Looking good :) Racing through traffic is always fun, nice to see the 'civvie' traffic doesn't look much worse than the cars (NFS U traffic looked awful).

I think the 4th one is very interesting. Notice how a Murcielago is coming from the other direction which happens to be a dealership. I'm thinking there is a clue in the pic, but can't find where to start.
And 2nd....making AI children mad.:D

Pagani Zonda C12-S 7.3 Roadster
Saleen S7

I alphabetized your car list :)

However I didn't make any additions of my own nor can I verify its accuracy, because I don't follow this game like I do PGR3

to be quite honest im suprised that TTU isnt get as much attention as PGR3. yes, PGR3 is the flagship racer for xbox360, but judging by the previews, videos, screenshots and rumours, TTU is going to be a competative game to the crown of PGR3 with its open ended MMO-style online mode. This is my dream come true, ive always wanted a game with miles upon miles of road to cruise with my friends online, then challenge rival teams and such. forza attempted that but (imo) failed quite miserably (including the part-trading front).

on the topic of videocard graphics, there is always a leapfrog like motion in the battle between pc's and consoles. pc's invent real good graphics card and faster processor, console beats it by having same card, pc's invent real good graphics card and faster processor, console beats it by having same card.....etc etc etc.

another issue for this game that will make it excel is a decent steering wheel, hopefully microsoft can catch the deal with logitech that is rumoured, and infact i posted in another thread that on one of the e3 booths where they were testing TTU, they were running a modded DFP!!!! fantastic news imo as this may show MS's front on peripherals. whats your opinion?

Here's the BIG News!

~Car list update with the following
Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe
Lotus Exige
Aston Martin DB9 Roadster

~Homes
There are 64 homes in the game, each with its own cut scene for your car coming out of and pulling into the garage. There's also a building you may go to to buy homes. It too has a short cut scene.

~Dealers/Cars
Dealers go in the same manner and every car is test driveable. You have a limited amount of space in your garage, so you may have to move cars to a new home as well when you buy them. Each car has a look around interior very similiar to PGR3. Dealers and garages will allow you to walk around in.
Also, you can rent cars, paint cars, hell, even WASH cars!

~Online
Let's save the best for last. 1st off, there are 2 servers. European and American. 2nd, there are 2 types of competitions. Car clubs consisting of 16 players and the individual drivers. The options allow you find people with the same car, same skill level, or such.
Good news!
When selling your car online, you will be given a photomode in which the pictures will go into the ad. No word on if the mode doesn't have to be used in the ads.

~Unlocking!
Driving 1,000 miles. How long do you think that takes? I'll tell you....9 hours. That's right, 540 minutes, or 32,400 seconds to discover everything. When you find something, you are prompted and soon, an icon will come on the map letting you know you can come back.
We are also told cars are available as Downloadable Content every month. Yes, every 30-31 days, you, the players, get a new car to download! :dopey:
Check out the video for yourself to get pumped up!

Don't forget to check out the pictures as well. 👍
Another video! Gameplay footage of the SRT-10 Coupe Vs. Lotus Exige.
At the Very Bottom of the page. Can't miss it.

I bet there be a Porsche in there at a later date, all i want is 4 or 5 TVR's to make it in the game.

Yeah, Test drive's not been without a TVR or two for a while, a good representation of the Typhon, Speed 12 and co would be awesome.

Theres a photomode too, PGR3 and now this taking a leaf out of GT4's book eh. All for the best though, it's a good idea.

And in turn GT4 took a leaf out of Sega GT 2002s book which probably was also inspired from some other game. Although Sega GT had the neat idea of hanging the pictures in your virtual 3D garage.

Now everyone can go around showing how great GT4s graphics are, even though the pictures are taken at 1200 resolution with 4x AA unlike the actual game ;)

T5-R well rememberd, I completely forgot about S GT2002

Here's an old, but nice little video. The end is great as well.

Video at the very bottom with AMV8 on it.

EDIT: Some personal Progress.
~I have alot planned for this game and for PGR3. However, I suspect someone will help me with my PGR3 plans later on.

For Test Drive Unlimited, I am currently working on how to make these all work.
~Races:
These will be planned events with the help of you. I hope to get at least 3-4 every month.
~Fastest Times:
These will also be like the WRS and most used competiton for this forum (hopefully). These will be done weekly from the competition starting on Sunday and going through Friday. Times and winner will be posted Saturday night. How to determine winners and proof of times are still being decided.
~Car Events:
These will contain a certain manufacturer, model, or country origin, and hopefully, 2 will be held every month. This particular string of events is only 5% done. More info may need to be revealed.
~Photo Comps.
With the inclusion of a Photomode, naturally, a Comp. will be held.

These are things I am working on right now for this game. I will release the PGR3 Plans Friday to Saturday night, so please keep on the lookout.
All comments welcomed.

A timed events comp will be hard in TDU sine theres no set tracks you'd have to rely on everyone starting in the exact same place and finishing in the exact same place, even a few game meters off could invalidate it all. I guess we'll have to see if theres any default routes to choose from.

I think all games should have a picture type mode. I think screen capture should be built into the systems OS.

Actually, a recent video showed a very small course with the SRT-10 Coupe and Exige racing. The small course had small baracades.

Here's some fantastic news!

~New places?
This is a no go. The island takes up 4 gigs of the disc space. So no downloadable places.

~New Cars:
The list has been update with the Mazda RX-8 and Lamborghini Miura

~Customization!
There is alot of customization, and ABSOLUTELY NONE of it is like Underground 2. If you wants part for your Lamborghini, you will actually have to go and find an actual Lamborghini tuner on the island!

Also, when buying a car, you can not only choose the wheels or color, but the interior as well!

~Misc.
Power windows, opening doors, its all here when you look at your cars. If you look behind (not in the mirror; actually behind) you can really see the inside of the back of your car.

~More Home Info.
When you look at a home, you can either look at 1 of 3 options, 2 of which I know. The outside of the home itself and the garage.

~Cutscenes....
Everything you do is most likely going to activiate an awesome cutscene.

~Weather:
There will be weather changes, but the talk of night seems unlikely as they report the island itself takes up a lot of memory and a night time would take a little more than wanted.

~Graphics:
The game is set at 30FPS which isn't bad considering how much we're working with here.

Really, do you have a link to that vid?

Well this game sounds very promising I just hope they can deliver and haven't bitten off more than they can chew <cough> Boiling Point <cough>.

Hehe finally found my V-Rally 2 PC disc and I still think its fun and still looks ok for a 2000 game Screeny. Although 4x AA and 8x AF certaintly help :D The intro is still great too, almost makes me want to paint my Ibiza yellow and wrap it round a tree.

Unfornately, some people are complaining on other forums about the FPS which is quite sad considering that 30FPS is more than enough for me.

EDIT: I've registered at IGN.com to help them out now, so if you're there, feel free to check out the Test Drive Boards. It should be very easy to find me.

This game looks good and bad at the same time... for me, it'll be a rental and then if I like it a buy! It looks like I may very well end up buying it 👍

Cluns1414
The thread i started will most likely be locked so, here is the link i posted to some more new in game footage.

Shows some free roaming, a trip to a dealership, and also to a clothing store... the video has no sound though.
Awesome, thanks for the link. 👍
