I also looked at the schedule a little closer and noticed that Adult Swim is going to start showing Bleach. I remember more than one person mentioning the series, but I have no idea what people said about it.

Its a odd series, when its good its VERY good but when its bad it just plain sucks, you dont have to worry about fillers untill about ep 55 though.

If Adult Swim are going to be doing one episode of bleach a week then you should be watching that for quite a while......im on episodes 90+!

Spec....

Oh wonderful! I am never going to know what is going on with the story with that slow of progress from Adult Swim. Oh well, I'll still watch it.

On another note, I bought Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Ghost in the Shell 2:Innocence. I stopped by Best Buy and Game Stop on my way home and happened to see Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away on the DVD rack at Game Stop and decided to see if anything else was on the rack. I got all three for less than half what they cost new. 👍

yeah i've always wanted to see spirited away but i've never gotten around to buying it

same with howl's moving castle

Now I just need to take the time to watch both of them. Hopefully I will get around to that very soon. But I definitely could not resist not buying both of them for like a total of $20.

Whoah...This thread hasn't been updated for three-and-a-half-years...
Regardless, Future Trunks was an amazing character, greatly influenced by his background with the androids. The 'Movie Special' featuring him and Gohan set in the alternate future with the androids clearly showed his strength.

Goku, being the lead character across the whole of the 'Dragon Ball' series definately has a place for my vote but his Jr. addition in the GT special showed his heritage was never to fade.

The unfortunate event of Akira Toriyama cancelling plans to go any further with the 'Dragon Ball' series proved disappointing.
I was very close to trying to contact him though, to motivate him to let any other people continue his legendary work as in GT proved too hard.

Nevertheless, I wonder how many Dragon Ball fans are on GTPlanet. One only wonders...

My favorite was Freeza then Vegeta and then Piccolo.
I didnt like Gohan much, he turned out to be a bit of a looser. I liked him before the Cell saga though.

trunks is the man!

then vegeta

then the green vegetable picolo bloke

Interesting description.

Really, I didn't know there were Frieza fans around here. Sweet. 👍

I have to agree with you there, he was my favourite character during the cell-games, especially when he turned SSJ2 (Ascended Saiyan) towards the end, that was sick. Pity his mother turned him into a scholar....

Cell in his Perfect form is pretty awsome, I like Tien aswell, and Hercule cause he's funny as heck and I like Adult Gohan cause he's funny aswell.
Vegeta was great in the Freiza saga, I didnt really like him much after that.

After the Cell Saga (which IMO was the peak of the Dragonball series) DBZ kinda went downhill, the Buu Saga was just ok and then GT was a total sell out.

wasnt he called Mr.Satan in the japanese version? from mr satan to hercule... i guess cus they were afraid of christians banning dbz? :p

What do you see in Tien? He didn't do much after the Saiyan saga. He was just there for numbers

Exactly, You got it spot on.👍 I think the buu saga went on toooo long.

Hey guys, it's been a while hasn't it?
Tonights the big anime night for CN, anyone else going to watch?

I've kept up with "Vash" over the last few weeks chatting about Naruto and Eureka7. Now I want to bring everyone in on it, what do you all think about either of those shows?

The reasons I ask are...
1) I'd like to know if anyone else here finds Naruto as funny as I do.
2) I'd like to know if anyone else think Naruto has stepped up the action over the last few weeks.
3) Does anyone have predictions about Eureka7? (not spoilers, but instead, predictions)

Also, while I'm thinking about all of these questions, can anyone tell me if Inu Yasha has ended yet in Japan? I thought it was supposed to happen this year and right around this time of year. If anyone knows, let me know.

Thanks and until later tonight when I see the outcome of the "Gara .vs. Rock Lee" fight... Later.

Btw, you dragonball guys are welcome to chat in here.
Actually, the DB thread was inactive for 3+ years (not exactly a good thread to revive when the anime thread was only one page back into the history of the movies/tv forum).
Also, for the sake of keeping what was said in that thread I have moved any replies from the DB thread after 2003 into this thread (they are merged based on date of post).

i've been watching naruto datebayo subs and i've seen every single naruto episode and both movies. i dont think movie 3 is out yet... is it? :)
Naruto's a great show. i heard about it a few years ago and i thought it was some stupid little kids show and dismissed it... then i actually watched an episode and got hooked lol.

i'm up to episode 199 of naruto DB subs. what is cartoon network up to? the guys who work on naruto are geniuses. the last few episodes are a bit of filler but interesting filler. they could be considered "character development" episodes :p.

