Afraid not. I don't read manga/light novels to know about any series beforehand.

There's a TV adaptation of Fate Unlimited Blade Works if that interests you. Also, try Garden of Sinners if you haven't.

Cant say im super stoked about the fall season by what i see so far :indiff: except Psycho Pass 2
Having to see Psycho Pass on crappy streams sucks but on that note, said 1st season is on Netflix :)

You're killing me here GSC...

I discovered a live action adaptation of Battleship Yamato last night. Special effects were excellent, but I couldn't get subtitles on the Youtube video. I imagine it's probably hammier than a one man show by Shatner.

@AOS- Have you ever heard of Parasyte before? I'm surprised they didn't make an anime of it before.

Also, I don't like Psycho Pass. In fact, I don't like anything from Urobuchi excluding Madoka Magica and Fate.

The upcoming Fate/ kaleid OVA will be about Chloe and Ilya's first bras >.>
What he's been involved in I've liked...
-Fate/Zero
-Madoka Magica
-Psycho-Pass (And no I don't love it, the problematic mediocre story brings things down, the character development saves it)
-Gargantia (Only a bit, and definitely not enough to ever rewatch it or own it)
-Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom

I can't buy into Urobuchi hype as what he works on these days doesn't turn out as amazing as the hype wants you to think (Because again, ZOMG MADOKA THE PERFECT MASTERPIECE AND FATE/ZERO GUY!!!1!1!1!1!!). And now, I question if he can work on anything new that's good anymore. Gargantia and Aldnoah.Zero made me question things. The next thing he works on soon (Because Madoka made him a household name and people REALLY want to work with him) probably will end up not being so good either.

Same could be said about Watanabe and Space Dandy. Maybe episodic shows don't have a place in current anime anymore. Or maybe I'm constantly expecting new shows to have some brilliant theme and character development.

He isn't actually THAT involved on Space*Dandy truth be told.
You've probably got an eye on Space Dandy, right? It's been heralded as a sort of return to form for part of the old Cowboy Bebop band, and in a lot of ways, it delivers—it's weird, colorful, funny, and an absolute goddamn animator's playground. Director Watanabe has actually taken a novel approach this time around—unlike in his earlier shows, he plays the role of sou kantoku, or general director, forSpace Dandy. The director is actuallyShingo Natsume; he's the guy who has to keep the project humming along on schedule, and much of his artistic duties involve not editing the story or drawing or correcting animation frames but watching and correcting the storyboards, in order to catch artistic and continuity issues before they can even bubble to the surface. Watanabe did that dance for Cowboy Bebop and Kids on the Slope, but for Dandy he makes broad creative decisions (he's pitched in some scripts, as well) and lets the team run wild. Some have wryly speculated that his biggest duty in Space Dandy is hanging out and preparing his next project as much as possible!

But Watanabe's taken a novel and really awesome approach to putting this series together. Every episode has new key creative staff—each one boasts a different director, some pretty famous (Michiko & Hatchin'sSayo Yamamoto, Steins;Gate'sHiroshi Hamasaki) and some more renowned for strict technical skills (So Toyama,Michio Mihara). In that way, despite the fact that Watanabe's steering the ship, every episode's a little different.

Space*Dandy has had A LOT of different people working on it, IIRC even some animated by only one single person which is very impressive when you consider how anime is made.

Still though I can't get that excited on what he works on either these days. Kids on the Slope was very good, but pretty forgettable. Space*Dandy was mostly good, season 2 is failing me (Still nice visuals), and Terror in Resonance is enjoyable (When it ever is......) mainly from what one anime reviewer I follow calls "rule of cool", but overall remains a mediocre show that failed to do things you're supposed to do early on, such as making the audience give a crap about the characters.

If I'm almost completely done with the show and I STILL can't give a crap about the characters, there is REALLY something wrong. Even in the dozens of bad anime I've seen to completion I've managed to give some crap about the characters. It just feels empty much of the time.

Terra Formars
Scientists send cockroaches and mold to terraform Mars.
First ship to lands on Mars, every cockroach is now massive and destroy the fleet.
Elite soldiers go to Mars to kill them.

And here I am thinking: Just don't go to Mars from now on!
If nothing else, I'll give it a whirl. Monster roaches. Sure!

Monster Attack B-film anyone?
Pardon my Le Mans-based French(accent), but...

Zee HFIL iz zees, an anime offshoot of Starship Troopers?

It'll be an improvement over Winter at least, that's for sure. That season was just absolutely horrible, one of the worst ones I've seen in the years I've watched anime as they air.

Also hoping there aren't many rushed adaptations this season. I'm getting increasingly frustrated with adaptations that just LOVE to cram EVERYTHING published into just one or two cours. Yes, 100 chapters in one cour is perfectly acceptable and makes things better...

Two victims of cramming too much of the source material into such a small space from this season for example are Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo ESP.

@TheCorvette Cour? Winter? That ain't Falco!!!

Seriously though, I don't understand what you're saying. Can you explain?
Cour=What is used to describe how many 12-13 episode chunks an anime will be, as opposed to using the word season. Ex: Sword Art Online II is a two cour anime. Free! Eternal Summer is a one cour anime.

The word "cour" has even been used in plenty of anime.

Winter=Winter anime season, in this case Winter 2014.

About half of this thread seems to be Touhou these days. Touhou isn't even an anime. I'm confused.

I'm just doing this to piss him off, considering he doesn't like Cirno. And you're right, it isn't, but it hasn't stopped people from drawing the characters like they are part of it.

I've been on a streak of romance/comedy/slice of life shows and it's getting tiring. Help! I need something dark to watch!
