That fanboy test sure worked. During the part where Shawn was messing up the Evo, Keiichi Tsuchiya was shown as one of the fisher men in blue...No one in the audience seems to react at all. At the end where you see Vin Diesel...people cheered. Oh man it was great and I can't wait to go back to school and ask people:

"I saw the REAL drift king in the movie and I know his name. Do you?" :sly:

I'll be back later tommorow to tell you guys how many people actually noticed. By the way, I am not veru sure if I saw someone else special too. During the scene where Hans drift circles around that R33, that R33 driver looks like Verena Mai (spelling) :odd: My feelings keep on telling me its her, because she sure is beautiful. :sly:

Sadly to say, I actually liked that movie, BUT not like ALOT though. I felt quite connected to that movie since it was all "asian" up in there. Hot asian womens was what I paid MOST attention to during the movie. Other than that, I like some of the j-pop soundtrack it have in the movie. I am thinking about buying the soundtrack very soon.

i didnt know who Keiichi Tsuchiya looked like in the first place

the cheer for diesal was pretty big where i was

did any one go to the cinema on saturday the 17th of june at 4:45pm at tea tree plaza in australia

There is only a few members here from Adelaide so I doubt it.

Good portion of the theater I was at cheered for Tsuchiya.

Of course, about half the theather also cheered at "86 Corolla".

The cast was at the showing I was at, by the way, I guess because it was the first public show in hollywood. During a quiet part of the movie, we heard "I like his haircut!", and didn't realise until after that it'd been Lucas Black himself, yelling at his character!

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it. I think there were maybe 30 people in the theatre so no reaction for Tsuchiya or Vin Diesel. I loved how Shaun poked fun at the old FnF line when he said "You know this ain't no 10 second race, right?"

Heh, some person wrote a letter to the newspaper denouncing the movie as it might "contribute to another wave of street racers"....as if Fast and the Furious is what causes people to street race.

We had the same here, someone wrote in saying movies like this should be banned as it make us "Street race".

As long as teenagers are given keys to cars, street racing will happen.

What the FnF movies have done is make everyone think that turning their car into a horrendously ugly, blinking, flashing, noisy eyesore is the cool thing to do.

Speaking of the FnF movies, I was watching "Grandma's Boy" the other day, and I noticed that one of the characters drives the 2F2F Supra.

Hey, I just saw F&F3, actually pretty good too. I was suprised that it was a decent evenings entertainment.
Kinda rubbish acting but some spectacular stunt driving.

The muscle car in the start of the movie (Monte Carlo?) sounded like it could have eaten that Viper whole.....

Yeah Monte Carlo, The only Tokyo drift car that was made to have serious power.

Two of the nine first-generation Monte Carlos built for The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift had big-blocks — this one with the 560-horsepower 509 aboard and the other with a 700-hp, 572-cubic-inch Bill Mitchell "Hardcore" crate engine

The 509 Monte ripped to 60 mph in only 4.4 seconds and devastated the quarter-mile in 12 seconds at 118.3 mph

Oh BTW
for story purposes, are disguised with "Hardcore 632" valve covers

just saw it last night too, big let down, by drift king....... but gotta say, some of the drift moves were alright, worst was seeing a EVO8 drifting like a FR machine, wasnt it a 4WD car? anyways, story line was weak as hell, acting could'ev been much better, but thumbs up for all the cars Involved!!!! Too bad didnt see the skyline R34 GTR whoop the RX7 ass, only 194KM/H the RX7 clocked!!!!

i watched it last saturday and i gotta say this movie was the worst movie ive ever seen. The story line was wack. And at the end when vin diesel showed up everyone went crazy at the place i was watching it at. I was laughing through the whole movie as to how bad it was:indiff:

I stand corrected. Didn't even bother reading about that evo :)

I have no idea if that's how they did it. But the few people in my car club who have gone rwd with their wrxs/legacies have locked their diff's, and I'm guessing this would be the easiest way to go about it.
Having said that, why would you want to do that to an evo? if you wanted a drifter, wouldn't it be much much easier to just buy a rwd car?

I heard that they chose an Evo because the Evo's are currently the most popular choice amongst young "enthusiasts" at the moment in the US.

Not to mention drifting has alot of unique people looking for something different.

I guess that's where my mindset differs from the majority of young "enthusiasts". If I wanted car to do a particular thing, I'd choose a car that does it well over a car that looks better/is more unique/whatever but can't do what I want it to unless I do a heck of a lot more work to it.
The functionality is much more important to me than what person X, Y or Z think of my car.

But each to their own I guess.

The stats say 8 Lancers were converted to RWD.

It also says 2 Golf V R32s were converted to RWD by Volkswagen...but I don't remember any Golf V R32s from the movie.

Comparing this to the Initial D live action movie, I'm actually leaning towards Initial D, less driving action, but less of attitude that came with FnF...

I wonder how well this movie sold so far...Anyone know how well or poorly it did ever since it came out?
Looks like it did about $24 million in the opening week. I think it's about average for movie like this.

What's interesting is the rottentomatoes.com's rating. While critics gave it only 36%, users rating currently is 82%! I've never seen those two ratings so far apart, personally. Here's the page: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/fast_and_the_furious_3_tokyo_drift/

Yeah, at least in the Initial D movie, you got to see some driving action without having to look at color-coded, vinyl-covered, flashing, sparkly, hey-look-at-me-everybody cars.

what do you guys reckon, does this movie really show the true faces of drifting, or just another movie for those wanna be?
Seriously though i thought this movie didnt really show any proper drifting, worst, seeing a mustang with RB26, C'mon they could'ev done better.
Whats funny was when i saw it was that when people saw a GTR, GO THE GTR!!!!!! and WE LOVE THE HACHI-ROKU!!!! lol, what about the RX7?
THIS MOVIE IS FOR THE RICER, GO WATCH VIDEO OPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats what i say
(too those who wanted to see keiichi doing his work, dont bother with this movie)

This movie is for wannabes, young audience who loves rice and doesn't have a proper taste for cars.
And those who think underground drifting is ''keeewl''.
An, NO, it doesn't show the true faces of drifting, but it shows the true faces of powersliding.

Yea, that last race wasn't even proper touge. As if you'd try to kill each other racing down a mountain. The only scenes worth watching are when Sean practices with Han, and the night scene with all the D1 cars.

And the chicks. Never forget the chicks.

Wow, my girlfriends dad came out and said something which shows what sort of mark TF&F:3 will make.

"I don't know about that damn drifting stuff, seems like a waste of tires to me."
