Shoutout to @Ilias for putting in super quick and consistent lap times at the end there! Luckily I kept my head up and had a solid session on the last day to get the top spot. Thanks everyone for your support, peace out!

Congratulations to @hotsaucer Great feat!

I did few laps last weekend and clocked 1:26:4xx but didnt find time to have a go again.

A question to rest of the guys, I tried same car, same setup in Time Trial Mode my first lap was 1:25:3xx Should there be a difference in behaviour of car in TT and Seasonal? 2J was very nice to drive in Trial than Seasonal.

Yes, it is. something With the track temperature.

I also notice that it is much more difficult in a tt. that is a fact. Some corners they put oil on the track or something :P

THAT IS REALITY . BUT car is better with dirty oil because have better proportion kg/HP . ( I don not know how is it ) . Advantage for partaker that use . contest unegual . Conclusion: best lap time with dirty oil (advantage) 1:21,726 . Best lap time with not this advantage 1:21,865
Best in Greese , best in the World with not advantage Ilias_Ana_94
THAT IS EXACTLY REALITY .

Monaco Grand Prix is this weekend! I wanted to share this with you guys:

Unbelievable lap. I get the chills watching it. Senna just destroys the circuit!!! No driver aids, 1000+ HP

FYI If you don't have cable you can stream the race off of a site like: http://www.usagoals.co/

One last thing, fastest lap in this seasonal:
without Active Steering 1:21.726 (hotsaucer)
with Active Steering 1:21.865 (Ilias)

If this is a response to @kostasj 's post, AS is barely any advantage here at all, 1-2 tenths at most. a dirty oil could be as much as 3-4 tenths advantage (I know this because I ran dirty oil in the Ferrari FXX at ascari and that was almost 6 tenths difference).
That said, everyone is free to wear down their oil, everyone is free to use AS, its the same for everyone. In the end you where the fastest, and that is what counts!

My oil ran dirty and it was a unique situation as it's never happened to me before. I was in the low 1:21.9's before my oil was dirty, so the theory of gaining 4 tenths from that time is nonsensical.
It's annoying that I put all this effort in and finally get p1, then get slammed as an 'advantage player'.. it's a joke. I acknowledged Ilias several times for his efforts but still it seems people just want to complain about something.
AS is an advantage in laptime, but it's also an advantage in the way of being able to put a lap together and hook up sectors. Also should mention my "advantage setup" has 450 ft. lb of torque compared to the standard 455. So actually have less net engine power than normal. There's so many ways to look at it, but in the end I just hate haters lol

Great stuff, thanks for sharing! I was there in 1990 :). Watching Senna sneaking in the chicane was stunning (I was sitting at the end of the tunnel). The best pilot ever in my opinion.

Edit: Sorry for the frustrating... Come on Ricci and win this race!!! About 2 weeks Max and Dniel have the same new motor. I think they can be world champion.

I'm not criticising your efforts mate, on the contrary! You where the fastest, that is all that counts.
The only time I would criticise someones efforts is if they where cheating. But wearing the oil down is not cheating, it's fully within PD's regualtions. They where the one that implemeted the worn oil function.
I would have worn down the oil myself if I only had the time. But I only did about 2 hours on this combo. Never bothered to go for a serious attempt at a higher position. Even if I had put the effort in, and worn down my oil etc. I still dont think I would have beaten your lap.
Dont call me a hater when I'm really not hating.

Just to make it dirty won't take a lot of miles, getting the engine worn is much longer, unless using shortcut :) So, what matters then is the odometer/distance traveled by the car :) This has been used since GT5, when PP limited TT needs more HP than torque ( cars with more than 8000miles used )

I did gold this TT easily with Calibra touring car :D Still nostalgic driving it, the old Sega Touring Car :P

engine oil: 5000km (5% powerloss)
engine short term wear: 15 300km (5% powerloss)
engine long term wear: 300 000km (5% powerloss)
getting those last few % from long term is too much, but 15k km is doable.
I dont have the exact numbers, but the 2J had about 360bhp IIRC, 10 % decrease in power is 36bhp, when adjusted to back to the same PP, you usually gert to keep one third of that, or to put it simply, 3-3,5% of the total power.
in this case, about 10-12bhp.
So, in this TT, a car that has worn down its oil and short term engine wear (15300km on hte odo) will have a 10bhp advantage. sure you loose a bit low end torque, and yes, the 3-speed gearbox means you need a wide powerband. But it is still a slight advantage.

With some tweaks I think I found a way to do school and maybe some other videos without filming a screen but the process is little bit annoying, I actually got so frustrated at one point that I deleted almost all games from my PS3. So be honest, is this looking any better than offscreen footage?
Looks close to what YT videos are, and it's of course more consistent than even camera on a stand. Sound also seemed good, though longer videos would settle that issue definitively.

Edit: that erroneous post made me believe, before seeing it, that this browser doesn't work good at GTP anymore. :D

Thanks for the feedback :) it's the most I could get out of it. Problem is that this tool records in the .avi format and makes video that should realistically be like 20 mb at most in .mp4 or so like 600-800 mb. I tried it on different games, also tried gameplay and it's wildly unstable. It can be good only for making shorter clips or it will fry PS3 definitely. But it's still more than I expected from this console. Also my PC is bad so I have to convert it on my phone and couldn't find any decent converter to keep quality of the original file. Anyways I did the school with it but its not very good (frame rate drops wildly and all the other stuff).

btw I didn't understood your edit part, sorrry :(

I'm going to miss your gifs.
And i will miss everything ,but am not complaining .
All these years ,many times i was in a hurry to get back home and start the game .
I have beautiful memories from all the guys here , present and not present .
The close of an era , automatically means that a new era start's .
Better or worst ? Only time can tell .
Maybe we " lost" eachother in the next few months but we will meet again .
As long we are in good health and things are rolling , am sure the gang will meet again .

