When he hit the first fence, it just bounced away. Do you even know what would really happen? Car would be undriveable.

To be honest if thats the final level of damage then im very happy because that more than enough for me and it easily equals and even surpasses other racing games damage with licensed cars. Up until now I think GRID damage impressed me the most.

I just hope that damage will be on all cars, because these pics dont seem to suggest a total distruction damage model im sure manufacturers will find it reasonable enough.

Does it also look like they have taken a page from the Ferrari handbook and do not want to damage their pristine head lights?

OOC : Do we need to have 3 threads talking about the same thing?

I shall query that with a Mod... perhaps they can try to make one thread talk about damage?!

This is a photoshop'd image created by @jantsu92 way back - sad thing is that it gets me more excited that the actual damage we've seen today

Yes, I wouldn't like that to happen. I like racing, but not standing outside the wrecked car, looking at all that real-life damage and wondering whether my insurance will cover it all. :indiff:

It better be on all cars.... how hard is it to have bumpers lean over slighty and doors open... hardly damage.

Thats what I was saying, if they are going to go with this level of damage then there is no reason why all the cars cannot have damage. I would be happy with this level on all cars, but if its this level of damage only on race cars then its very dissapointing.

KY always promises too much and then has to cut back because he realises its unrealistic to do, like when he said he would only do damage if it was 100% realistic and he waited till the PS3 generation to do it... its all talk...

I think it's a very stupid thing to do having some cars with damage and some without , if one car has damage then all should have damage . If PD is'nt done modeling all the cars with damage they should of waited until all are complete before they show us a colision like that one car battered and the other one without a sratch . The damage modeling looks great but what they are doin just does'nt make sense.

Exactly

Only some cars damage = Half-assed job
Only body panels move slightly = Half-assed job

for pete's sake, stop whining you all. you're acting like bunch of kids who got a pair of socks instead of transformers-figure. This is only a limited demo gameplay, it doesn't have all of the features at 100%.

You guys can complain a lot..
damn..That damage does more than enough for me!

You guys really expect too much i guess...
Kaz and his men did a very good job,
point final.

Call me Captain Strangey McStrangepants if you will, but...

Physics: Standard/Professional
Damage: None/Standard/Professional

Not implausible, surely?

I Hope so, but that would not explain the undamaged Evo. Makes no sense having damage on some cars and making then race each other, thats the most wrong thing since videogames existed.

umm? no. ppl are making very valid points, you cant include dmg on some cars and not on others, that is the very definition of incomplete.

especially when... wait for it... forza 3 has full dmg on all cars.

sure it doesnt look AS gorgeous (still looks pretty fkn awesome), but im sure it'll be heaps of fun to play, especially with aerokits, livery system, etc.

it's been a long time coming this game, and i think its perfectly reasonable for ppl to expect alot from this game, especially since most of us have helped fund this game by buying gt5p. not to mention alot of us have bought ps3's practically for the sole purpose of playing this game.

I could not possibly agree any more with this. Hopefully its just an demo with incomplete features.

Makes sense to me. I'm not going to make any assumptions about damage till we get some more information, though.

It's more than possible that the current demo build has damage only set "ON" for the playable car...

Thank you Famine....c'mon people, think of some of the possibilities here.

Ok, so the Evo didn't get damaged...doesn't mean it won't be in the final product, and just because the Sti didn't show any slow down after being damaged like that, the option could've been turned off for mechanical, or it just wasn't present. I'm sure PD will get it right.

I like what i see.

A demo with damage only to the playable car isn't possible too?

I agree with that, but people use a few videos filmed off a 3 minute demo with no indication of respesenting the full game as a basis for judgement. That's dodgy to say the least.

Exactly what I was thinking. And with this being an event for the casual gamer, not everyone wants to have their experience ending after crashing at corner one, or having a car that is barely driveable after such a collision.

PD said on their site that GT5 would have deformation. This obviously isn't deformation so unless it was a terrible translation then this is not the top level of damage in GT5. Chill out, people.

Why do we need to explain anything about the "undamaged Evo" from a single car, single track, 3 minute, unannounced demo?

And the most wrong thing since videogames existed was either Leisure Suit Larry or Kennedy Approach.

That would be AWESOME!
