Next week's Summit event names are all puns on Bond film titles and are quite amusing.

I must admit that even I found the new IVT car easy to drive.

I've purchased the Defender for next week's summit in TC2 - waiting for it to get transferred across to TCM.

I only did 3 of the summit events this week, but try no-stopping the event "A Dream Worth Exploring". Definitely some finesse needed on the final lap, but it's faster than stopping. I did 4:58, top 500.
Yeah once those tyres go off the cliff its like a spinning office chair lol, I went with a one stop after spinning out 2 corners from the end.

General question since i only got into this game a few weeks ago: Does it make a difference on which difficulty i do the summit events?
Also: When re-calibrating the legendary upgrade item, is there any way to "force" a specific affix? e.g. nitro chemist? would make it a bit easier to get platinum

No, it doesn't matter what difficulty you use. The score is based on your time only. Of course events that require a win to be completed still need a win. The score is still based on time only.

Re-calibration is totally random. There's are no shortcuts. Unless you are extremely lucky. Also set affixes like Nitro Chemist, Score Breaker, Loot Digger can't be changed. Those are permanent.
One more thing. While legendary (gold) parts are the most powerful, epic (pink) are not that bad.

The disadvantage of my approach of running through the Playlists gradually is that I keep unlocking new instances of that damn "get to top 15 in Summit" challenge... along with restrictive challenges for Custom Show cars.

I have done the Motorsport playlist this week as I knew there would be AGP restricted challenges in it, so I need to get a few of those done before Wednesday.

Alright thanks. For the most important classes, (Street 2, hypercars, racing), i have plenty of legendaries but struggle to get full sets, only have a few with the 3/7 bonus so far. But then the grind continues :D

Is it best to merge epic items (when enough ressources are available) for legendaries or just scrap them all if inventory is full?

I saw some screenshots of platinum summit drivers with 1/5 difficulty so i thought maybe it can make a difference. I guess for some races (high-speed highway races with hypercars) it could make sense to even try highest difficulty to gain more speed by driving in slipstream and therefor have a better time?

Although i mostly am fine with gold in summits because vanity rewards mean nothing to me. Only pushing for platinum when there is a car to win

From my experience merging is a waste. For example, in Hypercars I had 5 cars only missing the Motorcore Nitro for the full Nitro Chemist set. I spent so many spare parts while merging the parts that I run out of it. Now money is easy to farm. Spare parts not that much. In the end got the remaining Motorcore parts trough normal loot.
So my advice is keep grinding Racing DNA (best for farming parts) from Ferrari playlist and scrap everything you don't need. If you really want to merge, do it with gold parts only.

Exactly.

Getting top 15 is easy.... when the Grand Race starts with only 14 players. 😂

I'll save some spare parts then, thanks. Currently i still have about half of all playlists left so will do those first before really i'm gonna start farming particular pieces but thanks for the advice on the race.

And yeah, money is easy to grind. Already at 7+ mio again despite having to buy pretty much everything for the summits still

I think the harder the lvl the better the loot so set it to where you are just about able to win then grind and just keep all loot affixes and you will get some gold parts pretty quick but they will be random. The historic combi tracks pretty simple and under 2mins a run

I have the game on 4 accounts, so have started from scratch several times now. On all 4 accounts I've been able to get platinum in every summit from the first week of playing. The most important thing is to have a set of pink parts with the right affixes. With the ability to merge 3 blues into a pink, it's now very easy to get a set of pink parts. You can easily get platinum with pink parts and the right affixes. I generally haven't bothered merging pink parts into gold, as it's so expensive, I've just let the gold sets build up gradually. Half gold sets can get you very high up on the leaderboard.

Difficulty 1/5 is normally best for the summit, as it's best to get ahead of the AI as early as possible. An exception can be events where you will lap the AI on 1/5, it can be better for those to increase the difficulty so you don't lap the AI, provided they don't slow you down at the start. The AI are generally too slow for it to be useful to try to benefit from slipstream.

Ive tried two races this morning in the summit quit out of them both... Race 1 jet and boat... & Race 6 horrific land rover... a sound decision!!!

