friends too.
6. Like mentioned above there is a problem with clicking your friends names and joining them.
Yes there are still some major problems with just dropping in next to your friends but besides that it is amazing how this entire game works.
Any questions?

Well let's not get into the PC vs. console discussion here, I have my opinion and
I also respect that others see it in a different way, and they are just as right and as wrong as I am.

man if the servers were busy before they are hectic now it just took me......4hrs and 22mins to download the demo and wanna know what the most frustrating thing is......The batterys in my controler are DEAD..........AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!:banghead: 🤬

Camaro I could not see you in the demo's free ride, however you were on my gps.

Like I said in post 896, this demo has some issues but it is an incredible game once you find your friends. Just read that entire post. But your right dropping right in next to friends does not work correctly in the 2nd demo. But you can still start a game and invite your friends in at the checkered flags. Then try to "lock" onto them then go out to the free roam area.