Am on a ship to go across from Spetses right now

MY LAST LAP ON THE CHALLENGE HUB EVER!!! :(

Thank all of you guys so much for amazing time through all of the years I was part of our little community
IMG_20211216_220525~3.jpg

I wish I had my wheel to finish my last stint and to have chance to win bit I'm happy because I gave my best with thrash broken controller.

I hope we all reconnect in some other "productive" project soon but also to stay in touch no matter if we will play GT7, GT3 or SIms On PC.

Also thank you Babis @smoothbore12 for reminding me lasf few days on the beginning when I just came in here :) Biggest thanks to boss Bryce @bjl23 for doing crazy job.. Honorable mention to Hugh @RMan72 for being major pain in the ass all the time.

I'll probably stay doing schools for a while with Noel if I set my DFGT back soon and as for next year I still don't know if I'll buy PS4 + GT7 or I'll go different direction with PC and some very cool racing games which still support wheels I'll have at disposal (g25, g27, dfgt etc)

Love you guys

Thank all of you guys so much for amazing time through all of the years I was part of our little community
View attachment 1099838

Love you to Tinkerbell ( hope Bryce don't be jealous ) .
Outstanding lap , considering the pp at 550 with the world record at 21.7 with that time at 600pp probably your time can put you at top 50 or less .
Its hell of a " train" the chapy on this track , isn't ?

So i guess you deserve the gif of the day .
For all those guys with their outstanding performance ,that make us feel poor relatives sometimes !!!!!

Wanted everyone to know that the hub is not ending but being passed the Noel and I. We will continue with the "school " races as well as No Tune and time trials.
Noel and I will continue the selection of the tracks, cars and rabbits for the regular school race. This is the race that requires a video. Same rules, clean racing. Remember it doesn't matter if you win, because there will be some that you can't.
The No Tune races are open to suggestion. We know that they can be done clean. No video but will rely on the honor system.
The Time Trials will be user generated. The only requirement is to participate in the school race. With that the winner of the race will get to choose the track. 2nd place gets to choose the car.
All submissions for each event should be sent via PM to both Noel and I.
Event new event will be a continual in the thread.
Once winners are announced participants are welcome to share their pictures and posts.
I encourage that everyone work together with tunes and insights.
We want this to be fun.. If you have suggestions please send them via PM to us.
The first Time Trial event. @RMan72 will select the track and @smoothbore12 chooses the car.
The school race and no tune will be announced at the end of the current race.
I hope that this will continue to be looked forward to as was all that Bryce's work was.
Cheers
Barnabas

Thanks Babis :)
Regarding the Chaparral, it's hard for me to say anything about a car because I'm really not used to drive on a pad, I miss throttle and break control also with SRF I can't judge the car. All I know is that the setup you shared works perfectly with this settings but it would be undrivable with no aids. I had very bad exits out of the corners(IMO) and also chickened out at the end of the lap because I wanted to end misery of entering in 19s. I think maybe we would see 17s if leaderboards were up on 600pp 2J. There are some really fast guys like Numbuh (Mar) who is here on div1. I raced him few times online too and even managed to win 1 time but he recovered like 10 seconds on me on Fuji In 1 lap I think and I just won basically a drag race on the final straight (Ferrari 458 vs Audi R8 :)). So to stop rambling now, I wanted to say I really enjoyed your combo's for the last round :)

 for your lap at FIRE AT WILL
Not sure I can improve that much

You are so much quicker on the straights than me
thanks Hugh.. I really can't think of a reason why..but I'll try to guess differences if you use between our cars if you're using the same setup.. First I messed with a final drive.. It's not 4100 for me but around 3800 if I recall correctly, second I think in this combo MT is faster than AT.. Third I don't know if that matters is that my Chappy has 700 or 800 km.. If that helps I don't know if I'll be happy or sad when you beat me lol
Also maybe I don't suck with a pad as much as I think I do.. but will try with a wheel when I find a place to put it..

edit.. If you want my final gear ratio exact, I'll make photos of setup when I can but I don't think I touched anything else

Its not such important the final gear ,well that's what i think.
Your lap was outrageous fast anyway and you didn't use the brakes except few places .
Was like racing on RS and not RH as we saw at your vid .
Possessed ps3 ha ha ha .

Yea, I don't know, I'm far away from being a setup wizard lol (don't know anything about it).
I have no other explanations than why is my car faster on straight except corner exits but I honestly thought I could've done them better on quite a few places. I also didn't use Active Steering which I sometimes use in similar challenges. I actually thought my car was under 600pp when I did this lap because of kms I did but it didn't move since I didn't exit stint for some time (long time).

While I was testing screen recording on PS3 I had few laps recorded if anyone cares. They are short anyways. I think Kart one was my first ever entry in The Challenge Hub when I had set up in really akward position and did 361 lap stint to beat Hugh's time even tho I was in different division. I thought back than it was great time, it shows now that I messed up last part of the track to get into 24s. Second one obviously also includes chasing Hugh and manage to beat the time 5 minutes before deadline (also some mess at the end of the lap). Good but also frustrating memories :)
If someone wants to try beat the times, I'll leave vids and times. I had recorded one on GW 5-1 when I did 42.9xx which is fastest time I saw on that one but audio was a mess so I think I deleted it. Anyways..

No Tune Round 28
25.005

No Tune Round 76
1:05.751

btw Bryce @bjl23 I know it's annoying but Id really like that cheese throphy for some reason. dont want to be stuck at 19/20 lol sorry mate
