Very interesting read, but not sure how you are classing me, ie asking for more content?

I am a seasoned player, I spend most of my time trying to get at fast as I possibly can (high DRA but don’t have time to race as often as I’d like) I’ve played the game since release and will continue to do so until I am as fast as I can possibly go!

I need to see your profile, I can't find your PSN... pure academic interest. I think in every study there is a sandwich of data, let's call it the positive and the negative, and there is always a layer (of chorizo ) in between the sandwich:lol:. That would be your area, but I need to see your PSN name and I can't find it.

No June update!!! omg low budget I’m so done with this game!!! I want more cars and tracks :)

Man that cat is long dead now. Should give us a nice super premium dog instead. Everyone knows cats are weird.

Rain doesn't either. "It’s just a matter of adding wet conditions to other tracks through updates". Six months later and everything is still as dry as the Sahara desert, unfortunately.

I am of the opinion and guessing that the lack of rain and/or simulated real time in race changing day to night are both lacking due to a lack of resources with the PS4 and to not be able to include the special effects and maintain adequate frame rates for a smooth playing experience.

I would also be of the opinion the problem is even compounded further when we are adding in 4k and HDR support. You do have to remember the PS4 in looking at computing hardware is a very inexpensive machine and at its price point really does an amazing job. I have more money in the video card in my PC than I do in the ps4 that includes all the controllers and required cables.

I would be surprised to see actual rain with full visual effects in GTS and still be able to retain the level of other eye candy on screen at the same time the game is known for on the PS4 platform.

Maybe on PS5 depending on the computing hardware used to build the platform. But then again things like actual in game VR immersion and compatibility will be what sells new systems and games at a much greater rate than including rain drops so the expanded new horsepower of the new platform may well be dedicated to those task and the tracks will remain in a drought condition!

With the PS5 they'll kill the game (options) , again, with the 8K or 16K (or something else) ...

Lack of power to handle everything at the same time is probably the reason why rain is already visually limited (in terms of rain drops, water spray, actual puddles etc.) compared to FM6/7 and PCARS.

And if they limit rain to cloudy conditions (that would make perfectly sense), shadows don't have to be rendered and that helps with the extra reflections on tarmac.

PS5 will come with the new Navi architecture for GPUs ordered by Sony with AMD, something between 8 to 10 teraflops, do not expect anything spectacular..

interesting... I just bought my PS4 for 50£ and the G29 for 100£... and soon it will be for nothing because PS5?:banghead::D Japanese definitely know about marketing. As someone said once... grab them by the wallet!

Edited: At some point Kaz will realize that he must go to PC or stop doing GT... and then the modding community will make GT even better and brighter (sorry for daydreaming)

Just so you know rain drops was seen on the car body... in the dedicated rain thread.
Let me finish work as my break is about to end and I will find the thread!
Anyone who find it before me thanks in advance..

I think we are getting an update every 2 months now. Or they dont want an update to interfere with the FIA Championship stuff.

Part of me thinks this coming update (if there is one) is going to come after the first season of events end, which is tomorrow. Maybe not right after, but somewhere between that and the next season would be the prime spot for an update so every round is on the same page.

Conductor Announcement:

Ladies and Gentlemen, since we are runny out of hype fume for the month of June, it is time to get off the Hype Train! Please make sure to watch your steps as you leave and come back again next month for another month of hyping fun time. And as always, thank you for choosing the Hype Train where the hype keeps on hyping!

Not a lot of time between Season 1 and 2 as that kicks off on Wednesday next week which could mean another update needed.

My bet is a tweet is coming this week or next to say what's happening and note the word NEXT so I can get out of jail free later...

This is a good argument that we can extrapolate to other subjects, about content I mean. I'm going to send Madison Ivy a deep request for more new fresh content. We should get an update soon.

Actually the Playstation has always had a pretty good life cycle. You have to remember the PS4 was released in late 2013 so we are approaching 5 years and I would guess we have another year or two before the PS5 as there are no rumors common about surfacing spyshots of the new system or supposed insider info claiming what the specs will be on the new system so with all quiet it will probably be a while.

If you were to have bought a new 300.00 U.S.dollar computer 5 years ago I doubt you would still be getting much in the way of playing new current game releases with the same amount of eyecandy and frame rates as the gamemakers are giving you on the the aging PS4 system.

So from those aspects Sony has delivered a very good value for those that bought at launch. I am (knock on wood) still running my launch system and it still performs today as well as it did on day 1!
At some point Kaz will realize that he must go to PC or stop doing GT.

The last PC I put together for gaming about 2 years ago I spent about 2000.00 U.S. Dollars just building the complete tower. It was considered top shelf at the time but was still no where near top of the line as to what was available.

I would rather stay at the price point of a good console system as for the dollars spent gives you the most bang for the dollars period.

Another reason I have decided I prefer console gaming is that so many games for the PC are optimized for different hardware that how the game performs on your system is dependent on which hardware the game is optimized for.

You do not have that on the console, if you are buying a playstation game it will generally perform as it should on the playstation. I got tired of updating PC drivers for different hardware or fighting and looking for fixes for certain random blue screen crashes on some games and the game studio never would release patches that fixed the problems.

No thanks, I will stay on the console!

Hmm, I WONDER if instead of an NSX, one of the historic Honda's are due

Id love to see that make it. Or even the stock S800, S600, or S500. The size of these cars are so minuscule compared to the younger S2000:

I love their High revving tiny motors. :p

I'm happy with whatever content PD comes out with. Rain effects would be awesome though !

GTS lightning engine probably ate alot of PS4's horsepower

Interesting comment: "Regarding the June update. In case you havent noticed they are currently running the FIA Nations and Manufacturers championships. Season 1 finishes June 30th. With Season 2 races i suspect starting i would say based on the way season 1was , season 2 will probably start the last 10 days of July. They wont introduce an update during an official FIA championship. So the update could come between July 1st and July 18th / 19th. Just my opinion."

Kaz could tweet tomorrow?

Where'd you find the comment?
