Wich should be the track for the last race?

I'm sure there will be afew setups flying round for tracks that aren't on the schedule.

Could probably throw afew iRacing credits in the way of a member who can tune a car well.

I think we can all work together in adapting the setups for the respective tracks. Let's face it, this car is all we're gonna be driving on week 13 and the start of the season, that and you can pretty much expect a lot of hosted sessions with the Caddy running all over the place!

Never run in hosted sessions, so not quite sure how setup restrictions work. Do they have so the host can create a custom setup and require that all cars us it? Is this what we mean by "fixed setup"?

The only problem I see with running fixed setup is catering to both the exerienced and less-experienced drivers. That being said, I am leaning more towards fixed setup than open setup. It's comforting to know I'm behind for no other reason than my driving.

I really don't know much about restricing setups in hosted sessions or tuning itself, so I'll leave this discussion to the more qualified participants.

Copy that on waiting to further discuss the schedule.

I am for fixed setups

Quick tip - fast drivers are fast on every setup. Leave it open.

Yes, you can enforce a fixed setup from your own setup bank or iRacing's own.

True, but a good setup in this car will give you an edge of arround 3-4 seconds. I know it does in the C6.R, in that car I'm generally 2-3 seconds faster on a good setup compared to the fixed setups. And we can expect this car to be pretty similar to the C6.R in terms of adjustability and handling. Now pair a good setup with an advanced driver wich ussally is good with setups and you're in for a good spanking if you can't develop your own setup!

So far this looks like it could be an interesting series. Plenty of competition, so everybody should have some good battles. I wonder if the maximum entries will be hit .....

I thought I already posted this but cant find it.

So what I was trying to post was that when this GTP league goes live we should try to contact Jordan to run a news blurb about it to get us a little more exposure when the car gets added to the simulation. I just want to strongly advise waiting til the car is added for real before we send him a msg

Lol! Check on the members thread! Lol!!
Let's see what happens, there seems to be interest from a potential sponsor for the series with a very nice prize...
;-)

This isn't a bad idea. Someone else also mentioned that we could send a holler to the ISR guys and have the series featured on their show. :)

How about we let that person decide where Race 6 is held? And maybe announce it after Race 5 ends. It'll add a level of surprise and nobody will be prepared ahead of time.

The only problem is funding for some and a surprise may be out of question by the time round 6 rolls around for some. But I like the idea of a sponsor picked round.

Can I still sign up for this?

I don't see why not. The more the merrier. You'll be missing out if you don't sign up.👍

Just like to say I'm pretty excited for this series. I just hope work doesn't get in the way too much. Lately its been 6 and 7 day work weeks. Hoping it slows down just a little bit. Its crazy how many cars Honda and Toyota are making right now.

what members thread?

I'm really looking forward to this series. My main car is the ARX, and I have been in it since day one, so getting into another car will make me feel like I'm cheating on it. However, if the Cadillac is as pleasant to drive as the Ford GT, I may.

I would like to join this series. Only thing that is conditional is the time, I'm currently in GMT +1, so if the race is not at some crazy time, I can probably join.

Excellent news, well done Jav! And everyone else here!

Also, for the entry list. I'll take car #89 please, team name "GB Racing Team". My time zone is UTC.

Thanks for the sponsorship, Derek. It's going to step up that level of competition, that's for sure.

UTC stands for Coordinated Universal time. It is not a time zone. See the following link for the time zone of your area:

You know we can make all of this much easier by using plain old simple EST.:)

That's a really nice gesture Derek 👍 Particularly as there was a bit of "rough ride' for you in the Sim Racing Hardware section! :)

PS: It's safer in here (well, relatively!) lol
