Cool, the graphics seem quite good from what I can see. I have to wait 5 more days....
 
I was just playing it. So far I'm not very impressed. The graphics are good, but they're nothing special. The game play is a bit awkward, I didn't really like it, maybe it's because I've been playing Burnout Dominator in the last few days and the game play is quite different. And the story line doesn't make much sense in my opinion.

I got to play some more to make a better judgment of it though.

Awesome. Thanks for the video! The graphics seem to look REALLY good for the PS2 version. I absolutely love the cockpit view. That makes it seem so much more realistic, IMO.

About the sun rising and sun setting...haven't noticed that. I think there is no day/night in that game :(

The cockpit view is alright. u cant compare it to the 360 version, but lets say, its a nice feature to have it :D

When i want to race driver Number 5 in the Ford Owners Club, we start the race in the wrong direction, so we have to reverse, make anohter U turn, and drive along. Then after some time the track map doesnt show the track anymore and the GPS always says that i'm going wrong way. WEIRD :D

no online mode for me bro:guilty:

I have 2 logitech wheels, a old GT force pro which doesnt work,
and the brand new G25 which doesnt work either :grumpy:

This game would have been incredible if the G25 and the 6 speed shifter would have had support!!

I'm downloading the First Video at the moment... and so far I'm very impressed at how the graphics turned out on the PS2. The car reflections in particular look great.
I thought the game was released today in Australia, but the games stores say they wont have it till the 21st :( (at least the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix will keep me entertained all weekend :) ).
Looking forward to seeing you all online :)

The graphics remind me of Driv3r, but a bit better. Actually I think Driv3r is from Atari too, right? So maybe they share the same engine.
 
Does it have that cool ignition effect that the 360 version had?? Like when you car is parked you had to press and hold L1 to start the engine... does it do that on the PS2??
 
What the ****! Just played it and noticed that there aren't any manual option for the gearchange only automatic??? I'm so disappointment right now..

There's definitely an option for manual. That's all I ever use. I haven't played the PS2 version yet, but I'm pretty sure you could choose the manual transmission in Options. (I played the 360 version a while back)
 
Just started it up, im pretty sure automatic is the only choice. More annoying though is that i can remap the controls at all.

I very seriously doubt that's the case, though, since the 360 version has a manual option. I mean, seriously, what kind of racing game doesn't have a manual transmission option?
 
What?! Only automatic?! That seriously makes me reconsider the purchase of this game then.

Yes this is unbelivable.:grumpy: There's no mention about gear change when you read through the manual or when seeing the controls in the game, so I quess this is the case. I think I will return this game to the shop tomorrow:indiff: Otherwise the game is actually quite good, the car sounds are nice too...

Okay so it doesnt have a manual setting but that would never put me off it imagine all the gear changes to travel some of the distances ( I had to travel over 50 miles earlier to get to a club that I wanted to race in).
What makes me really appreciate this game is when you head out of the city and go into the mountains thats where this game really shines to me. I was in my trusty Lotus Exige 240R and I was just reaching the peak of a hill I mus have been climbing for about a 1 mile or so then when I reached that top the view was amazing it spread across the whole dessert area it looked brilliant. Right then tommorrow.......Aston Martin.........:)

yea i have to confirm that! i kept looking all over the game options!! there is NO manuel tranny :scared: :grumpy:

Well, just got my self a shiny black CLS55 AMG :drool: just love her :D

Man thats horrible! I don't know if I should get this game or not anymore. I just can't use automatic in a racing game at all.
 
Well I dont know how to take pictures if someone could tell me then I would be very appreciative. But the instuction manual doesnt say anything about it.

same over here buddy, the cruising is much nicer then the acutal racing!:cool:
to be honest, i dont even think it would be anymore of a fun to drive in manuell. I can actually understand why the 360 version has a manuell transmission and the PS2 doesnt!
Its the fact, that driving on the 360 is much more enjoyable and the quality of the game is so much better, that its more fun to go manuell. ~ hope you guys understand what i mean :)

anyways, what cars you guys saving for money to buy?
I personally look forward to get the Shelby GT 500 and the CLK DTM!👍

Got the Shelby GT500 by getting to the amatuer ranking . Want the CLK DTM but my money is set on a Koenigsegg CCR, Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and a Aston Martin V8 Vantage (Nearly got enough for that any way) oh and a Pagani Zonda Roadster. I like roadsters/spyders/convirtables :)

I hope the US release one will somehow have a manual transmission option. I hate the automatic transmissions...:grumpy:
 
The game has NO Manual transmittion? Geez, that's seriously a huge let down. I was really looking forward to tossing an Aston Martin around some windy roads, listening to the sound of the engine... and changing gears!.
I also can't drive without using Manual, but I'll just pretend it's another Driver game :sly:

Edit: What have taken the L2 and R2 spots then?
 
If this game doesn't have a manual transmission, I'm gonna cancel my pre-order and give up on 'em. There's absolutely no reason why a racing game shouldn't have a manual transmission.

I'm trying to figure out where the option was on the 360 version, but it's been a while since I've played it. Damn, I hope someone finds the option somewhere soon. I need to cancel my order if it doesn't have it. Ahh! :grumpy:
