My only beef with SAO is the spot light it stole from .hack.
That was properly awesome. What the hell is that, Nk?
I think it is a fan project. I will read the full kotaku article in a bit.

It's part of Khara's animation expo thing, and is directed by some guy who directed Appleseed or something.

Oh oh oh, if you want a romantic comedy, look no further than Chuunibyou demo Koi ga ****ai!. There's a reason one of the chicks in it features in my avatar. ;)

Grisaia no Kajitsu, I'm not sure what that would fall into, I still recommend it though.
Up until S2 that is. The reaction people had towards S2 is one of the worst S1------>S2 reactions I've ever seen.

I didn't really have much of a problem with it. The only thing that disappointed me was the movie.

I think it was fine. I don't know what other people think though. And new girl was rather pointless, looking back on it.

Movie? I need it. I didn't even know there was a movie. What's it called?

There was a recap movie, that should tell you everything.

Yeah I ended up figuring out it was the recap later on. Not interested.

I finally dropped Tokyo Ravens. I couldn't stand it, it was like SAO but it didn't have A-1 behind it.

Finally stopped putting it off and watched the Toaru Majutsu no Index movie, Toaru Majutsu no Index: Endymion no Kiseki. I thoroughly enjoyed it, though I did find that there were more explosions than a Michael Bay film. Loved the OST from it too, I'll have to throw some in here for all you to enjoy at some point.

I'd recommend watching the series in general actually. Towards the start I was very nearly considering dropping it, but I had been told good things about it so I decided to keep watching, as it had been said to me that it was one of those animes that are a bit slow until anything interesting happens. I'm glad I did, the quality rose up considerably and made it much more enjoyable to watch. Onwards to the second season. :D

Started A Certain Magical Index II tonight. I'm not sure if I'm just in an odd mood or something but the pace felt a bit weird, as if I was missing something. It improved with the second episode so I figure it's going to be like the first season where the quality steadily improves throughout the anime. Feels a bit like the GT situation, to be honest.

I forget, where do they start off in that season? Been a long time since I watched it.

I do not understand Kill la Kill.

Don't even try. It's worth thesis-level undergraduate papers in history, psychology and cultural studies:

I've also read an excellent breakdown by a female (you'd be surprised at the sheer number of women (not girls, women) who've watched KLK) psych major who points out how the themes of sexuality and nudity comment on society's double standards, and how, somehow, nudity with nobility is accepted (think, in terms of movies, of "Bridges of Madison County" or "Schindler's List") whereas for individualists and lower classes, it's considered "slutty".

Errh... best way to enjoy it is to rush through the whole thing, enjoying the rollercoaster, then going back and thinking about what actually happened... to enjoy those "aha" moments afterwards.

Your posts in this thread never cease to amaze me. Good articles there 👍

Do you have a link for that breakdown?

Trying to get my model lady friend to watch Kill La Kill, she seems interested after telling her the themes.... Now the ecchi bits, errrrm

I have only seen ep 1 of Aldnoah Zero season 2. Should I even bother catching up.

I'm liking it so far, but to be honest it isn't super good or anything. I'm curious as to where relations between the Terrans and Martians will go and what will happen between Slaine and Inaho. Plus I'm really digging the soundtrack. Those three qualities convince me to keep watching. Everything else is meh to mediocre to me. I could also say the action is very nice but in the end it's not really working. Note that I haven't touch a lot on mecha so I don't have a say in that regard.

As far as I can recall the first general 'plot' or whatever you would call it was a suited man taking Index to try and internalize the 103,000 Grimoires to try and get rid of a spell on a woman that he said he'd never give up on. Ends with Touma asking to be taken to her to use his Imagine Breaker specialty.

Second episode is Archbishop Laura informing Stiyl that the Liber AL vel Legis has been stolen by the Amakusa Catholics and sends him to Japan along with a group of Catholic battle nuns known as the Agnese Forces, to search for the grimoire and Orsola Aquinas, the only one who can decode it who was also kidnapped by the Amakusas. In order to get Touma's assistance, Stiyl pretends to kidnap Index. While Touma coincidentally runs into Orsola on the way to save Index, the Amakusas appear and abduct her via a hole in the ground.

Whoop sorry for not replying, very busy this weekend..
Watched Danganronpa over the weekend though, very good anime, as weird as the storyline is.. I'd have to say it's very enjoyable :) I'd recommend
Thanks for the help guys, I'll be sure to watch those anime you offered over the next few weeks :)
Good to know there are a lot of people who still are helpful over the internet.

Judging by your signature, @Sp3edst3r, you need to watch Cowboy Bebop and then reconsider everything that came before that point in your life.
Heard Cowboy Bebop was good, might watch that as well :P Even if it's very good, I'm not reconsidering everything in the past because in my personal opinion they are all very good anime ^^

CB is definitely, DEFINITELY, worth a watch. Probably my favorite one shot series of all time. /handsdown /thread
