So we've got funny threads for pictures, videos and gifs, as well as amazing photo and video threads, however no amazing gifs thread. Here are some machines explained through the animation of the gif. Name the device?

1 = Radial Engines
2 = Steam engine Principle
3 = Sewing Machine
4 = Maltese Cross Mechanism this type of mechanism is used in clocks to power the second hand movement.
5 = Manual Transmission Mechanism
6 = Constant Velocity Joint
7 = Torpedo-Boat destroyer System
8 = Rotary Engine

Did I win? :D

Nope. #7 in particular is an illustration of the operation of a battleship's main guns and has nothing to do with torpedo boat destroyers other than both are "naval things".

Likewise, I don't see how #2 has anything whatsoever to do with steam locomotives.

Well I'm assuming Exigeracer got all the gif's from this link as they're exactly the same and in the same order so I'm still giving myself a gold star ;)

BTW I saw this website a while ago although still had to search to find the page.

So lower quality cameras register images on their censors from top left to bottom right, which only takes a split second. When you're photographing things moving quickly, it makes some cool images. Here are a couple photos from an iPhone 4:

Interesting pics, but as far as I can tell, the theory makes no sense? Anyone care to elaborate

Anyone want to take a crack at my bad code? I don't know what the problem is.
I think the address for the images was too long and the forum software put a space in, thus making them not work.

Possibly.

You've got to laugh at the kids helmet, I'm not sure how effective it would be from that hight...not even Mumbai is free from health and safety!
