Cars like this are quite expensive to buy for a family.
In France perhaps, but over here most families are happy to spend similar money on crossovers like the Nissan Qashqai or the Peugeot 3008, which would be Pug's equivalent. Or indeed a BMW 3-Series, which is one of the UK's top-ten selling cars. The latter is more an image thing, but people certainly aren't averse to spending £20k-30k on a new car here.
Second hand they are cheaper but those cars are also expensive to maintain.
This is true, though again the same could be said of crossovers.
Electronics can be an issue and expensive to fix. Haven't heard to many stories about the latest models of Peugeot but Renault has had quite some problems with all their electronics.
This is also true, but I believe all are better than they used to be - they're certainly climbing up customer satisfaction/reliability rankings recently.

I'm really liking Peugeots current design styling. The new 308 is also beautiful in my opinion.

The 308 works really well on the road, even more so as the SW estate. There's a bit of German sophistication in the lines, but it's just interesting and chic enough to pass as French.

I'd like to see the 308 do well. Deserves it much more than the old version. The 208 and 2008 are both selling pretty strongly right now.

Am I the only one that thinks most cars would look better without the ridiculous, ugly, cheap-looking rope lights most marques are putting over their headlights?

Nope. I prefer those with unbroken LED DRLs, personally. Though the Pug above looks better on the road than it does in pictures.

I prefer them LED's as well. It adds a very nice touch to the overal design. Peugeot has improved their design massively over the last couple of years. The 308 is also a very pretty car next to the 208 sells well.

While it may not be on sale until September, the first few seconds of Hyundai's World Cup advert continues to dupe me into thinking it's for the facelifted 508.

Even with a new grill looking less like the one sported by the Genesis, the sharper lines appear to be a closer match than they are on the current 508.
