PD didnt tell you that the all cars would have interior. You did.
PD didnt tell you that all standards will be just like premiums. You did.
PD didnt say that they were including every track from past GTs. You did.
PD didnt say that all sport cars would be premiums. You did.
PD didnt tell you that all of your favorite cars would be in the game. You did.
PD didnt claim that the Buggati Veyron just had to be premium. You did.
PD didnt say that every single region would get the same rate of cars You did.
PD never promised all of the supercars would be premium. You did.

Well we didn't ask for 5 years development. They did. And it's like 50% of the game's content are all under the hood. Not things that you can see. We expected alot of things we asked for. Instead they gave us things that they want. Great game anyway. To me it only lacks a livery editor and some cars.

I think if someone wants someone to stop complaining they'll be considered complaining?

You guys are so smartest.

Lol they gave you things they want haha. what? Make ur own game then?

I don't get some people. Just because this is a forum dedicated to GT does not mean we can't complain about it. Now, I realize that some people just outright troll but some have legitimate opinions. Just because their views go against yours does not mean you must stop them.

I understand the reasons behind the complaining. Every game has it's flaws but we are at a stage where gt5 is done and is being shipped to stores everywhere. It is sort of useless to keep arguing standard cars anymore since they probably won't change. You either learn to live with them or you don't get the game. The arguing should be about other features now. Things like damage, AI, the way the game runs, etc. The thing is hitting shelves.

And some people have legitimate issues to complain about. You are assuming it's one as if it's not possible it's the other.

Too much for who? You? Well... that's unfortunate... it's the internet... it's a big bad place where a lot goes on, some of which you may not personally like.

You do realize being able to see a bad decision doesn't necessitate doing the whole job better right? I can tell when a QB throws a pass across his body off his back foot, but I sure can't win a superbowl or pass an 80 yard pass...

As for knowing how hard it is, I am not saying it's easy, but what exactly makes you an expert on exactly how hard it is? Do YOU actually know how to program a whole game and managed a development shop or are you just guessing and assuming? I kind of get the feeling it's the latter...

It is completely fair if a person likes or dislikes a game or hates something. But constant complaining over it 👎

Game director and managing a game like GT is not picked randomly on ninternetsforums I am sure of that. Kaz is the best man for the job and I think he gets full support from Sony. Many people may not like some of his decision and no matter what he had done they will always find flaws. The positives should overhaul the negatives but no let us complain after all forums are meant for this purpose

it doesnt help.

PD knows EXACLY what this game is missing. they love cars and the GT series just as much, if not more than we do.

However...

yes the game has flaws. they've said weird things regarding the interiors (confusing things)
same with the damage
and a couple of other things probably.

however, i am not a person who belives that complaining helps with the game. i do however belive that people find it easier to complain about the stuff missing (and whatever) instead of talking about all the cool things and additions we get compared to gran turismo 4... (its easier saying "this weather is horrible" instead of saying: oh boy i can finally get to use my raincoat again!)
i mean, gran turismo 4 is need for speed underground compared to GT5, imo. (okay, blasphemi, but you get the point.. :P)

theres just so many nice things in the game, and complaining about the stuff that you wished was in the game, but isn't is only decreasing your gaming experience next week.
(also what i belive is gonna give GT5 reduced review scores ect.) Making the game less fun, less impressive and giving it shorter lifespan...

I, however see the positive things... :)

Uhmm.. Anyone else see the irony in this thread?

No. The amount of crying on these forums is sad. I have no problem with someone making a logical statement in a respectful manner but many here are simply sulking and crying over minor issues and they repeat them over an over again. That has grown old on many of us here. If you want to do nothing but cry about what GT5 isn't go start your own forum titled "whatGT5shouldhavebeen.com"

Instead of complaning about GT5, People have now begun complainnig about the complaint thread! His plan seems to have worked.

Perhaps you should create a forum called "OnlyGoodStuffAboutGT5.com"?

I think people complained about GT5 because they were expecting more from the game. Everything was ok until they revealed the Car/Track list. Those people expected to see their favourite cars and tracks but no so they started to complain. I felt bad too but when I think of GT5 I get too excited and willing to buy it as soon as possible.

GT5 is not the last game you are going to play, we still have GT6 which you should forget about it. PD decided to port standard cars so they fill the gap since they spent way too much time on Premium cars and couldn't produce more than what we have .. Hey that's just my guess .. but really think of it.

If you're complaining so much about GT5, why not go back and play FM3? It's really a nice game! And if GT5 is not enough to be a real sim, wait for rF2 👍

Bah.. back to sleep :sly:

If we had everything we asked for...

The game would not fit on one disc..
The PS3 would not be able to accommodated GT5..
And development would have been even longer...

