Most of my favorite anime are on the list, though, so there must be some imdb users who share my preferences. Nice in particular to see Mushi-shi, Samurai Champloo, Welcome to the NHK, and Rurouni Kenshin rate pretty high.

WAT :crazy:. Really? I couldn't stand Kenshin, the series was lame as heck and incredibly long for what it was. I watched the OVAs first, which were full of enormous, unadulterated win, and then tried to see the series. They made Kenshin into a stupid brat and all the supporting characters were just as annoying, specially the girl and the little kid, they were unsurmountable. There was some fail attemps at politics and, aside from some important fights, all of them were pretty lame too, and the music was horrible. I couldn't keep on it after a couple episodes simply because I couldn't stand Kenshin being SO STUPID. He was worse than Goku. I hate Kenshin with a passion, specially after the really cool background the OVAS stablished for it was thrown out of the window.

Samurai Champloo, though, is excelent.

Ugh, yeah... I don't know what I was thinking with that one. Brain completely failed me there :sick: I think I saw the colours of the hair and stuff, and somehow just assumed that's what it was - My bad!

:lol: I watched the series first, yes incredibly long. What I liked about it was the relationships between characters. Seemed sincere, well developed, and frequently touching. The antics were usually cartoonish, and overall it's not a very serious series, but I had a lot of fun with it. When I later watched the OVA Trust and Betrayal I thought, wow, this is totally different in style and tone, also great, but different. I can easily see how being familiar with the OVAs first would make the series seem like heresy and total crap. But it's not just me and a bunch of imdb users who really enjoyed Rurouni Kenshin, it also ranks in the top 4% of anime on Anime News Network (#137 out of 3682), so evidently even a lot of serious anime freaks liked it (though out of the 4977 votes, 13 were for worst ever, 7 awful, 15 bad, 39 weak, and 50 not really good, so if your vote would fall into one of these categories, you wouldn't be alone either... you'd just be in the minority.)

Jai, have you seen Capeta yet? It may come off as a bit juvenile since it follows first 10 yr olds karting and then 14-15 yr olds racing mini-F1 cars, but it's got some great racing moments, and racing is the focus.

The Future GPX Cyber Formula animes also feature racing and are supposed to be pretty good but I can't say personally as I've yet to watch them.

Immortal Grand Prix is another one but it's supposed to be not so great...

(Also today was a great day, spent £160 playing the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 game in the arcade) :D
 
Arcades here are all Redemption Prizes, Shooting and Cheesy Sega Racers. The coolest racing game I've seen was probably Initial D, and NFS Carbon.

We don't get Initial D over here in the UK. But I heard it's rather unrealistic on the handling and gameplay in general.
 
I don't think you can even drift in that game... I saw it and was filled with joy to try it out. As soon as I reached the first corner, I turned hard, and there was no oversteer whatsoever. I was trying so hard to get the rear end to kick up that I was basically jumping back and forth in my seat from violent steering.:lol:

Yeah, but I'm glad I watched the OVAs first. If I had watched the series I wouldn't have stood Kenshin either and would have been so fed up with him and his stupid noise that I wouldn't have watched the OVA, and that one kicked ass.

Watch the three Gunsmith Cats OVAs, then read the manga. Best cars manga out there, and it isn't even about cars.

Finally back from the con. Had a great time once again and we had a blast doing Tetris lol.


Also scored from the Dealer's Room. Picked up a few Asukas, got an EVA Unit 01, a sweet Vash, and a Kuroko. And someone bought me an Asuka, a keychain, and a button lol.



Can't wait until next year!






I have all of those GPX Cyber Formula series but I don't know what it's about. Worth watching?

It very much is, but it doesnt evolve around the cars. They are, however, a BIG part of the story. And they are cars you don't normally see in manga.

Heck, everyone drives muscle cars. Rally drives a Shelby GT500, Bean drives whatever he is in the mood for driving that day from a Boss 302 to a Cuda, villains drive everything from F40s to hopped up 55 Chevy panels with blowers sticking out of the hood, and you can follow along the coolest street race ever involving a blown Boss 302, a Cobra and a Viper, with several AR-15s thrown in for good measure.

Slightly inappropriate, but I once walked in on Klingons dancing in the bar in the basement of the convention center, with strippers. Yes, boobies and Klingons, unforgettable. Also once nearly went blind when an old hairy dude dressed as Sailor Moon (with way too much skin showing) passed me in a hallway...
 
T-REX you should definitely try to find a con, even just a small local one. This is my 7th one now and we still have a blast.

That's hilarious. The only disgusting thing I saw was a man-Misty on Thursday while going to pre-con. He was big, hairy, and ewwww!!!!!

Damnit!🤬.Parents never have enough money our mom is too parental -_- and i dont think ill be going to one till im around 14 or something...Facepalm!I wanna go to one damn if my parents weren't that parental they would let me go to one and sleep over.The only con i've ever been to was the renaissance fair and that was fun and all but i only got to be with my parents not any friends to hang out with and joke around and get in trouble.
