I usually like to watch dubbed anime. The subbed anime imo really takes your eyes off the action and onto reading the words. Another thing is that after watching a show that is dubbed for a few episodes, it is very hard to watch the subbed versions because you have gotten used to the characters voice.

The only dubbed show that i absolutely hate has to be naruto. The way they dub it is just absolutely horrible. I'll have to watch a subbed version sometime so i can decide whether its just the whole show that sucks, or just the dubbed version.

The only anime that i have ever watched completely subbed is Initial D 4th stage, and the movie.

Naruto is much better subbed, up till about episode 70 or so, then it starts doing fillers I think.. lots of fillers.

Finished Outlaw Star. Very good series indeed me thinks, trying to track down a translated version of the manga now...

So far I'm watching Lucky Star, and boy is so damn funny! It's definitely worth my wasted time.

:)
I had a chance to watch Lucky Star during Otakon 2007 recently, and I couldn't agree with you more.:D This would definitely be one anime to watch with fellow anime fans so that you can share the laughs.

Konota really loves playing video games. I don't know if she would be big into Gran Turismo as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was.;)

Also, I don't know if any of you here play Forza, but I saw an image on the internet a while ago that had someone do some racecar liveries of some of the Lucky Star charas. Have a look at the attached image and tell me what you think of it. Makes you wonder if GT5 should have a livery editor that could make you do things like this, huh?:D

^ I hope when they release it officially (hopefully by Geneon or ADV), they won't screw it up. :indiff:

^ On episode 14 or something, she was playing a Ridge Racer-like racing game at Kagami/Tsukasa's house. :)

^ I've seen that all over the web, I really do hope so with GT5. I'd like to put Chiyo-chan from Azumanga on my wagon. :D

Really? That has me wondering if her opponets were eating a lot of her dust.:D

💡Can you imagine the GT players who like anime having a golden oppurtunity to express their fandom with a anime-themed racecar livery on their favorite racers? Imagine if you will a Nissan Skyline GT-R34 with a Last Exile themed livery. That would me my first choice. ;) Choice #2 would be a Kiddy Grade livery for the Ford Falcon XR-8 with a image of Éclair and Lumiere on the front hood and the car number formed by Éclair's lipstick ribbon on both the hood and roof of the car.:)

If I come up with anymore anime-themed liveries, I'll post them here. ^_^

I keep forgetting about Ani-Mondays on Sci-Fi. :banghead: Though I am probably going to watch the next 30 minutes of it now, but I would have liked to turn it on a little earlier.

I think toonami/adult swim has teased it but I'm not sure that anyone is airing it. Although, it could have been Sci-Fi I saw with the tease and if that's the case I really couldn't even guess as to whether or not a Voltron airing is in the works.

As of now though, I don't think anyone is airing Voltron.

I vaguely remember Voltron, though not a whole lot. I watched it a little as a young, young lad. I would not mind seeing some of it now.

ANother anime I recommend is aa show called BECK. It is the perfect anime for the western world audience due to its heavy western influence (two aof the charaters are from New York),especially rock music.

The show is basically average boy with no talent, that gets into rock music. I can relate somewhat to the charater because as the series goes on he gets more involved, and uses it as more of an escape. Right now I'm getting more into Trying to learn how to DJand breakdance, and I use those (and two other things) as an escape.

Hey fellas:). Does someone maybe know Voltron? Saw that show when i was a kid. Is it still aired?
^ Hmm, it still unspeculated that its been re-aired, but the DVD was just released thou. :)

-> However, I did do recall the two Voltron series. Which version is it? The lion version (comes with two versions) and the multiple cars version. I've watched most of those episodes in no chronological order. In fact I used to own two versions of its robots back when I was a little tyke. :sly:

^ I've heard about that anime, and it was much raved. But it never caught my eye unfortunately.

:)

Yeah Ive heard it has good tunes. Anyway when it comes to Anime Im kind of late to the punch. Hell I just finished Wolf's Rain, and Im just waiting for the final episodes of Claymore, Darker than Black, and the nonfiller Bleach episodes that are final playing. And has anyone heard anything about the 2nd season of Gunslinger Girl. CANT WAIT!

I just finished up BECK. It's awsome! The only gripe I had was that they don't have a 2nd season. I would love to see this anime continued. Koyuki is an interesting charater and this series is the first one to actually have the main charater have multiple love interests and not be a harem show.

I finally finished the Manga series of Comic Party
First volume- Second= Alot of energy and some what randomness
3-4 = Drama Building up
5 = Great Ending.

OKAY OKAY. I know this show is only vaguely anime-ish but I must know are there any Avatar fans (AKA the best show on American television right now)? Please tell me Im not the only one. This is like one of the most fluid shows ive seen in along time and it has oodles of episodes. JUST CHECK IT OUT PLEEEZZZ!!

-> Did watch coupe of episodes, of Avatar. Its a bit shallow, and it tries too hard of being a real deal anime series, its still a cartoon in my opinion. :indiff:

To me that's what makes it good, that it tries to be like anime. Yeah, sometimes it does try to push humor on you (my gripe with the show) but its good none the less.

-> The problem with Avatar is, there is too much of overexaggeration in some scenes. And when it becomes to downtime, it gets too slow and not much of a good flow that I was looking for, in any animated series, whether it is cartoon or anime.

For our Canadian GTPlanet members who also like anime, I saw a story on the Anime News Network website that mentioned Spirited Away being aired on the CBC network last night and was substantially edited for time to fit in a 2 hour block. The full story on it can be seen by clicking here.

From what I read, some entire scenes were edited out completely including the last 3 minutes of the film.:ouch: For a full-length anime movie being aired for the first time on a over-the-air network in North America, I say this was a bad move on the CBC's part.:grumpy: And judging from some of the responses in the ANN forums after it aired, they think so too.

Avatar isn't the best show on American TV right now, its Highschool Musical according to some Teens.

I like Avatar.
As for whether it is "Anime" or not...
That's splitting hairs.
The show doesn't get deep into adult themes but other than that I'd say it kicks butt. The concepts driving the show are great and the actual art to show those concepts works rather well. I'm a fan but I don't consider it the best show on the tele. :sly:

Avatar is pretty good, and I like to keep up with it. Though the recent episode was a bit over the top with forced jokes and such. But I keep watchin it!

The show has extremely smooth animation, which is something not usually found in anime with large amounts of episodes. Shows like Bleach, etc are just too inconsistent with their fluidity and that always bugs me. For some reason I cant really watch shows that lack that.

On a different note does anyone know when the second season of Gunslinger Girl comes out? Now that was a well animated actioon show if Ive seen it.

Well, I found this on youtube....

It's called AmV hell 4 and it's a collection of audio clips w/ anime

If it violates GTP rules please tell me so I will just post the links.

Recently, the Anime News Network website posted a story about a group of people who have cars or motorcycles with anime-inspired designs and images meeting up at a track in Chiba prefecture. The details can be seen by clicking here.
