Actually, I didn't see that, but it seems my impression must have been right.
I just wish that all the episodes to come could follow in this episode's footsteps.
My chief concern is that the series might end up not doing that just because I know how philosophical the Ghost in the Shell story can be.
This week's saturday anime also created a great deal of excitement for me because of FMA.
With so many people saying that the series has a darkside to it I have a feeling that at some point there is going to be an actual trip down to hell itself.
Just a guess since I know nothing about the series (btw, it's taking everything I've got to avoid doing an internet search for spoilers lol).
Still though, the series has so much potential that if they did anything to ruin it I would be suprised.
As mentioned before, the facial expressions and the humor are both great (often running hand in hand).
Then there is the action of the show which at this point is minimal, but something about that badass suit of armor says to me... Butt-Kicker!
The most important thing about the series to me is the story.
See, I lost my father at the age of 6, and that means my little bro lost him at the age of 4.
With that being the situation, most of our lives have been very close and on several occassions we have had other sets of brothers remark in awe that my brother and I were very close, closer than any of the other brothers could have ever imagined being with thier own.
So under those circumstances you can probably see why the movie Akira was so touching to me... And for that same reason you can certainly see why FMA strikes a deep emotional chord with me.
I hope that Al and Ed can be happy in the end.
Sadly, I don't think that will happen.

There is something nagging me about the story and it says that one of those two is going to suffer a horrible fate so the other can live a happy life.
Mixed emotions for sure, but that is what makes stories like this amazing.
You know, it's times like this that I get so pissed about the cliches associated with anime in America... For once I just wish the public would recognize just how mature the stories can be.
Then again, the anime boom is still only getting started.

Maybe with a few more hundred airings of Cowboy Bebop and a healthy dose of graphic violence the people will see what all of us love (hopefully we will be able to avoid bringing too much hentai while we are at it :naughty:

).
Any way,
I'm glad to see the anime thread has a little life in it again...
It's sorta my baby in some senses lol... I still can't believe that there were no major anime threads before I posted this one. Hell! I even did a search before posting lol.
But on that note, I am proud that I got to create this thread.

lol.
At the same time though, I am thankfull for all the support and participation you guys show... And so... Thank you.
Till next time,
-Kent