Well, I just finished watching CN's latest Naruto. 👍 👍
Rock Lee just finished fighting Gaara (Gaara won). :(
However, Rock totally kicked butt for the entire fight (more or less). Gaara only won because he held out long enough for Rock's power to run out. Had it been different in the slightest way I imagine Rock would have won. Problem is, I imagine the creators wanted to Naruto and Sasuke to be the ones who took out Neji and Gaara.

In any case, when Rock opened the 5th gate I was amazed. Actually, to think of it, I was amazed when Rock simply dropped his leg weights. :p

Kent, the english dubs of naruto are horrible, not to mention most of Naruto is cut from the original version :)

Has the Kakashi Gaiden begun?

I seriously don't want to watch fillers...

They seem entertaining enough for me.
None the less, I've been watching anime (knowingly... not counting childhood) for the last 11 years. So hearing the same old subbed-sucks stuff is no big shock to me. :indiff:

no kent cartoon network is nowhere near the fillers yet lol :p. if you think naruto is good at the chounin test... you are in for a treat later on lol.

The "filler" is pretty good. at least it isnt 5 minutes stretched out to 30 episodes like DBZ did. -_-

I hear that.
That's what pushed me off of DBZ (that and GT and just seeing so much of it). :yuck:

I've gotta ask though, what's with this show coming on at this very moment.
Looks like little kids drew it and it's all about little kids. Suprisingly though, it's full of tounge-in-cheek humor (I think that's how you write out that expression :dunce: ).

The show cracks me up though (shock value). 👍
"ShinChanShow" (web address in the credits).

Also, saw the previews for "Bleach" and can't wait to record that with my vhs. :p
Likewise for the Trinity Blood but I don't think "TB" will be as good as bleach. None the less, both look good. :dopey:

I am going to try and catch what is left on AS tonight. I was at the OU game tonight so I have yet to catch tonight's episode of Naruto. I am very much looking forward to it. 👍 Naruto is very much great stuff! 👍 I have been keeping up with it, the best that I can, nightly and on the weekends. I really like the series a lot. The humor they put into the series is usually very funny and done well. The action as of late has been absolutely wonderful and I have been looking forward to the series every weekend for new episodes.

I have no idea what to expect with Eureka Seven at the moment. I am enjoying the series a lot and the development that has occurred over 19 episodes, but I am still somewhat lost as to what is going to happen with it. The story keeps progressing and allowing the viewers insight into what is going on, but there are still a lot of mysteries left and a lot of backstory for a good majority of the characters to be seen. Even Renton has some backstory that needs to be seen, though it has to deal more with his father. One thing I do know is that all of the Nirvash's powers have yet to be seen.

I have no idea about InuYasha.

Looking forward to watching tonight's Naruto later when I can get a hold the taping I made.

I agree with the DBZ comment. All of the fight being drawn out over 15-20 episodes gets old very quickly. I thought up to the Cell saga that DBZ was pretty good, after that with Buu it was not near as good. I have not watched enough of GT to really know about it, but I can only imagine that it is about the same.

I have not caught every episode of Shinchan so far; but what little I have seen of it, I have kinda liked. It can be pretty funny and it is much better than some of the other crap AS puts out there.

I have not seen any of the previews for Bleach. Did they just start airing them this week? Well that may be the problem or me not watching the commercials. I am not too big of a fan of commercials. But I am looking forward to watching Bleach since it has been mentioned in the thread.

I am going to watch Trinity Blood and see how it goes. I am not all that big into vampires, but I will go ahead and give it a chance. Maybe it will surprise me and turn out very well.

I do not really care that the Naruto subs are supposedly terrible. I am just glad that CN is showing the series and will pretty much take whatever they get me. As of right now, CN is my only outlet for anime and I am happy that I am able to catch most of the programming I want to watch on it.

BTW, sorry for the double post.

Slick Rick
What do you see in Tien? He didn't do much after the Saiyan saga. He was just there for numbers
Basically I like him for 1 scene, it was in the Cell Saga where he takes on Cell with his Tri-Beam attack to stop him from absorbing Android 18 and reaching his Perfect form, that scene was just awsome!

Tien... Tri-beam... 👍

Bleach previews, for what I can tell they did start this week.
And I just finished this week's Eureka7. Amazing is all I can say about that.
Gotta sleep now but back again another time. :D
