The General Anime Thread...

Well now, it's probably best not to read up in this thread until you've caught up on popular shows. I've had to stop doing that in another thread every Thursday until I've caught up on KLK and Golden Time.

For future reference, you guys should probably keep any spoilers within spoiler tags (once we get 'em).. or in this case, don't IMG tag the picture.

It doesn't matter if I posted or not how far behind I am. Don't post blatant spoilers out in the open.

I wouldn't call that example blatant. Hell, those allusions were being used in KlK images ever since last year, and I doubt I would have taken it seriously if I just stumbled upon it without seeing any of the latest episodes.

That said, I assumed anyone who followed KlK here as much as the next guy had already reached episode 20 by now, at the very least. Evidently not.

I'm with Sly in here. This is a general anime thread, and as such there is general anime discussion that can or can't include Kill la Kill (in this case). By what you're saying, if Sly (or whoever) doesn't want to be spoiled, he can't come in here and miss all the other non-KLK talk? I don't think so.

Your example with the Walking Dead thread is moot because that is a specific thread for a show. This one isn't.

The show is very much relevant to this thread. Moreso than any other given how much discussion it's been getting in recent weeks.

Whether or not there's any specificity relating to the show and the thread makes zero difference. I would avoid TGAT (and already do so with anime threads on other forums for the reasons I've mentioned) just as much as a thread made for any specific series I follow. I'm sure it can't be too hard for anyone else to do the same if they really didn't want anything spoilt.

For future reference, you guys should probably keep any spoilers within spoiler tags (once we get 'em).. or in this case, don't IMG tag the picture.

If it'll keep everyone happy, then it's probably for the best. 👍

I didn't even realise that image was Kill La Kill related until people started complaining, and I'm up to episode 21.

I WAS keeping up with KLK from the start, but I've gotten behind because of life-things, so I'm at EP. 18 at the moment. I'm determined to finish it (or whats been released anyway) and Psycho-Pass within the month. Robotics;Notes will come after that, and I dunno where I'll go from there.

It's happened plenty of times before, yet I don't see complaints until now (The last time was like Gurren Lagann). Like say how about that NGE comic most recently? "We order them in bulk." Spoils the fact that Rei is cloned.

I could post freaking spoilers for Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece, and nobody would complain.

Because nobody would care, you fool. But KLK is TEH SHOW now and everyone's watching it. Then you come in and spoil something that big... yeah, you're gonna have it by tthe other members. I'm yet again with Sly. I can't believe someone is arguing about this. Out of pure respect, do not post spoilers like they're nothing.

I'm just saying, people have posted spoilers for other shows here in the past, yet nobody really cared, and many of those shows were something plenty of people were watching, or hadn't watched yet. So there's a little hypocrisy here.

Also, may I remind you on ARM Sly spoiled the Haruhi movie (Who made Haruhi disappear) for me during our Haruhi argument? It even led to Loliblade stepping in about it.

And for the record, I'm someone who doesn't really like getting spoiled either (Except on certain series for some strange reason), and I have to constantly deal with trying to avoid them on Twitter where stupid changes such as auto-displaying pics that you CANNOT turn off (It auto-displays anything uploaded directly to Twitter-which is why I upload my stuff almost always to Imgur now so others won't get affected) can lead to someone getting spoiled easily. Plenty, plenty of people I follow livetweet the stuff they watch, so if I'm behind, the risk of me being spoiled can be quite high.

It's a miracle I haven't had Madoka Rebellion spoiled for me yet.

For the record, I didn't outright spoil anything. At that point the movie had been out for at least a year and you kept complaining how useless Endless Eight was, and I offered a counter argument.

What you had done was speculate that a certain character did something. I didn't confirm nor deny the conclusion you had drawn yourself to. Just because you ended up speculating something doesn't mean that I spoiled it for you.

And why do you always bring s*** like that up? Build a bridge and get over it.

Uh, you went, (Here's the EXACT quote-with me cutting out the character's name so nobody else here gets spoiled) "Disappearance is very enjoyable because the whole novel itself is a great story. Of course watching some of Endless Eight gives you heavy hints at [Insert character here], which all comes together at the end of Disappearance so that if you were to watch Disappearance without Endless Eight, you wouldn't be asking [Insert character here]."

