I love that expressions of control. Your photos are always very well balanced. The candy paint of the Ghia is specially interesting actually. Do not leave again Cod

i agree with alex. i'm locking you up so you cant leave again :D i love the ghia! it's so beautiful. it's got that soft, classic appeal to it with the colors you used. makes it look so lovely. and yes, everything like alex said is very well balanced. great work!!

 That picture is so nice C_F. Has a great classic feel to it, I am loving the colour, very soft tone too. Having the bling rims on really suits this shot.
Like the other two have said, don't leave again, your shots are so good I always enjoy your updates. 👍

Good to see some shots from U!! Both Audi shots are very good, love both tones.
This Karmann update looks also good:tup:
Try update more:cheers:

Thanks alex. I did try some new stuff with this shot as in adding new door lines and fixing the reflections a bit. I'm not into chaning everything and removing the imperfections of the original shot (too much anyway). I find some people are doing that here and it makes the shot look artificial. I like the down and dirty from GT4 and try to build on that as opposed to building something totally new;)

I just wonder what will happen here when GT5 comes out. I guess that people will have to become more artistic since from all appearances with the GTHD demo, there won't be a need to clean up an image to make it look more real. I figure that's when the true artists and photographers will come out;) I'd love to see what you could do with GT5 Alex:D

Thanks. I tried to keep the shot soft and bring the pastel colors out a bit more. I believe it worked with the shot. I can't promise I'll stick around. Apparently my gallery wasn't missed that much as some one said I was "gone for like a day" ;) or at least that's what I understood. I'll try to get back into enjoying a "photoshoot" in GT4 again but in the end who knows what rl may have in store for me:)

Thanks Drift. I tried the car with the VW hubcaps and couldn't get the proper look with them with the lighting at the track and the blingy rims do fit the chrome on the car:)

Thanks NTX. As I said above I'll try to get back to enjoying photomode in GT4 again but can't make any promises.

Wow, haven't checked your gallery for a while now, I love the Ghia update! It has a nice retro vibe to it.

Please say those are the standard Ghia wheels as opposed to the chunky chrome PD ones though...

No mog, they are the chunky PD wheels :(

Anywho, onto the next update. I'm not 100% happy with this one. It started out ok and then I couldn't get the door sills to clean up properly. Instead of getting frustrated and throwing it out I decided to just finish it there.

great update cod!! i wouldn't worry about what others said if i were you. it's just probably someone being conceded or something. you cant please everyone anyways. i did miss your updates to tell you the truth. your photos inspired me all the way thru since i first started here. anyways, hope you get back into the habit of photomode again :D that audi is looking great. i dont see what you dont like about it. the background, the lights are well done. that's all i can really say. hope to see more from you soon.

I think U should be happy mate, because this is a fantastic shot. The black and white tone is really great in the shot, gives a "gangsta" look or something!
U have really nice shots from the S4, so can U bring just one more? Keep up your good work, and I´m looking forward to see the next "stylish" update:)

Gosh has it been that long since I have been here? Better catch up before you post more amazing updates:
Hot and Cold: Very nice update not really to your usual standard but I am sure that it will be restored pretty soon (after all you have been away for about a month). The hot picture if I am honest I am not really too keen on. But the Cold on the other hand is, well pretty amazing, people always say I was cold hearted maybe thats why I prefer it.
Karmann Ghia: Nice update the car seems a bit silly with those big shiny wheels on though! Like the colours and all that lot.
Audi S4: What makes you think this one isn't very good? I think it is.................amazing. I love dark shots like that it gives a mood to the picture. Brill car as well 👍.
Glad you are back I was missing your mind blowing updates, now don't leave...ever again. Oh and if you have time check out my gallery.

The Karmann Ghia shot is great its clean and from that angle reminds me of a volvo p1800.

great update:tup:

Welcome back, Cod! :)

I just love the Karmann shot, the overall softness of the image without a single sharp edge in sight, the color scheme... everything.

Except for those rims. Don't really belong there, imo.

The Audi shot is also great, I'm really a big fan of moody b/w dark pics, and you nailed it with that one. The composition is beautiful, looks like a magazine ad.

Why do you think it's an 'inferior' shot?

Impressive. It doesn't matter if you use blurred, softed or ultradefined backgrounds... your shots looks always nicely balanced. The cleaning and lighting are awesome as always 👍

The Audi update looks spectacular! It doesn't matter that the car isn't cleaned perfectly or whatever because the composition and lighting effects work together in harmony to create a really epic looking shot of the car in action.

