Did anyone watch last night FMA or GITS:SAC? I catch a scene or two of both, but really did make much of them because I was playing poker and one other card game with some friends.

Woah... I have.. about 5 months here, and I can't believe I didn't see this thread before.

Well, ever since a friend of mine got me to watch one anime episode, I'm now addicted to them (well, not addicted.. eh.. you know what I mean), but since anime isn't that much popular in my country, it's not so easy to find (in the video rental store that I go to, they only have Evangelion and Rurouni Kenshin -known as 'Samurai X' in the U.S.) so I have to download most of them.

The ones I've watched so far:

* Lady Oscar (Versailles no Bara or Rose of Versailles)
* Evangelion (with Death and Rebirth)
* Kareshi Kanojo no Jijuo (His and Her Circumstances)
* Saishu Heiki Kanojo (She: The Ultimate Weapon)
* Sakura Tsuushin (Sakura Diaries, a little hentai, but ok.)
* Rurouni Kenshin (with the first 4 OVA's - this one is just great!)
* Mahoromatic (just started watching this one)
* Night Walker

Anyone seen any of these?

Actually your information about Rurouni Kenshin being known as Samurai X in the US is only partially right. The OVAs are called Samurai X, while the actual Rurouni Kenshin series is still Rurouni Kenshin.

I own two of the three arcs of Rurouni Kenshin, along with Trust, Betrayal, and Reflection. I have Evangelion, though none of the added stuff at the end. Though I have a problem with both series, I have yet to have the time to watch all of either of them all the way through.

And it isn't that big of a surprise that you haven't seen the thread, lately it has been a little off and on.

Oops, well, thanks for clearing that up :). Seems like both AniDB and AnimeReactor have them listed as the same (I suppose that's for simplicity).

Evangelion is not that big to watch, only 26 episodes, and you can skip Rebirth if you have End of Evangelion; although I've watched over and over again, and I can't seem to understand it completely yet...

I forgot to add the "usual" anime that I've seen on TV (mostly on Cartoon Network) which are:

* Dragon Ball Z (I didn't see the point in watching GT)
* Yu Yu Hakusho

I think I'm forgetting one, but well..
And yeah, I noticed that the thread has been a little down... that's why I wanted to post, to see if anyone had any comments on the ones I'm watching, and also if anyone can recommend some.

the real reason behind NGE that its just a dream. If you didn't see the last ep, most NGE will be confusing.

It's not that I don't want to watch Evangelion, it is just I haven't really had the time to watch it.

Yeah, I suppose that's one way of seeing it... but I don't want to tell spoilers, so, I can't comment much on that...

I know what you mean... fortunately, since I had to download every single episode (until I found the DVDs at my rental store...) going from 250-300 MB. each, I had the time to watch them one by one, and not the 3-4 episodes that each DVD has.

Well its not that, I just haven't found the time to really watch any episodes. I started to watch the series there for a while and then I just never finished it. I don't know why though. I really should just watch an episode a day and watch the series that way; at least then I would finish the series, though over a longer period of time.

Is it better than Dragonball Z? I mean DBZ is not absolutely terrible, but it isn't the best thing in the world either.

I find the storyline (Naruto) very cliched and predictable... But then it is a cartoon for younger people... I think the storyline is pretty average considering that... A lot of cartoons are like this series though (Peace Maker is also a light, Samurai Action/Comedy... Though Naruto is a 'Ninja' Action/Comedy...)

I personally don't find huge interest in such series... (But then I like dark storylines a bit too much... I'm weird that way)

Wow I posted here again... I feel odd to do so for some reason... :nervous:

ANIME IS FOR ALL PEOPLE!!!!

I meant the Naruto cartoon seemed to be for the younger people... I never said anime was for younger people...

Or is it the last part you were answering to... (I like anime a lot and I'm not saying I feel ashamed of that either...)

Either way... I meant I said some bad stuff about some series in the past, and I feel a bit uneasy in this thread since seems to everyone adore that particular series......

nk4e: Cool avatar, you should download the AMV, "ninja of the night". Its Naruto to the tune of the sifl and oly titled song. Its fun fun & check you deviantart PM's

I agree to Naruto's easily apprehensible story and characters, 2 dimensions short of a 3d personality. its more of a drinking anime.
