Jolyon Palmer is too good for Caterham:

http://m.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/116893/palmer-rejected-caterham-f1-chance

On the other hand, Esteban Ocon, Adderly Fong and Will Stevens were all over the moon with the chance to drive a Formula 1 car.

Caterham's a clown show at this point, so Palmer's right to stay away. Lotterer excepted, no driver the team has employed came out of it looking good. The guys fishing for that drive are probably damaging their chances with the rest of the grid.

An opportunity is an opportunity. Right now, there are just five seats available for 2015 - two McLaren, two Caterhams, and a Toro Rosso. I don't know what Palmer is expecting, but he's not under consideration at McLaren or Toro Rosso, so if he wants in, a Caterham is his only option.

Maybe he wants confirmation that they'll be on the grid next season, before he commits to anything. Which I can understand. That aside we've already got one British driver on the grid who thinks he's Jesus Christ; we definitely don't need another!

But they have plenty of it considering their budget for this year was around 200 million pounds so...

more to pour into development, interms of driver lineup, they are behind Merc, Ferrari, Mclaren (assuming Alonso)and possibly Williams (in my opinion). No need for that I reckon.

More likely he's in the Paul di Resta mould of a driver who has more ego than talent.
I know. Hence the second part of my post...

Still think money has a bit of play here, Ricciardo was on peanuts compared to Seb, imagine Kvyat will be the same.
Red Bull probably have more access to cash then anyone on the grid. A lot questioning Riccciardos appointment this time last year but he proved everyone wrong big time.

Ricciardo was on peanuts to seb because you have a 4 time world champion on one side and a driver promoted from STR on the other side with no real notable success, Ricciardos pay rise is definitely coming.

Palmers attitude should ban him from ever getting in F1.

Luckily there is no room anywhere for him to go next year so he will have to cry home to daddy.

Ron Dennis has implied Stoffel Vandoorne could be in contention for a McLaren seat, but Eric Boullier believes Vandoorne will do another season in GP2, clean house, and be in contention for a 2016 seat. I suspect they're looking at a Vandoorne/Magnussen line-up in the long term, so maybe Dennis will make an executive decision.

Elsewhere, Alex Lynn wrapped up the GP3 title, and his star seems to be on the rise at Toro Rosso, while Dean Stoneman has had a meteoric comeback, so I think he would be a viable option as well.

Links man we need them :scared:

Thanks for the info and I figured this would happen, after this year no one was looking for Perez it wasn't anything like his 2012 Sauber year. After being booted by McLaren and proving to the world why McLaren was right to drop him...he wasn't going anywhere else.

Also Force India said they weren't planning on changing the line up anyways and wanted to keep their current group so, not surprising and good for both parties. I don't mind Perez on the grid especially when he makes a certain Felipe Massa cry.

Totally disagree, In fact Perez was able to outperform in points to his replacement in Mclaren and gave a podium to FI

I am amazed as how some people still think than Perez is guilty of Mclaren debacle yet, when The problem at Mclaren is not The drivers, but well, both opinions (yours and mine) are subjective at The end :D

Perez did well this season, he was outscored by Hulkenburg but seemed to have his measure in the second half of the season, problem was the car could barely score points then so the points gap remained.

He still is highly inconsistent, doing the random podium dance only means a spark of hope that isn't ever replicated Yeah he did better than his rookie replacement...I'd hope that would be the case. Anyone saying it isn't really doing the guy a favor, considering in a arguably worse car Jenson still beat the FI of Perez and Hulk.

Also where do I pin the blames of McLaren on Sergio? Cause I didn't, I'm well aware of the issues of McLaren being down to technical issues that have been there for quite some time now, like that of Ferrari.

How do you come to that idea? And considering when Webber was there, they were claimed to be even higher in money spent a season to now, don't see them trying to be this grand money saver. Once again I doubt money has any play considering the development phases they spent on DR and Kvyat to make it to this final stage are far more in cost then picking up Alonso in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps (le gasp) they think these guys are worth their merit to be running in WCC winning cars but since they still have some room to prove it (like any company) are only going to get paid what a non-WDC should.

Redbull Have the most funded and Proven Driver program out of everyone.

Kyvat might be a little of a risk next year but Ricciardo has proven himself elite this year considering he vastly outscored the two Williams drivers who arguably had a better car.

Two interesting appearances at Abu Dhabi: first, Carlos Sainz Jnr. is driving the Red Bull RB10, despite Alex Lynn's stock going up in the past week. Meanwhile, Stoffel Vandoorne has been putting the awkwardly-named McLaren MP4-29H/1X1 through its paces.

If Ricciardo drives for Mercedes AMG Petronas he would be a world champion.

I Think Carlos is always going to be ahead of Lynn just because F3.5 is a higher Tier series, and the way he won the Championship was similar to Sainz.

Making Carlos Sainz Jr the favourite for the remaining 2015 seat alongside Max Verstappen.

Might aswell change the team name to "Vitello Rosso"

Top guy, and a tip of the hat to Vijay Mallya for letting him do both commitments. When was the last time a current Formula 1 driver entered into the Le Mans 24 hours? Must have been a while?
