I downloaded the FMA movie from limewire. It was good, but the ending makes me wonder if maybe another series will appear.
Note: don't talk about Limewire because of certain reasons, I know where we get our anime...but just don't about it much
and I hope not, because I can't stand the fanboys at my school...

i just got finnished watching naruto episode 177 :P

^ note the pilot callsigns

episode 177 was a bit of a tangent :p entertaining nonetheless but basicly the main plot hasnt moved forward much except for the fact that the characters are getting stronger.
I dont really see it as "filler" but more of the show trying to build up character depth.

episode 178 just came out so i'm downloading that now :D

I think in the 140's the anime stopped following the manga storyline and went in a unscripted direction. Where the books continue is a elongated flashback to kakashi's past, most importantly we get to see HOW he aquires the sharingan. (EEP! no spoilers please!) I guess im waiting for the anime to pick up at that point.

Sunday 4am, another boring episode of GITS:SAC ends, but something was in the air...literally.

did anyone else notice indiscriminate farting noises? jesus, how could you NOT notice. Like every audible pause there were flatulence released, in different tones, lengths, and variable degrees of wetness.

edit: a visit to http://boards.adultswim.comconfirms the methane. *phew*, not just me. But how long has the farting gone on? To be honest, the implemented fart jokes by CN are enough to maintain ratings for GITS 👍

I actually didn't catch any of tonight's Adult Swim. I was watching the F1 race for most of the night and after that I've been watching a little of everything else while doing some Calculus homework.

So I just finished watching Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind on Cartoon Network. It was the first Hayao Miyazaki piece I have seen and I have to say I was very impressed. It was a very good movie. 👍 Now I see why Miyazaki gets so much praise. 👍

Actually scratch that about being the first Hayao Miyazaki piece. I had seen another of his movies, with it being Porco Rosso. At the time when I was watching Porco Rosso though, I did not know it was from Miyazaki. So Nausicaa was the first Miyazaki movie I've seen that I actually knew was a Miyazaki movie.

that was tonight? rats. its a damn good flick, one of the best in the lot!

has anyone seen the Miyazaki "on your mark" music video? a must watch! its a short story with the familiar warmth of his other stuff. I dont know the song he picked, but its to the tune of the korean love song "in my dreams".

Can't say I've seen the music video, as I've only seen Nausicaa and Porco Rosso. And really, I've not even seen all of Porco Rosso. I just happened to happen on it when it was shown on TCM. I missed some of the movie, though I have no idea how much.

Nausicaa was really good. I'm glad I took the time to watch it tonight. Well worth the two and a half hours it was on for.

I've seen that music video... It's like a whole movie compacted into a couple minutes... Definitely a must see~.. But that song was in Japanese? I'm guessing some korean song ripped it off? I've lived there... They rip U.S and japanese songs now and then... Not uncommon...

Had to check.. the J-pop group was 'Chage & Aska'

I enjoyed that movie as well.
However, I think it was on one of the "film channels" a month or so back when they did a miyazaki month and eventually one of the guys hosting the show mentioned miyazaki's love for young girls in the lead role.

Kinda creeps me out.

However, that aside...
"...valley of the wind" "spirited away" and "princess mononoke" are all awesome. (in my opinion that is a reverse order of awesome-ness as well... starting from least and going to most) :sly:

I'm pretty sure it was TCM that had a Miyazaki month as well. You may want to read up on the young girl leading role in his movies. Its not what you are thinking, as least I did not get that iimpression from Wikipedia information on Miyazaki.

Not only eerie, femine power roles is the cornerstone of his films!
What about porco rosso? but then again, who built porco's plane?

Investigate furhter? :scared:

Christine Hoff Kraemer writes:
Though Miyazaki comes out of a culture that may in fact be historically far more oppressive of women than America's, his females are allowed to assume and retain positions of power....

....Nausicaä, Mononoke, and Pocahantas all have strong environmental themes; all four films feature an armed conflict between opposing groups, and place the heroine in a unique position to influence that conflict.

excerpt from: Disney, Miyazaki, and Feminism:Why Western girls need Japanese animation

^ dont let this lengthy bit sour his film(s). they still kick ass. 👍

Speaking of Miyazaki... Anybody seen Whisper of the Heart? Pretty old... Mild high school story but I liked it a lot... This is a female lead movie as well...💡

Did anyone watch Eureka Seven tonight? The first showing, I missed the first five minutes of the episode and I think the second showing, I missed the first minute or two.

:) I cant believe I didnt notice this thread earlier...Ive been here for two months now, and just today...today...I noticed. I must be blind, since anime is like the second or third biggest interest after cars and computers!

Well welcome to this particular thread! Its a good one when we get some posting going. Definitely keep posting in the anime thread! 👍

So what does everyone think of Adult Swim adding Saved by the Bell to the lineup? I just read on AS.com that it is on a two week trial run. I don't think I really care for it being in the lineup, as I watched the show long ago when I was just a young lad. Why can't AS show Rurouni Kenshin instead of Saved by the Bell? RK would be much more appreciated. 👎 to Saved by the Bell and not showing RK instead.

i'm watching naruto ep 181 :p i like saved by the bell :p i caught an episode yesterday at midnight. it gets me all nostalgic
