TDU2 patch update and free DLC info.

It seems that the developers for tdu2 have forgotten about the ps3 , its a joke , that game has been out for a large amount of time and it still doesnt work as it should. I dont expect to buy a game , then find out it doesnt work then be told a pack of lies about a fix for it that is never going to come !!!! Sorry about the rant but its annoying me ;)

I read about all what the new patch entails for the PC and XBOX 360, and I feel pretty excited about the chance of having the Lancia Stratos Rally car be built. Also seemingly excited about motorcycles. Trust me, GTP- I'd race the hell out of Ibiza on two wheels. I'd be straight rocking a (granted we get them) Ducati Desmosedici RR or a Honda CBR1000RR on the country roads of Ibiza.

Still have yet to see any update deal for the PS3 version...

I just want to get on the roulette table! Always bet on black!

Had my first trip to the casino the other night there and of course it crashed, had to turn off the system and restart again, glad it didn't loose my last save.

Well, that is that... so to speak!

Made the big mistake of not putting my USB containing some of the DLC cars into my 360. I really didn't want that many Miami Mustangs. Fortunately I backed up my save on the morning of the Exploration Pack, and after deleting my Battlefield Bad Company 2 Install I had all my DLC on the Hard Disk. The result of this was that I had to do the new Golden Bomb Missions a second time to get the new wrecks. I did do a little better on the Timed Convoys second time around. Just as well the DLC was free as at most there is maybe a coupole of hours extra game play with not a huge amount of money on offer.

I suppose a good thing with this "Miami Fix" is that the hackers with unpaid for DLC cars in their saves will now have rather a lot of Pink Mustangs. There ought to be less Veyron Super Sports homing in on whatever car I am driving!

Paint seems to have changed. The colour of some dealer options on cars (such as the metallic orange on some Audis) seems to now seem somewhat ordinary in comparison to its pre-update colour. Metallic Paint in the Sticker Shop, however, has changed for the better. It now looks much more metallic than it did before (I was not convinced there was even a difference between Metallic and Glossy pre-update). Unfortunately they fixed the free sticker application (pre-update) and not only do you have to pay for a page of stickers, you now have a $2000 charge to apply stickers to a car.

On release day, I had serious problems with trying to connect to a friend. I could connect to randoms from the list of recent players but to connect to the person I wanted to proved to be extremely tiresome, even after a trip to the Dashboard for a reset!

Inevitably I lost 10,000 chips trying the Roulette (I had fortunately elected to try the cheapest table) when the game froze, though I soon made it back on the Hi-Life slots. In future I will be doing a backup before trying Roulette in case I lose money with a freeze again.

Upgrades on the new wrecks. I fitted a Lv 2 upgrade on Speed to the Charger which improved the top speed... by 1 mph! Lv 2 Speed on the Stratos gave 128 mph top speed (about right for a rally Stratos if memory serves me correctly). Trying Lv 3 Speed made no further difference.

At least on painting the "General Lee" (I have yet to apply any stickers, though I may have to try that offline without the DLC so that I can do it for free, lol) the roof proved to be just a painted on "vinyl" and the car became one colour all over.

They need to get their heads on straight and help expand the TDU2 experience for us PS3 types. I guess they're happy with they've come up with for the PS3 version that the XBOX 360 and PC types are enjoying this much more than us PS3 gamers. Epic fail for Atari and Eden Games if we get NOTHING in terms of any patches or expansions in the future for TDU2.

Yeah, the first page alone sounds more like the PC version. A lot of people for the PS3 version say that it's mostly Sony holding up the patch development for the PS3 version of TDU2. Are you buying this, or do you think it's just laziness on the part of Atari and Eden Games?

Meixy from Atari posted yesterday on the TDU2 forums that the PS3 DLC is still on it's way and very close to launch.

I can promise you it is still coming out and it should be out to you very, very soon.

I will let you know more infomation when I can.

There is still hope .....

It was actually a friend of mine that made her put that on the forums, had to throw some club weight around. As long as we get the patch that actually fixes things, then it's fine.

It's coming out for PSN as we speak. 👍 EU users should already have it, US users some time tomorrow. :)

^^ Finally I guess. I still see great potential within TDU2, but it's just so dead (no one online) now, and who knows if we'll ever hear anything of the DLC cars that would be displayed in dealerships before release...:guilty:

I'm downloading the 573 MB update right now. If I find anything interesting to chat about, I'll do so in the "Anyone Still Play TDU2?" thread and perhaps even update my blog review post on this game. If nothing interesting, or if this update offers more questions than answers, I'll just go back to GT5 and Saints Row 2 hoping TDU3 (if we get one) will solve LOTS of issues.

I haven't been able to get the game to go online over the last 3 days. It keeps saying the TDU2 servers are currently undergoing maintenance...for 3 days?

I'll try again today.

EDIT: I just found this at the TDU2 forums from Meixy.

Hey Guys, Good news!

At this time, the DLC1 Exploration Pack update is going live on Playstation Network. Because of the complex nature of TDU2’s online features, as well as the issues involved with trying to launch this content simultaneously all around the world, you may experience some strange behavior as the patch propagates to all of the various servers and then to each individual player. European users should have access immediately, US users should be able to access the patch starting tomorrow AM. We ask for your patience during this process and assure you that we’re doing everything we can to make it happen as quickly and smoothly as possible. We’re excited to finally be able to share this new content with you and hope that you enjoy it!

Sincerely,
Atari

Maybe my game will start working again soon.

^My game worked for the PS3 DLC1 download and stayed online for that day.

Since then however, I've gotten a message that the TDU2 servers are down each consecutive day. :grumpy:

I need help! How come TDU2 is my only game that won't go online???

Almost everyone's is like that. I'm in the EU and I just got online for a bit last night but they are down again. Just gotta wait.

TDU2 just posted a hint about the next DLC pack on facebook with the question: "Car or Bike. Which do you prefer." I'm not genius, but it's common sense that they'd be asking that question if they were preparing to release a motorcycle DLC pack soon.
