So my parents have a mk2 escort that has a similar condition to this, I was actually thinking of doing the same thing to it, droping in say a sr20det and sliding it. Providing I had a rollcage, proper fixed back seat and 4point harness, how would this go getting through scrutineers?? Would I only be able to drive it as a missile or would they let me do track days etc in it??

And to get back on topic is anyone keen for a drift?? I have the day off work and looking to slide on gt6.

I'm pretty sure you will have no problems since you are in SA.
They will probably let you drift it rust and all as long as all 4 wheels stay on, have working lights and have atleast a front windsheild.
But with track days it would be up to the scrutineers discretion but if you make it safe and there isn't any big sharp bits hanging out and if it rust isn't too bad they should let you go with it.
