Dude that would be SWEEETTTTTTTTT. Make sure you record it and then have someone type it out so I can read it if I miss it.

Tom
I will record a Podcast and put it on Youtube for the both of you. 👍

Awesome!!! Make sure it's a long interview, I love information. Ask him if he still is in contact with them.

This is the closest I've probably gotten to the band ever haha, well besides concerts.

 It's only over the phone, but if he's still in contact with Maiden, then I'll try and get him to put a kind word in. :sly:

Even still, that's great. Can't wait for it! How'd you find his manager?

On his website. 👍

I have also just emailed Paul Di'Anno's Manager about an interview at some point in the near future. 👍

Haha should have known. Now if somehow we could get in contact with the rest of the band lol. Someday if my band ever gets good enough it would be a dream to open for them. Well I guess I'll keep dreaming then haha. Both the solo Blaze and current Maiden.

Hey! My band want to open first. :p I'm eagerly awaiting the reply. 👍

Haha of course! Might be your big break. Lucky for you that you work at a radio station where you can get in contact with big names easily. Who knows how many other garage bands ask to open for them both.

Very true, I guess I am lucky, though that makes me sound really up myself. :yuck: Still got one more track to write for my band's EP. :)

I've got some lyrics written and some basic lines on my guitar but nothing real fancy at the moment. I have a few songs lyrically complex and I was looking for something long but seeing as I have no time at the moment I can't write anything. My mind goes blank when I sit down to really have a go at it. Tabbing the second guitar out for the other guy in my band takes up time too, time I usually don't have. Having a hard time finding a place to set everything up since no one has much space.

With my band, we just say we'll play in such-and-such a key and see what we can come up with, normally it ends up with me playing a 15-minute guitar solo..

....You sound like me haha. Jam sessions usually end up never following the lyrics though. That's our problem. We can write good lyrics and good music, but they never seem to want to go together, kind of like trying to stick magnets to each other with the same poles facing each other.

Yeah, it's a tricky thing to do. When we write songs together, we just find lyrics depending on what our surroundings are like, what sort of mood we're in, even the weather..

Different here. We sort of just write dark themed songs to go with the heavy tone. We are more thrashy/heavy stuff more than Maiden influenced, however, I dare say, Maiden is one of our biggest influences. Haha. We've got songs about the fear of dying and nightmares etc but they never flow with the heavy stuff we write. I was thinking about maybe changing it up and going for a more upbeat sound but we all really like the heavy and thrashy should that we have now. Not to mention all the resetting I'd have to do with my pedals and amps and stuff, and everyone elses. I really want to stick to the sound we have but getting the two things to correlate with one another is a pain in the butt. There are times when I get the things out and sit down, give it a good try and just say **** it. I'll try my own stuff with them but it always ends up in me fading into some kind of cover of a song lol.

 It always happens one way or another. :sly:

Anyway, I've received an email back from Paul himself and he has said to get in contact with him around mid-January as he is on holiday abroad. I will keep you updated. 👍

I'd like to read some of these lyrics you speak of. ;)

PS: At least you guys have bands that you can fit in with. The main trouble is that no one has the same understanding in music as me. In my old band (I've left now) I had no writing positions for the short time it ran because the style they had in mind and the style I had in mind were two completely different things. Where I'd want to fit in a longer song with a versatile song structure in the mix. They just want to bash out riffs the entire time. But wouldn't allow me to expand myself musically at all. Now they're 🤬 for a singer because I'm the only metal singer the school has that isn't screamo.

our school only has three or four male singers that aren't Samoan or maori. And two of them left this year.

I will pm you them sometime. A word of warning, I'm no pro and they aren't the rhyme type, kind of like Slayer stuff but Maiden music.

You forgot your red. ;)

I'd make changes if there's anything dramatically wrong, which I don't really see happening.

When my posts aren't in red, it usually means I typed it off my PS3 or PSP.

Well we will see I guess. One is rather, long, I mean, REAL long, and another is kind of short which makes for great instrumental breaks inbetween stanzas.

I came up with a great intro riff today, Drop Tuned my Guitar and it went from there really. :D

You get my PM? If you did maybe Skython would be interested too if you accept.

Tom
I'd love too. :D

Well it's worked out well in the past, so all I've got to do is get that adapter and we're off. I'll PM Skython and see if he's interested. PM me for further discussions in regards to name edeas etc.

Will do. 👍 All I need to do is find my lead and I'm set. 👍

I wonder if anyone can find a way to plug drums in, electronically or something. I've got a few songs in mind that could be easily covered, and make us sound good. Probably Battalions by Metal Church and their title track of the same name. Give those two a listen, let me know what you think. Not sure about singing though, unless you just want to do instrumentals, which would probably be easier at this point.
