Don't get me wrong, Madoka was entertaining. I just wouldn't consider it mandatory viewing, since it really wasn't particularly excellent or original.

And Clannad is mediocre/decent. Definitely not mandatory viewing. :p

I wouldn't say original, I would say Madoka is more like... groundbreaking. Madoka is to Magical Girl like Evangelion is to Mecha.

But it is original in the sense that it isn't based off of anything or adapted from anything. The staff consisted of those of large talent, and the series surely didn't disappoint.
 
It has absolutely nothing to do with post count. Notice some other people haven't made it in and have 3 times as many posts as you? :p

And yes, that is the perfect word I've been looking for to describe Madoka...
