Video Cards with vertex/pixel shaders 2.x and above are recommended.

SPU (Sound Cards) : DirectX 9.0 compatible Sound Card.

System Memory : 512 MB, 1 GB recommended

Hard Disk free space: 8 GB

DVD drive: 8x minimum

DirectX 9.0C (included)

btw if you can't find it in game store near you, you can go to Atari website to download the whole game, best of all you don't need a game disc to run the game

I don't do online payments, so that's no option.

I just went looking for the game in nearby stores, but in the first they didn't have the game and the second was closed
And that's not the first time i went to that store and it was closed. The opening hours on their website are outdated me thinks

Well, there's another store i can go to, but that's a 40 minute bus ride.
I first have to call if they have the game in stock.

Seriously I play TDU with Intel iMac which has Core 2 duo at 2.16GHz with 128MB Radeon X1600. I use low setting without AA, AF and HDR at 1280x768, but the framerate is about 30fps maximum, sometimes drops to 10fps when the race starts. Since you need a good graphic card like US$150 or above and a fast pc, so I guess it is a better deal to buy a xb360 afterall.

I bought it today and i now have a standard Wiesmann Roadster with a red-green chameleon color, a Chevy Camaro fully tuned and with an orange-red paintjob + an Audi A3 i bought when i started the game.
I also bought the villa at the top of the crater and sold my original house.

Because when I dled the Open Beta it wouldn't run on my system

It said I needed more system memory...

Also I don't think my video card supports shader level 2.0+

I'm planning on buying a ATI Radeon X1650 that supports shader level 3.0 and comes with 512mb of ram.

Also I'm going to upgrade my ram to 1.5gb

you think that video card will be enough for this game to run it smoothly?

Atari should add more servers for this game, i could only log in once today and it got disconnected during a car delivery mission.
Don't know how many times i tried to complete that mision without crashing the car or going offroad.
I once almost did it but .2 km before the finish my screen frose up (again!!!) for a couple of seconds, and when i felt a little shake in the steering wheel i knew something went wrong.
When the screen moved again i saw myself driving on the beach
Most of the time, the reason for me crashing the car is a frame drop or a complete freeze for a short (or sometimes longer) period of time.

Isn't your account name linked to your gamespy name? why should you change the account name then?
You just have to delete the corrupted account and make a new one with the same name.
If you only have 1 account, just make a new offline account with a random name, so that you can delete the online one.

I have 2 backups for the savegame. I make a copy of it when i stop playing, but i have another copy from the previous session also, so if the new one turns out to be corrupt, i can use the previous one.

This is defintiely one of the most fun games I've played in a while. It's incredibly fun to just cruise the island if you have a steering wheel.

I just recently bought it, very happy with it using the DFP. Runs very well too (P4 3.4hz, 2gig PC4200, 7600GS).

First enjoyable Test drive for me since the first couple many years ago. Any word on downloadable car packs for PC?

I'm wicked jealous of you guys now. I've been wasting my time playing the ps2 version (which i have got very far into) and you guys have so many cooler features. I probably couldn't even play it on my computer

That just reminded me, do any of you know of a ps2 controller adapter that goes into the usb. Ive seen pictures, but have no idea where to find them. And if i do eventually get the pc test drive unlimited, could i play it with the ps2 controller on the pc?

easier said then done when you don't have much money. How much is the DFP because $250 for the G25 is extremely out of the question for me.

I still probably couldn't use the game on my computer anyway, lol. Windows Millennium sucks wicked bad.

I had gotten that when i found a converter on google. I thought something was up when i got $138.63

some people say it makes the game worse lol. i read lots of complaints about hte patch in the forums. the dev team of testdrive has really lost the respect of alot of customers.