Public Service Announcements re the Summit:

1. It is COMPULSORY to play the following during Tomorrow Never Drives

2. The CORRECT order is
I Expect You To Drive (pre credits sequence)
The GPS Is Dead (slow bit after the theme tune)
No Time to Drive
For Hawaii (taking out the villains henchman)
Drive Another Day
Tomorrow Never Drives (the grand finale)

3. Watch out for the 2 motorbike jumps in TND don't overdo the boost as your will miss both checkpoints like i did first time around.

(Bonus: obviously this is the week to use Goldfinger ;) )

PS one of the new challenges requires 3 Summit events in a McLaren which you can't do this week or next, so Crown Jewels in 2 weeks must have a McLaren event.

Regarding your last paragraph, you CAN actually get it done this week, the Bullseye event on the bottom left is the one you want.

The water isn’t deep enough to drown the car and as long you can keep moving and maybe have a full Score Breaker set, you can pass the activity.

Rinse and repeat 3 times. :sly:

I was lucky and had several scorebreakers sets completed but not recalibrated so i did one with the extra skillz and the trawler maxed out i got 157k easily

btw guys can we do anything with the legend points after all the slots are maxed out I've got 977 spare now?

Ah, thanks for the tip 👍
I had assumed the Feats didn't count as for quite a lot of things they don't (for instance quite often there is a "complete 2 summit events with this week's vehicle" in Main Stage Challenges and that never registers for Summit Feats).

Unfortunately I hate doing Bull-**** feats and I'm not doing them again  so I'll use the McLarens another week.

If only you could donate them to the needy...
(well, me, basically).

HELL NO !!! “It is mine, I tell you. My own. My precious. Yes, my precious.”

I was hoping they would max out at 1000/1000 but they keep accumulating. I'm at 1600/1000 and it's not stopping. It's like the game is mocking me for leveling too much. 😭
It's similar to spare parts accumulating beyond 99.999.999. You can only buy so much Crew Credits or save Bucks. But the spare parts can reach numbers unknown to humans. 🤯

Big breaking news about next month!
We're getting a green car and a white car!
Copying Kaz's GT7 silhouettes now...

Can anyone identify the cars from this?
 left looks like an M4/M5 maybe?

Knowing that Kunos continues to make 3D models for IVT, it would not be strange if one of those cars (if it is a BMW) is the M2 G87 or maybe the M4 CSL, seeing that Kunos already made them for AC Evo.

Things I have learnt today - the US Speed Tour host from TC2 is called Bob Schwartz.

Half way through the Ocean N Sky. Flying around reminds you how gorgeous the island looks. Those cross winds are a killer though! (Obviously they used the TC2 storm events as a warm up for TCM).

They really need to do another similar Playlist for Maui.

I had to mute him because every time a race pass through or end in New York he needs to comment: "If you make it here, you can make it everywhere". And than Liza start to sing in my head for hours. And now it started again..... I don't even like her. 😤

I really like the voiceovers in TC2. Yes, it's a bit cringe in places, but it's fun all the same. For Seattle he says "Here we are now, entertain us". I'm not sure absolutely 100% of people will get that one. I asked a friend who I know has the album if he understood it, and he recognised the line, but hadn't been aware of Nirvana's association with Seattle.

It's not that I hate it. I still wonder why are there the same lines in different races. Or why do the endurance races use 4 different lines, but 3 are the same as regular races. Imo it would be better if 3 lap races had 2 lines and endurance the other 2. Instead I need to hear him saying stuff like: "San Francisco has many nicknames. I call it home. I've been living here for 30 years", every single time I start a race in SF.
I think in Motorfest they did a much better job for voice covers. You only hear them in Playlist mode. But than because of that they had to force you to use a loaned car.
You can have it all, I guess.

Another blurry teaser...

I finished Ocean N Sky today. The choppy waters in the Lamborghini event were difficult as was the wind shear on top of the volcano.

Incidentally, I tried to fly into the volcano once - you don't get far down towards the inside before the game magically blows you back up again.

While flying around clearing the first few challenges I found the last camera collectible from the Hollywood Action challenges. I like having the wrecks to find which reminds me of the original Test Drive Unlimited.
