Let people choose, damage or no damage. You can choose before the race. If you want to race with the damage count of car repair. Simple...

Oh and one more thing. We need a tire bursting. Why? Because it also happens in the real races.

The option to choose between free repair after each race or the need to pay for it? Would be nice.
 
As I said it IS amazing, but still what is the purpose of all that if damage is not carried over?
I don't know...but I guess you'll have to ask all the other developers, in the same space, that question to find out.

Just for the record I'd love to see persistent damage in GT because it's a great idea but, at this point in time when PD have spent resources developing a brand new fantastic damage system from scratch and something that's completely new to the team, I think we can give them just a little breathing space.

What we have now is the very first step. No doubt Kaz will evolve it and down the line I'm sure a persistent system could be added to the series...maybe even for GT6.

This is a great start...but it's just an insight to the future of damage in GT.

I think if you chose the paying for damage option you should also be rewarded with a bit more money after the race for taking the risk.
 
I like to see damaged cars in my garage...To show them to my friends and say something like: "Oops!I don't have money to repair them now..."
 
Is all this still about an E-rated video game ?

Because things heat up as if we were talking about a super computer backed military project about to screw up its deadline.

This is somewhat sickly hilarious, so please don't stop. We just received a million folds blade, but it would've been sooooo much better with 500 more...:grumpy:
 
I'm still concerned about the latest damage model however.

The 458 Italia shows a crumpled front end. But with the 458 being carbon fibre and a form of composite fibre for its bumpers, it should shatter and snap, not crumple.

First it was because there was no damage... now it's because the damage are not so real... guys, this is the best game ever...

Everybody who complains about the damage not being perfect enough for them should be banned instantly.

Stop being so picky, you got damage like you wanted and it looks awesome. Be happy for what we have been given.
 
I likes this damage, yes it might not be accurate in terms of composites breaking differently to your average metal and platic, but so what, if they were to model each cars damage EXACTLY then we'd see GT5 in 2025

Oh my god.

Luckily we have a more democratic approach on this site. The mods do a good job of deciding who gets the ban.
I am happy that you are not a mod.
 
You have to be kidding me, First, there was bitching about no damage, then there was bitching about having a damage model(but it was not good enough) And now theres bitching about a damage system that has real time deformation, hit points, and is altogether, quite frankly impressive, but of course there is some type of fatal flaw with it, in this case, does not have(realistic properties)as you say...Are you serious,Are you happy? no, you complain, you complain about anything and everything no matter how small the detail, and yet you wonder why the game takes to long...Alot of self contradicting going on here..

I'm happy with the visual damage now. However, it will be stupid if you can demolish the car visually and keep driving but only with limited performance. I want the cars to have a damage limit so players really have to take care to complete the races. That would also partly eliminate the ease of overtaking cars by bumping into them.
