Wow, I'm completely disgusted with the bikes. The steering is nearly digital and the speed is way off. I was going full speed in the F430 (around 170) and there was a Ninja on my bumper riding a wheelie. The bikers can push you around in the cars too. The only good parts about them are their looks, speed, and acceleration. 0-200 happens in under 20 seconds it seems, if you can avoid hitting any cars with digital steering. They sound amazing too.

I hope you won't be able to race cars vs bikes in the final game. I agree it's totally unfare, but I love the bikes anyway. :D

ITR and I just finished a round of exploring. And I don't know if we even explored all 40 miles. Exploring all 1000 miles of open road will, well, take a long time.

This game is gonna rock.

Anyone can beat a bike with a fast car, if you know how to use the roads to you're tactics.

Apparently not. I havn't lost a single race so far on the Ninja. And that's racing Other Ninja's and F430's. Maybe these idiots just don't know how to drive.

But the F430 is under B, while the bike is under the A zone by the looks of it.

Does anyone else here ride from the in-helmet view? Also when racing on the curcuit do you put a helmet on in the cars and look through that at the dash etc?

I'm sure the cars that are going to be A class (McLaren? that's the only one I can think of) will still be beaten by the faster bikes in the game like the Ducatti's and the MV Agusta's.

From what I can conclude, the 999R is definately going to be one of those top bikes competing with the Enzo, CC8S, and McLarens.....

I've found a really easy way to find friends:

Go to the GPS, then go to players

Press x and go to the bottom tab labelled relations

Change it to friends

When you see a car logo, press one of the bumpers and then go back to the players tab

It should make a box around your friends car

Press A and you'll teleport to them
The downside to this, is a lot of the time it does not work in the demo, it takes a couple tries when trying to cruise with people like Camaro.

...After playing the demo, I'm very impressed. For a $40 game, it appears to be an awesome deal here in the US, and it certainly is telling me that I need to buy an HDTV, NOW!

The physics felt a bit off, but it could be because I had the driving aids on (I had no idea I could turn them off). Added to that, I was tinkering with the AC Cobra, and the snap-oversteer got on my nerves.

Also, I do agree on the feelings about the motorbikes as well... They feel so "disconnected" as compared to the cars, I can't figure out what the problem is. Odd I say is the fact that Rockstar got it right with Midnight Club 2 and DUB Edition, but Atari couldn't get it right with TDU?

You know the latest demo is an old reviewer’s demo, so the handling will be even better in the full game.

You could turn the aids off in the first demo too.

Me, CAMAROBOY, and BigJamesGTI just finished played. We had a blast looking for dealerships and stuff. :D

I didnt realise it was you Integra - Nice !!! Yeah we had a blast - Im worried that the demo can keep me busy for like over 3 hours, when the full game comes out it'll be days and days !!!

A couple of people have mentioned the bikes - This is what I referred to in my other thread. They just dont feel right, its strange.

Don't you mean weeks followed by months lol.

They shouldn't do, Bikes corner a lot slower than cars, or rather they should do. The are bikes are best is acceleration and the ability to nip through traffic better, but at the same time a crash is more serious on a bake and they don't corner as fast.

I agree, even you can fall off them if you lean too much, but the whole corner thing can make a bike lose if you have a great handling and quick car.

I had a quick 15 minute play on the demo last night. The motorcycle has excellent sound but I just felt the bike didn't seem to grip. When I play TT superbikes on PS2 the rider leans right over which doesn't seem to happen in TDU. I still love the feeling of doing 180mph on a motorcycle though.

Hopefully with all the feedback that they receive from the demo they may tweak it before the final release.

But it won't be THAT much better. There wasn't much difference from the 1st to 2nd releases of the demo afterall.

GJB93 - I managed to see you online last night. What were you doing? It looked like huge lag as I was driving THROUGH you for about 5 minutes or so. Then you dissapeared. There was this guy in a Cobra who was messing around with me who noticed aswell.

On my screen it was you that was lagging  This is wierd

I love my ninja. Put the traction control to hypersport and it never goes off the road (for me anyway). I'd say a track with alot of corners bunched together would be in the cars favour rather than the bikes

press right on the d-pad while your driving, then a menu comes up on the left for different TCS options, you change the setting with the up and down keys on the d-pad.

LOL I just took 2 F430's and 2 bikes into the glitch at the big house and then showed them how to get into the house area and we just drove about and annoyed those who couldn't get in by parking at the other side of the gate. lol

TDU is a bit between arcade and simulation, while TT is an all out simulation.

I think this game will need its own sub-forum

You may be right... especially once the game launches. Everybody will have questions about cars, people will want to set up GTP "cruising" events, things like "What's your favorite part of the island?" etc.

Hell, over on the Atari boards, the TDU sub-forum has four sub-forums of it's own. One for general game talk, one for car talk, and one for each demo they've released. And there's a separate forum for those involved in the PS2 beta test. So, five sub-forums total. For one game.

Yeah, I think we'll need one.. hehe. NFS has one.. hell, even Enthusia has one. And TDU is a LOT bigger than Enthusia.. there's just SO much to do, so much to see.. I'm going to spend weeks just driving around.

Won't happen. The game has already gone gold and the master copy has already been shipped for copying.
