Well after tonight's episode of Samurai Champloo, I am very interested in seeing how the story ends up wrapping up in the final two episodes.

Well it looks like I am going to make a triple post, only because no one else has posted at all in the thread.

Cartoon Network has finally finished showing Samurai Champloo. I have to say I really liked the series. I can't really find any universal truths in the series like I can in Trigun, but then again its hard to find an underlying theme when the episodes are so far spread apart. I am sure this would be different had the series been showing on consectutive nights. All-in-all, I really enjoyed Champloo. It has action, comedy, and hip-hop all in one series.

The ending surprised me a little, as I was expecting pretty much the exact opposite to happen. It is hard not to say anything and spoil the ending. The action of the last episode was great and the wrapping up of the story was great too. I also had a little laugh at the end. Great stuff!!! 👍 👍 👍

Well I just looked at Best Buy's website and every DVD for the series is out. But they had nothing on the series box. I also just looked at Amazon.com and they have the series box listed, but looks like they are sold out of it. So you could buy all of the DVDs for the series. But I would definitely look to find the series box that comes with the first DVD.

Who watches anime?

What animes do you like?

Are you into anything else directly related to anime?

What is your fav. anime series?

What is your fav. anime movie?

I do

In terms of films Akira, Appleseed, Barefoot Gen, or anything from Ghibli is good. Actually there is very little true anime I dont like (with the exception of Virus Buster Serge, my memories of it consist of a 5 hour caffine high with added on screen hilarity and the worst and most peverse English dubbing ever. I was very suprised it managed to get away with being a 12 in the UK, especially when the opening scene of volume two consists of a woman in orgasm screaming "RAAAAVVVVENNN" before death.)

Who dares me to say hentai?

Would have to give that honour to either Azumanga or The Last Exile, I'm going to go with Azumanga on account of it being so damn funny.

Akira.

Sorry I was so late, I was never aware of this thread existing.

Yes, this thread has been around for a very long time, but as of recent has been relatively inactive. Definitely stay around in the thread and chat it up with us.

Hentai is ok but in my opinions that Im standing in the middle
Could you please rephrase that in such a way that I could understand it?
:dunce:

Don't know if anyone else caught this or not, but Cartoon Network is going to air--I think this is the correct movie--Spirited Away here in the very near future and by very near future, I mean this week. I missed what day, but that is what I just heard. Cartoon Network is also supposed to be showing some of the other movies from the same person who made Spirited Away.

So Full Metal Alchemist has finally been wrapped up on Cartoon Network and I have to say it is a very good series. I've probably missed an episode or two, but seen enough of them to fill in a majority of the holes. Very good stuff! 👍

How is FMA like Harry Potter? I see no real resemblence between the two at all.
Harry Potter and the Sorcery Stone
Full metal Alchemist: search for the Philosopher's stone
and both of them are red...ill Post the comic.

Not sure about all the "HP" buisness so No Comment regarding HP & FMA. :ouch:

However, I've got a duzy for everyone!

Has anyone here seen "The Librarian: The Quest For The Spear (of Destiny?)"... ? :odd:

TNT original staring dude from "ER"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0412915/

This movie is a loose adaptation of the "Read or Die" anime series.

"The Library" is the home of the secret government organization and mystical powers from the past are now a reality.

As a direct example of the influence of "ROD" on the movie, I point to the introduction of Bob Newhart's character in The Librarian.
He walks into the room appearing out of thin air... Sounds like "Nancy" from ROD to me. :odd:

From there I don't see many other similarities.
None the less, this could be a strange coincidence or an actual connection and in either case I would like to hear opinions from you all. :D

No biggie...

However, one thing you should definately know about is this...

FMA isn't over just yet!
The movie is actually the end of the story!
I'm not going to give away the end but I can say that it picks up right at the end of the series. 👍

Good luck finding a copy of the movie. :ouch:
I don't think they sell it here in the states and I don't think it is very old in Japan so getting ahold of a copy may be hard.

In any case, the movie is the true ending to the series and I can't wait for CN to show it (if they do). :dopey:

Let's hope CN shows that movie. :D

I knew that there was a Full Metal Alchemist movie. You have discussed that with me before Kent! 👍 I think how the series ended warrantes a movie to be shown after the series. Not that the series ended badly, it just left a whole lot open.

Indeed.
From what I understand, the movie doesn't actually tie-up those loose ends.
I get the impression that the movie does resolve one really important issue... Ed and Al's bodies.

I'm not going to post any more about it because I don't know the movie and I don't want to spoil anything.

Soo... Good luck finding the movie.
Once it comes out I am surely going to atleast rent it (if it doesn't go onto CN). :D

That is the biggest loose end of the ending of the series and the biggest question mark I had left. Otherwise, there weren't really a lot of stuff left open. But there are many, many questions on that one loose end. Such as, how do they get back together? Do they get back together? Does Al go back to being a suit of armor? Does Ed come back as a suit of armor for some reason? . . . etc, etc, etc.