Cornering gracefuly at speed is something that is very difficult to capture without the photo looking too 'traditional' or boring but you've managed it with an interesting choice of camera location and background. The intense high and low lights really add a dramatic look to the shot too, and the soft focus really sets it all off nicely.

I love it! 👍

Thanks jgda:) It's not that I don't like the shot, it was just the jagged edge of the sill actually. When I took the original shot I thought to myself, "that's going to be a nice shot with some editing.";) You're right about not worrying about what others think. I should do what I like and enjoy my own style. I forget sometimes that there are a few people on the forum who enjoy my gallery:D

Thanks MTX. Do you want another S4 shot? I can see what I have in my rough cuts. I was thinking about using the RS6 in my next update. Or whatever the station wagon is anyway. I was watching the movie "Layer Cake" (excellent movie btw) and there is one in it and I figure an update influenced by the movie would be nice.

Thanks Speedster:) The Karmann Ghia shot is actually from a few months back and I just never got around to editing any of them:) I'm trying to stay away from the bling wheels now as I do believe they are being overused. I'll keep updating as much as I can.

Thanks beerz... mmmm.... beer...

...

where was I? Oh year, beer... no.... the ghia shot. Yeah;) I was aiming for soft and pastel-y with the shot and I believe I hit it:) I don't think the audi shot is inferior, just as I said up above, I was getting frustrated with the sill. I could have spent more time on it, but I believe the shot does stand by itself even with the sill.

Looks mean *gremlin laugh*

Nice job on the Ghia too. I like the whole idea of it, cool job.

Thanks samj:) Now I'm going to have to watch gremlins...I love that movie;)

Thanks alex. I honestly don't know much about balancing a shot. I just keep working on it until I believe it looks good. Sometimes I ask my wife what she thinks as she does have some photography experience, but that's about it:) I'm more like a chef making stew than a high class meal, it's just I guess my stew still tastes good:D

Thanks Mog:D As I said, I knew when I took the shot that it would look ok cleaned up. I almost stopped my photoshoot with that shot actually, but figured I would carry on for at least one lap around NY;)

Now on to the next update. These are two older shots I took and decided to mess around with in photoshop. The charger has no clean up done so the textures do look a bit rough, but overall I like the feel of the shot. The Spirra was an experiment in lighting. I did some clean up and softened it a bit. Possibly not up to what people expect from me, but what the hay;)

awesome photos cod! i somehow find that charger pic a bit scary for some reason, it feels like it's gonna go straight and run me over after. i love what you did with it. the spirra's looking great too, looks like some fancy ad you'd see in a magazine. well done!

ps: about your reply to my post, yes, that's the spirit. just do what you want, perhaps join a comp and teach them a lesson or two :D

Whoa, I am loving that S4 shot. So elegant, awesome colour and superb angle. One of the best shots at NY I have seen in a long time.

The Charger shot is sweet, very interesting tone. Has a nice sense of action to it, but gives off a sort of old feel.
Neat Spirra shot too, great colour. Really shows off the lines and shape of the car.

Don't worry what other people think of your work, if you like it. That is all that matters. I must say that I always love your work, your style is very refreshing and different. I love it, and can't wait for another update. 👍

Also, could you please comment on my gallery when you get a chance. No one has commented on my new update. :(

The car didn't really need the noise imo, makes the car a bit looking uncleaned. But, the blurs are excellent and the way you preserved the smoke rocks!

Previous update - Good shots, specially the Spirra.
New update - Looks very cool, even with the noise. Its a great action shot. U should enter with this shot in the Drift comp.👍
Looking forward to see more:)

Great updates, all.

Charger - POWERFUL shot. the overall tone of the shot, and the way you got the chromed parts looking is superb, even without the cleaning I find it just gorgeous to look at. Nice work on the background too, making the car stand out even more.

Spirra - Looks like something we would see in a dream - we can't reach it :) .
I like the way you made the entire car dark, and even the brighter parts are somewhat dark. In fact, the brighter parts are the rimes, mostly due to their color. The softness suits it well too.

Audi - You never cease to amaze me with how real you make some of your shots look. It's just beautiful! The subtle magenta tone on some parts really add to the overall feeling of the shot.
Only the smoke's color, like you said, is not up there with the rest of the image, but I'll let it slide this time...

Love the Charger pic.. Very Old Skool!👍
As the RS6 avant is one of my most favourite cars of all time, and you'd expect that i would love this update and i do but not for that reason i love the overall low jaggieness on the shot (apart from the front wheel) and the tyre smoke is great:tup: the blur on the road is great also!👍
