Not for me, Venture Bros. IS the utter crap, I have to wait till 11:30 (to skip that crap) just to watch [AW] after Toonami. At least during that time I'll play my old school GT2. :p

Specifically "now and then, here and there"

I've seen clips of it, but nothing that would tell me whether or not to take the time to watch it.

So what say you all?
Should I fork up the dough for a rental?

Also, could you give me a run down?
I just don't feel like doing an internet search right now... plus those reviews are always riddled with personal bias from people I don't know.

a very depressing anime, more like mad max and laputa combined. the story progresses in drama mode, a very touching drama mode. there certainly is a degree of longing atmosphere. there really is nothing else like it, but nothing much to it. cant really explain the plot without giving away the great parts.

rental.

but for the tuesday recomedation..... PHOTON! what a classic.. sir papa cha.

today on subtitling..
the script translators in hong kong have really caught the attention of the national endowment for the arts, they have become accomplices for speech impediments!

another moment of rare candor.

the circle is now complete. silence all the rumors of poor subtitling, this tops them all! :dunce:

the venture bros. are effing halarious....and the oblongs DO suck. its like so damn stupid.

AS should REALLY pick up GTO. that would be great. i already emailed bumpmaster and swimbuddha about it. lol.

the cell cover is still sitting at my desk, there arent many gundam fans here to patronize anime paraphenalia. I used one of them on the new vodafone (the char/shiki gundam AEUG print), it really looks best on white solid surfaces. Id take a picture of it but the camera is part of the phone. (thats like lighting striking itself) Oo.

speaking of pictures, i redesigned the wingzero custom 1/100 scale in high gloss nightmare black! what an uncoventional but so expected contrast. the wings have a evil aura to them when the white is replaced by black. oh yeah, the lines were done in blood red.
On the same note. bandai just released a second edition of the wing zero with modular wings. the model has been revamped with higher quality features and again the wings expand and fold in and out around and about. its only available in 1/100 scale.

I sure would like to see how that Gundam turned out. Could you take some pictures of it? And what does the other thing you were talking about look like?

Anime Movies gone Real Life!

My friend tells me that they're in the making of an actual, real life, Initial D movie. Anyone know anything about that? And anyone have an opinions on whether they should take Anime movies and make them actual live ones?

Supposedly people are going to make a live action Neon Genesis Evangelion too. Though I do not know if there is any real truth to it or not.

That is pretty cool dude! Though I would like to see some blue still in the Gundam; but whatever, still pretty cool! 👍 How long did it take you do that?

OT:
-> Dang, guys!!! Where have you guys been??!! The "anime girl" and this one has been gathering cobwebs, I know NK4E always hangs out at Gaia while me at Drag Racing Pinoy Forums. At least I come here once in a while, especially on the "anime girl" thread.

That is one bad ass Wing Zero you got there, kirkis9! I never seen the Custom model done in black and red. 👍

Are those Gundam screen shots with the bad subtitling from Zeta Gundam? I don't recognize them, Zeta is the only series I haven't seen from the UC timeline.

your 100% correct in the zeta gundam assumption. its one of the more dark and serious gundam series out there. there is yet to be an english version (or no? correct me if im wrong). The game was nothing original but a superb side dish to the series.

kitbashing: like the tainted wing zero here, kitbashing is rarely done anymore. like when you put your t54 tank guns on your AH1 helo kits with starwars ATAT legs. yeah, it was freaking cool. The mechanicaly creative minded naturaly sink down to this kickass art form. so gundam kitbashing is the next step here, seeing how the franchise has become so recognized :D it would be a little difficult to do, figuring the concept that is. just about every possible weapon/wing/platform combination has been done to the available pallete of mecha architecture. so i propose the next project will cross the gundam universe AND ..... pirates/vintage aircraft/other cultures (like a somolian gundam, or danish?)/the possiblities are endless!

Yeah, there are English versions for both Zeta and F91 coming out in November, but none have been shown on TV. I love the more mature Gundam series, unlike Gundam Seed, which has been the only Gundam shown in America for the past two years. :irked:

That kitbashing sounds interesting. I wished I had the time and the patience to start building kits again.

Man, I feel you Vanishing. It seems I have all but stop posting lately on GTP. I just do not have the time to look through a lot of different threads and posts. College has gotten me swamped and then some. If it was not for the weekend, all I would ever be doing any more is homework or sitting in class. Though I do try to take the time every so often and take a look into this thread.

On a side note though, any one here ever seen an Aston Martin in person? I was wondering, since it just so happens that I saw one today, a DB7 Vantage Volante to be exact. It was sitting parked at the University. So being the car guy that I am, I had to stand and stare at it for a while (possibly with my jaw on the ground). They sure are such nice and beautiful cars. I am most definitely jealous of the owner.

I feel you too, I don't have a PC, the only way I can go to either GTP or DRP is using a PC from my friends or in work. ):

That sucks man! I have the ability to access GTP just about any time I want, but there just is never time to do so because of other things needing to be done. Right now, I am here just so that I can take a break from stupid chemistry crap.

one heard of Paranoia Agent? I won this preview DVD for it . it looks awesome. But It is the only anime I have. Could anyone suggest some good anime?

hmmm neon genesis, trigun, INitial D, hellsing, ex driver, Kanon, Voices from a Distance star( i wish he has made more TT_TT ) love hina...the list can go on forever

Rurouni Kenshin is a definite must check out.

You might try Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex. It is only recently starting to be released and the first volume is pretty good stuff. I have the second volume of the series, but have yet to watch it.

is it just me, or do the new japanese subtitles REALLY SUCK. the ones with the yellow letters. they were on stand alone complex 2nd gig and initial d fourth stage.

i barely understand them. they dont even start new lines when a different character is speaking. its like a giant run on sentence throughout the whole movie.

i've seen stand alone complex and the first and second volumes of SAC 2nd gig as well. they are totally awesome, but those subs really suck.

I have not even noticed subtitles lately. I did not watch Stand Alone Complex in Japanese, so well there goes that one out the window.

"gundam seed destiny" was a definte improvement to its predecesor( any change to SEED would be an improvement) .....and the honorable addition of the blue frame astray? :noted. wasnt there a "MSV" series out there too? hmmm