I will take what I can get from this game. It will be great, and even though it doesn't have EVERYTHING I want. It will still be a epic game for me.

I think a lot of the people who complain need to come to terms with GT5. Even though its not 100% perfect, it still will be the best Gran Turismo game ever. ;)

If we had everything we asked for...

Nobody was expecting everything we asked for. What we were expecting, were more historically significant cars, more contemporary cars, and generally, a better car list, that isn't missing a LOT of classic cars that any "real driving simulator" should have. What PD have done is give us (barely) 200 new cars and 800+ old ones. They've also forgotten to include many significant real world tracks, and many favourites from the past games of the series.

These are crippling faults in many eyes, including mine. Unforgivable, after the wait.

So, we can stop whining from now until the release day. but it wont change the facts.

It's not the criticism I think we have a problem with, nor the mentions of disappointment. The biggest problem is that people are SO wrapped up in what they don't like that they've quite effectively blinded themselves from what they DO like. The sheer amount of what we're being given in GT5 is nothing short of amazing, but people are losing sight of that by overshadowing it with what they want for themselves, and not what they're being given.

You have full right to be disappointed if something you wanted isn't included. But to let that disappointment engulf you so much that you lack the appreciation of everything ELSE you're being given is simply ignorant. And I think THAT is what the problem is.

Doesn't the fact most of us are still buying it kind of refute that claim though?

I know the main reason I don't talk about the positives incesantly is that:

1: They were expected for so long it's not exactly new or news
2: After the time and money sunk into GT5 it's not really surprising
3: As Duke Nukem put it "After this many years, it better be good!"

200 cars is already a lot of cars ,that only a few of us die-hard GT fans will reach and surpass in the cars they drive/own. The there's 800 more.

I think Jack White can sum this up quite well:

I guess you have to have a problem
If you want to invent a contraption
first you cause a train wreck
And then you put me in traction
well first came an action
And then a reaction
But you can't switch around
For your own satisfaction
Well you burnt my house down
Then got mad at my reaction

Well in every complicated situation
There's a human relation
Making sense of it all
Take a whole lot of concentration
Well you can blame the baby
For her pregnant ma
And if there's one of these unavoidable laws

It's just that you can't just take the effect and make it the cause

[Chorus:]
Well you can't take the effect
And make it the cause
I didn't rob a bank
because you made up the law
Blame me for robbing peter
Don't you blame Paul
Can't take the effect
And make it the cause

I ain't the reason that you gave me
No reason to return your call
You built a house of cards
And got shocked when you saw them fall
Well I ain't saying I'm innocent
In fact the reverse
But if your heading to the grave
you Don't blame the hearse
You're like a little girl yelling at her brother
Cause you lost his ball

You keep blaming me for what you did
And that ain't all
The way you clean up the wreck
Is enough to give one pause
You seem to forget just how this song started
I'm reacting to you
because you left me broken hearted

See you just can't just take the effect and make it the cause

Ever thought about the logic that SO many people wouldn't be complaining if there was really nothing to be disappointed about? This is a GT fan site, where people clearly WANT to like the game as much as possible. Of course folks are over-doing the whining on both sides as each side eggs the other on, but there are real reasons (lack of communication, hype building on PD's part) that caused the situation initially.

To take one side and make a dedicated thread about how you're right and all these 'complainers' are wrong, pretty much says you can't see both sides of the story, because you're too invested in one side. For EVERYTHING there is a cause and effect.

**snippity snip snip**

You're beating your head against a brick wall there my friend.

The people you're aiming this thread at are clearly either too immature or simply too unintelligent to realise what they are doing. Welcome to the human condition.

Criticism is totally fine. Especially about the lack of interior view, where anyone can see that they could just put a general panel like in GTPSP. GT5 is not perfect, and no GT will ever be. The problem is not the complaining, it's the pure crying with no objective at all, with stuff like "oh I love that track and it's not in the game how can they spend 5 years and not put that track in", or exaggerations, like some people that treat standard cars like they'd be just a ctrl+c ctrl+v from GT4 with PS2 textures.

Things have just shifted too quickly. At E3 everybody was gathering info and saying "cool, this car is in, that track is in, I think Spa will not be in the game, bummer". Now it's all rage and a lot of people seem to have forgotten what they thought was cool about the game. Still, like I said, I think valid, based criticism is good.

I wonder if those who hate the repetitious complaining so much realize that much of the repetitions comes from explaining/debating with apologists and denialists who just wouldn't concede the truth... in short: if the repetitious complaining gets to you, you should really be getting angry at the ones who made it necessary to repeat... those of us with complaints don't just sit around complaining to each other over and over... you can only preach to the choir for so long.
