^^^ Why not. It's over 1.57.000 seconds later anyway.
I'm sure dirt demo had it?

It is possible that PD is hiding the full damage, waiting to reveal it latter. Not very likely, but possible.

And I'm sticking to that up to the very end

Seriously, damage is the feature I've been looking forward the most :nervous:

I think it is. There is some big racing games due out before GT5 with F1 and TDU2.

We have yet to see mechanical damage at all, but it's a confirmed feature. I believe for this reason alone we are only seeing cosmetic damage.

The full simulator damage has yet to be seen.👍

I was wrong then, my misstake.
Damage is not a secret anymore, why not include in a demo, unless.

I kind of liked the way RBR did it... take what they did back in 2004, update it for modern day and I think we would have a winner.

RBR actually modelled the engine combustion cycles so that's beyond any game right now :)

If GT5 had that, you would be able to tune the engine internally! :D

Damage, if you cant do it right dont do it at all.

Youre basically totalling your car multiple times just to get a bent bumper or hood. If its going to be that downplayed why even do it. In an online race youll see a car with a few dents and you can only imagine what kind of epic crash it took just to get that. They might as well leave that out of the game and use the cpu speed for something better if they arent going to remotely attempt to be realistic...plus, I like looking at pristine cars on the track. Take grid for example, the damage works, you can total a car and have it down to the friggin radiator support after a hit. Its just my opinion but you guys are making way too much over something that is so minimal it hurts its sim name.

We don't know settings are being used. From what I've seen it seems to take way to much to build up damage, but it could just be set that way, who knows.

Though I'm upset that the real damage, mechanical, isn't being shown enough. No matter what the Audi looked like in that damage video, if it ceased to work after that 90 mph crash, I would have been pleased.

I honestly woner how a game like that holds the gold standard on so many fronts even after 6 years... then again I guess the NASCAR 2003 guys wonder the same thing.

I do know they arent allowed by the manufacturer to have cars completely disabled...they have to run...that was part of their "deal".

maybe, but those guys let it get to their heads... I mean, $15 a month for a racing game??

^^^ abit?

The car should be a right off.

I am not sure but anyways if they had wanted to show the damage they would have done at E3 ? Instead they just released some trailer including the damage one. So on PS Beta event I think it is not of latest one. It is beta version ;)

If they take more serious damage I am sure many will like it. I still think it is ok and not overdone like other games.

I want to know how people who are critical of GT can garner rallying cries of "should be banned", while frankly pointless posts like the one above are tolerated.

I want to know why anyone should be banned for having an opinion.

Go have your opinion in a relevant thread?

(EDIT) For the sake of clarification, I guess there isn't technically a relevant thread for obvious trolling with no actual discussion points to be had. And, just to stay on topic; I certainly hope this damage build is an old one, because to have a bumper phasing through the Enzo like that is kind of a joke. Not to mention the sheer speed people are traveling to get what is some very minor looking damage. I can at least understand the lack of mechanical damage being noticeable though; for the sake of demo purposes, people only have 2min to drive, I guess PD would rather have them actually do that for as much of the time limit as they can, and just get a visual hint of things to come.

I want damage to be as realistic as possible simply because Kaz said that was his goal. I understand it can become an issue for some people on a full-grid race, and it might mean your lap times will reflect this difficulty... but that's the same thing as real life. If you're concerned with wringing the absolute fastest time from a car on a track, Time Trial still works well for that. A race brings a whole new challenge into it; you've gotta aim for those fast times, but you have to balance it with the life of your car, and the added difficulty (and a master-able skill) of being able to pass opponents. It's exciting, and while I'm sure there will be times I'll want it off, I do hope now that it's in, it's implemented well.

Normally, it's either, full, cosmetic or off.

Not many more options available really.

Well lets say the damage does go to an extreme level. Once a car has hit that extreme level of damage lets say missing tire, the car shouldn't be able to drive well at all. If cosemtic damage is on however then it just wouldn't make sense having a missing wheel and still being able to drive normal. So im guessing this is on cosmetic damage but not simulation.

I'm just posting this picture after reading the past couple of pages. Why post your opinion about the picture I posted and then tell me to go somewhere else.

You're just flame baiting, is what your doing & it's not relevant at all to the discussion.

So he's right, go take to another thread where Forza is actually part of the discussion, not GT5's damage & people's opinions on being done right or wrong.

This is actually impossible level of damage.I can't believe that it's so detailed!Well done. One thing - impact damage (collision physics) - little unrealistic to me - like plastic cars.I thing Forza has done good job on collision physics.

Well I am sorry I was hoping to get positive reply's. I guess I was wrong though. Next time I will think about what and where I am posting.

So we have people making judgements on a beta version with some damage included? Why? I'm pretty sure a beta is just that, and not the final game. I'm not going to jump to conclusions because to me damage is whatever. Those are for people who crash or want to ram or can't stay off the wall. None of those defines a clean racer, which I try my hardest to be, and is probably the fastest way to be

The reason why I want realistic damage is because I am a clean racer and interested in clean racing. Well, not the only reason but the most important one.

I'm sure that this is an older build damage model. But just getting some damage is fine with me, especially when its real time and not canned pre-scripted damage. The big thing I want is mechanical damage effecting the way the car behaves.

I would like a reward system similar to Forzas.
Where by the credits earned are related to what aids, damage level you race on.
Full damage, no aids = the max amount you can earn per event.

That forza pic looks like one of my sons hot wheels after a day of his abuse.(I buy him one every time I go grocery shopping)..it might be accurate for a hot wheel because its all metal, but the bumper looking its made of metal is kind of funny.