So yeah, you did end up posting a spoiler out in the open (Albeit not as blatant as that KlK spoiler that was posted here earlier by I'm too lazy to look) and Loliblade acted on that. Your post got edited with part of it getting a spoiler tag.

You're getting annoyed at spoilers, I'm bringing up an example of how you yourself got someone else annoyed.

There's been hypocrisy on spoilers here. Seriously, why are we only now getting annoyed when this crap has happened plenty of times in this thread and on ARM in the past? Why is it if I posted blatant Naruto spoilers, nobody would care, even when there's the possibility of a brand new Naruto fan coming in this thread? Or how about if I posted Steins;Gate spoilers, nobody would really care?

Why does it have to only be for what's new we have to mark spoilers? Also remember, Loli got spoiled on Gurren Lagann in this thread. Even now you can post blatant spoilers about that show, and it seems nobody would really care, yet in the past someone actually did get spoiled.

Spoilers are bad, but seriously, this is not a new issue here. Not everyone has been respectful about it including me.

But I see you agree that I didn't post a blatant spoiler, thank you for agreeing that I didn't post a blatant spoiler out in the open.

And what you quoted me as saying is not a post from this board, and is from almost 2 years ago. I wasted my time searching on here for that and turns out it's not even from this board! I also like you conveniently misplaced my spoiler tag at the end.

And it's on page 89 out of 180 pages! Do you have my posts bookmarked or something?? Jesus Christ, man! Get over it, seriously!

While not blatant, you still posted a spoiler that spoiled part of the movie for me, that's the thing. Anyone that had seen season 2 and knows what that one character is would know what you mean. The spoiler tag (Which was put in by Loli-notice the edit by thing?) is missing as I don't know how you can hide spoilers on this new layout, so I made that "[Insert character here]" edit.

Also I see you forgot that before this argument began, I mentioned that incident happened on ARM. Next time read more carefully?

Anyway, as for how I found it, I remembered I had linked Loli to the post so he could look at it, so I had to look at my PM's on ARM. Any other arguments we've had (I can't even remember them all) I probably would have to do a lot of digging to find.

I've long been over that incident, you're still missing the point of why I brought it out, and why I also brought out another incident I remembered of how someone in this group got spoiled.

This is ridiculous.

We've ALL done it. I'm just trying to remind people not to post spoilers in the open. My god, why does it have to be so difficult????

Is that how people have been posting spoilers now that we still don't have our valuable spoiler tags back? Wouldn't it still be slightly visible?

Thanks for pointing that out, but we still haven't addressed something, why are people only reacting on new stuff (And also now, this is the first time I've seen reactions to spoilers quite a while)? Cano was like "Nobody would care", yet there's still the possibility of someone being spoiled, and it actually has happened before.

If someone posted like say Martian Successor Nadesico spoilers, I would get annoyed as I'm still watching that (And yes that's the first time I've mentioned I'm watching it, so that person wouldn't have known beforehand), yet nobody else would call the person out on it it seems.

No not really. Unless you quote the post of course.

Practically invisible right?

Yeah, I still can't read that. Unless you find yourself looking at the screen at strange angles. Besides, if you would have quoted it, it would be reasonable to remove the spoiler stuff just to be on the safe side.

Edit: Oh wait, I can see it on the mobile site...

No, but I did hear the movie is awful and ruins the ending of the TV series. I'm still going to watch the movie, but I'm going to have very low expectations.

The plot of the movie can basically be summed up as a time skip to several years in the future occurring where we find that at some point the earth and the Jovians came to peace (this is never explained), the captain and her boyfriend are both apparently dead, and that Ruri is now the new captain of the Nadesico, joined by a bunch of random people who aren't the shows original cast. Then a war breaks out for some reason and Ruri goes around finding all of the original crew in order to try and stop the war. I think she molested a child on the way as well...

Yeah.

The film is terrible. Needs more Gekiganger III.

Did someone say database?

(I'm by no means a fan of this show-and completely fail to see how people like it so much-but the opening is pretty damn good.)
